I don't know sweetie I'm just as confused as you are. There doesn't really seem to be any reason that's good enough right now does there? And to know your son is going over there without feeling the reason is 'good enough,'  makes it feel all the worse. This is a situation Sue where faith comes into play..we just have to believe he and all the men and woman who leave for there..will come back home safely and in a good place. I do know it's imperative that they believe we believe in them..and believe that whatever circumstance they find themsleves in over there..the good Lord has them all in the palm of his mighty hands. The Bush's and politicians of this world will never be able to give a good enough reason or  explain well enough why our loved ones are there and not at home where they rightly belong. My heart..the heart of all free peoples are with you and every person who finds themselves over there.

The only thing I can say on a positive note or that I pray will eventually come into being from all this confusion..is that the people of Iraq can one day walk without fear and in freedom like we do in the rest here at home. That is the only thing..and when I think of this war in Iraq I don't think about Bush's poilicies or obvious personal reasons for being there. I think rather of the terrorized & oppressed generations of  women..children and men who walk in fear of everyday life. That would be what makes me understand just a little bit and be able to get some resolution as to your very valid question on "why," America is over there.

Hi Sue,

There are actually quite a few pray/meditate for peace sites. Members are from different religous backgrounds and I don't expect to agree with everyone on everything..what I do feel is when people gather to do this in the name of peace..everyone's goal is the same. And that's the important thing here.

"It is an illusion to think that peace can be attained by strength of arms, it can only be found within yourself, by all who are peaceful defenseless."

~Deepak Chopra~

Here are a few sites that meditiate/pray for peace globally.

The one below has a chatroom and message board called "Chat the world," that seems to have a good grip on what's going on over there. I think you have to sign up first but it's not difficult.

each of the above sites have many links to other places that practice meditations.

Sue,  I wish I knew why we are still in Iraq too.
I am sure it has alot to do with the Bush administration.
Too bad more of the politicians aren't sending there sons and daughters to war, they may have to look at it with a personal interest.
I will pray until your son comes back safe and sound,  Love Karen

OIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why do you think left Afghanistan in such a hurry & mess>>NO OIL in Afghanistan--therefore its not worth their time--time is money!! Money is OIL---Money is not Democracy>>Bush is not spreading Freedom & Democracy--He's spreading his version of American Manifest Destiny!!!!
---Do you really believe that America, Britain etc plus half of the Iraqi population can't get rid of this so called little Insurgency---Who are these Insurgents really??? Why can't the most powerful country on earth with the help of England & the friendly Iraqis wipe-out the Insurgency??Nothing about this war makes sense!! We're being fed massive amounts of bullshit & misinformation & were taking it without serious demands for the REAL FACTS!!! Its OIL!!Its control!! Its subtle expansionism in the name of Freedom & Democracy & its ALL a LIE!!! Wake up people!! Why is there not one son or daughter of any US Senator in Iraq or Afghan?? I'm totally disgusted by behavior of the American President & his cabal of stooges (Rumsfield--Cheney--Condi Rice--Wolfawitz) & don't even get me started on the American Religious Right(American Taliban as far as I'm concerned!) & their monoply on Truth & Morality!!  Thank God I live in Apathetic Canada, where "Inaction & Compromise of One's Values" are the latest tradition to catch on....Oh well, I'm gonna go smoke a joint now & at least change the political landscape of my mind...lol
Have a Great Day Guys --- I just happen to vehemently disagree with about 50% of the American population---the 50% that put Bush there for a SECOND term??!!!!
