So, here we had great weather. The perfect kind for taking the kids outside, dogs for a walk or just puttering in the flower bed. Did any of that appeal to me?? Nope. Not one bit.

Instead I stayed inside, did a few workout tapes, searched the net and cleaned house. Yep, that was my summer.

Now, it is getting cold out (at least here) and I finally have the urge to start eating right and exercising. Why is that?? I am like a reversed bear. I hibernate in the summer and come out in the winter.

Totally weird.

Anyone else like this or am I the only odd one in the world?!?!

Anyways.... at work we are starting a new walking challenge with a pedometer. It will be a challenge to see who walks the most steps.

Thank goodness it wasn't done in the summer!!!

Cari

Cari - yep that sounds familier. LOL not funny I know, but I have to laugh at myself. I have done basically the same thing.

Now there is this lady at church that has just gradually strank all summer. I ask what she is doing? She added daily walking ONLY!

So I say to myself Gena - get off your duff. Made me some great walking CD's and was siked - then DD had surgery yesterday - sooooooooooooooo putting if off until she can atleastmake it to the restroom on those pain meds.

I stayed in all summer also.  BUT it was over 107 degrees every day for over a month.  We normally get a break and have some days in the 80's and 90's but this year it went from 100 to 60 with no inbetween temps :(  I have started walking my dog agian now that the ground is not so hot it burns his paws.  But I have to say I did not do as much this summer as I planned, and I have little excuse because I have countless workout dvd's, a treadmil, and a total gym I could have used indoors with the ac on.   I did do some tia chi and stuff everyday, but did little to no strength training, and kept planning to do it the next week.  Before I knew it summer was over and I did very little!

~Amanda~ (Planning on a mile walk as soon as my kids are off to school today!)
