Diet Extra: The 8 Essential Tools

If you are sitting by a window and live somewhere that has a cold winter -- LOOK outside! Take a good long look at the branches of the nearest tree.

Right outside my window I see branches with little forming buds on them. Sure, they aren't ready to bloom into springtime yet nor are their leaves ready to burst open in a flood of green, BUT they are preparing to do so!

Long before you SEE the results of change, the steps necessary for change are going on.

If the tree out my window hung it's limbs low, moped and pouted and believed there was NO WAY it's limbs would ever be strong, that it would never bloom and would never have leaves, it probably wouldn't -- or if it did, they would look weepy and sickly. Attitude is over 50 percent of this journey!

If ALL winter long you have been drinking water, getting some exercise and making steps toward a healthier life, just like the tree, YOU are preparing to bloom and show your glorious potential.

Spring is weeks away and summer is even further off. BUT if YOU start taking the steps toward change -- the steps vital to the process of ridding your life of the old and implementing the new -- YOU will soon show the world YOUR true potential!

In Awaken the Diet Within, From Overweight to Looking Great -- If I Can Do It, So Can You! I saw that you need to decide on a healthy lifestyle, not simply on a "diet." The essential steps are outlined in my book:

1. Awareness: What needs to change and why. And how you got into this situation.

2. Education/Knowledge: What is healthy living and what isn't. What you should be doing to get more healthful.

3. Purpose: Dedicate your life to something, your reason for living -- bigger than food, bigger than what your body looks like -- decide what you are passionate about and make a difference with your life!

5. Inspiration and Application: You can read of my weight loss success or that of other people and become inspired to do what they did, but until you apply the lessons taught, incorporating the knowledge imparted

to you, with purpose and determination, you will not be as likely to succeed. Line up ALL of these tools to insure the best chance for YOUR success!

6. Motivation: I think motivation comes from doing. The more times you take the right step, the more times you successfully avoid your vices, drink your water and get your exercise in, then as you start to see changes in your mind, body and soul, motivation starts rockin' and becomes a self-empowering synergy that is REAL and will keep your progress continuing in your desired direction.

7. Attitude: That progress I just spoke of -- it needs attitude! As long as your carry yourself with an attitude of success, you are going to keep moving in the right direction.

8. Take Action: You must implement ALL of the above in your life.

TODAY, find the strength within yourself to suck it up, get your head held high and just say BYE-BYE to the past! Your future is here -- it is knocking at the door and waiting for you to answer.

Go on, go get it and show the world YOUR true potential!
