After a very hectic week of preparing for my January 1st  trip to Israel, I needed to really relax---So I copped some H & snorted a couple of nice size lines & drifted off to Never Neverland--  It still does the trick for me & I'm very very careful  & respectful of the power of H..  What  can I say, I'm a Lifer I guess & there seems to be very little downside to my sporadic  chipping   ( I couldn't do this if I wasn't on Methadone)
                       Peace & Love, Indigo

Hi Indigo. I really know where you're coming from here.  I, too, am a 'sporadic' user and I could not do it unless I was on methadone also.

I mean, it certainly does DO THE TRICK when one is stressed out and cant take one more minute of this crazy world.  Just do a couple packs and relax......

The thing is, Indigo, we are old.
I think we more or less paid our dues...lol!
I would NEVER EVER recommend this life style no matter what to a younger user.  Do you know what I mean??

Heroin is kinda like a beautiful snake.   So pretty, but the second you dis-respect what it can do and forget about it's power:  bam!  it gots ya!

So relax and enjoy, and thank you for being careful.
luv,sue

Maybe it's a good thing you don't have a source, Beth!   Sometimes I wish the old man I buy from would disapear.........but I suppose another one would just take his place.

But the main reason I am posting is because I want to know if anybody here, in our HoH family, does meditation for relaxation?    I think about learning it sometimes, and I wonder if it works.   Or how good it works.  And how hard is it to learn?   I mean I can barely sit Indian style anymore (old, stiff joints!)  let alone try to sit like some of those positions I see when people are meditating. I cannot even touch my toe's anymore!

Is meditating basically just trying to empty your mind of thoughts?  or what?  Is it really relaxing?   Because I can never do that: empty my mind of thoughts....it is anything but relaxing!  Matter of fact it ends up stressing me out because I cant do it! lol!

So if anybody meditates....please, any information would be greatly appreciated,
luv,sue

Hey Sue --  I've been procrastinating on the Yoga-Relaxation thing for  years & years (probably decades), even though I've heard nothing but great stuff about them--I've met elderly  people (60s or 70s)  who seem so serene & have that special sparkle in their  eyes  , & they all said it was thanks to yoga--One guy who I met in AA, told me that by spending 20 minutes in the morning & 20 minutes at night, he feels totally rejuvinated  & calm (both physically & mentally). I've always envyed those people     & I don't know why I've yet to give it a  try--its cheaper & safer then junk-lol--But don't expect instant Nirvana--Apparently  the positive effects grow as you get better at it. It sure sounds like its worth a try--nothing to lose.. It was suggested to me to start out taking a beginners class rather then trying it on my own..Well I've convinced myself--lol--I'm gonna go for it when I get back from Jerusalem in mid-January..Thanks for reminding me about Yoga--it must be a sign..

Have you guys ever heard of Mindfulness Meditation???
I took a course on it last fall but had to stop going because it was so hard for me to get there every week.
In Mindful Meditation its not about getting yourself to a DEEP Peaceful place, its about being mindful of eveything you do in life.
I dont know about you guys but i have a brain that never shuts off, lol.
It rambles and races 24 hrs a day and i can go thru a day like a robot and not remember a damn thing i did, lol.
In Mindful meditation is about being in the minute, to be mindful of what your doing, and the result is suppose to be a much calmer mind and body becauese when your Mindful the mind cant race.
AM i making Sense??
I have tons of articles on it if anyone wants me to post them.
Love Karen

Heroin will be the death of me.
Her -o -in its my wife and its my life.
Because a mainer to my vein,
Leads to a center in my head.
And then i'm better off dead.

The so called bliss never lasts for me. I soon need it everyday just to funtion. Then the hell of heroin steps up (heh). With me its all or nothing when I use its the hammer down!! Theres no sporadic chipping here.  need more and more to get high. Then the bills stop getting paid. and its all hell breaking loose.

Just because you get the monkey off your back doesnt mean the circus is over.
There is more to treatment then just stopping the drugs, Love Karen
