Ok I copied this message from the general discussion's board just to use as an introduction to my journal so sorry for the repeat! I'll update it again after tomorrow's workout. The other boards with charts and stuff are a little confusing to me so I'll start here for now. :)
Hi everyone! I'm not neccesarily new but I haven't been on this group since 2004 so I hope you'll all bear with me while I get used to posting things again. Even back then I wasn't much of a poster, more of a reader so I guess I still am kinda new to everyone so nice to meet you all!
My name is Lori and I'm 25 from NJ. I'm 5' 8.5" and currently weigh about 240 give or take 2 pounds i think. I've always been overweight my whole life except for when I signed up for kickboxing from 2003-2004. I got into the best shape of my life and got down to about 170. I could do 2 hours of kickboxing in a row, 200 push-ups (real ones) a day, squat press about 300 pounds and then I went back to school and it all fell apart.
I stopped working out, got a boyfriend and we go out to eat constantly like 3-4 times a week. We spend the weekends at clubs or bars. During the week my job now is fixing copy machines for Canon(I finished school). My car is my second home. Anything I eat is always on the run because I don't have time to take a real lunch break.
I just signed up for kickboxing again at another martial arts school, I can do classes there 4 times a week. Mon, thurs, fri, and sat. I start this Monday. I'm going to start with working out first, no eating after 8pm well no junk maybe a snack, and if I go out to eat I'll get a salad dressing on the side. Also I work on drinking lots of water. After a few months of doing this and I get used to it I'll start making other changes. Also I'm quitting smoking too.
I have no goal date at the moment because it's not so much the number on the scale that bothers me it's just the fact that I had a taste, a little tease of what it was like to be in awesome shape and I'd do anything, I mean I'd cut off my left arm and just do one arm push-ups if it meant that I could just get that back again!
