Hello everyone! My name is Angel (actually that is a nickname). I am a recovering addict and am looking for a site for recovering addicts. I don't have much of a support system-only a couple of people but they can only help so much when they have not a clue of how I am feeling. Anyway, I have been pretty much all over this site and I am not sure where to go or what to do. I have E-mailed a couple of members but when I click on there address and send an E-mail it comes back to me saying it does not exist. I visited Junkie Jargon chat several times and no one is ever there. I did speak to one person last nite in chat so I just have some questions about the site that I hope someone will answer for me--please. It seems to be a wonderful site but I am a little lost. If someone would be so kind to say hello to me, please E-mail me or IM me. Like I said, just have some questions, would like fellow brothers and sisters of this devil addiction to talk to who really really understand.
Thank You in advance to all who will take the time!!!!!
Angel

Hi Angel,

Welcome to HOH!  Everyone is welcome here whether clean, using, or something in between. I like this site because people are free to say whatever they want to, even just to vent, and everyone seems very supportive and non-judgemental.
The chat room never seems to run properly, but if you post something on a message board people will usually respond with comments, thoughts, & suggestions within the day.

See you around the site,
-Curiosity

Hi Angel (or not) --  Like Curiosity says, you're definitely welcome here...We're not all in recovery as far as total abstinence goes, but I think we're all trying to better our lives in one way or another.(NA/AA---Methadone Clinics--councilling--Harm reduction etc etc)...Myself, I'm going the methadone route for now & I'm doing pretty good as far as I'm concerned...Please feel free to use our community in whatever way you feel necessary--Ask questions, tell us about your day or week or year--rant & rave & vent--or just joke around--We've all been down similar roads    & we can relate to the unique circumstances of heroin addiction & its accompanying lifestyle...We mostly chat on the message board though  many of us do email one another if thats more comfortable...So pleasestick around & try us out.............

Hello to all you 'newbies', in the last few weeks there seems to alot of people joining our little group i hope you are all able to take from it what you need.As far as i am aware the number one thing to remember is this site is non-judgemental so wheather you are clean ,never used ,trying to quit or using with no intention of quitting all are welcome so welcome to all.
I to get my daily updates intermittently but check in most days-i have been chipping over the last 2-3 weeks which is daft as the meth means i have to take shed loads for a nod but hey we allknow how the addict brain functions!!started a new job in jan which is great alot more money but with that alot more temtation just hope i dont go too crazy and binge -think im safe though as i have my own family to look after and love( 2nd baby due in a week or so-doc's got the date wrong and said in Dec that it was due on the 28th jan but now it looks like any time in the next 2 weeks)

Ah well ,love & peace to you all and remember tolerate and do not judge-its nice to be important but important to be nice.
Lucky

Hey, Angel -

I've been trying a bit to get some people into the junkie jargon, so if we can meet up in there, it's all good.  I work in nursing, so I have kind of a crazy schedule sometimes, but maybe we can work something out.  If not - whatmessenger do you use?  I use Trllian, so I can connect to almost any message server.  Let me know.

Hi Angel-- I came here to listen when I loved someone who was a user and I did my share of venting. So I'm not someone who can share my experiences or offer advice/suggestions when folks have questions. I guess my only contribution would be the occassional reminder that there are those of us who understand that good, intelligent people, not just scum bags, can end up as addicts.

Dear Wildlibragain,
You  are so right.   Nobody grow up and wishes to be a junkie.  It is all circumstances, choices, ect.  And yes they are human beings like you and me.  People with deep problems, shame, guilt.
Shit i would feel that way too after experiencing first hand how shitty society has treated them and anyone involved in helping them.
The whole fucking system has to change and where do we start.
I guess you can tell i am in one of those anger modes and i am so furious.
I would never want a family to experience first hand the treatment of an addict but when are people going to open there eyes.
Just my little opinion,  Hugs Karen

Hi Angel,
Welcome to the board. Feel free to email me @[email protected]. I would be more than happy to chat and there are so many on the board with some really great things to share and I must say the wisdom here from those on the board is pretty cool. Hope you stick around.
