I just posted a rant on another board making the same points as Obama. He did a much better job of expressing the thoughts, however.

Barack Obama today released the following statement on President Bush's
decision to commute the sentence of Scooter Libby.

"This decision to commute the sentence of a man who compromised our national
security cements the legacy of an Administration characterized by a politics
of cynicism and division, one that has consistently placed itself and its
ideology above the law. This is exactly the kind of politics we must change
so we can begin restoring the American people's faith in a government that
puts the country's progress ahead of the bitter partisanship of recent
years."

Hey wild and FC, flapj here. I am sure we can all agree that politics will most certainly get much worse before getting any better. The power elite are a tight-wove group; they stick together and protect each other. The domino effect... if the creatures at the top start having to do real time or at least serving some kind of sentence that resembles in most ways what the common civilian must endure for his crime, then it would not be long at all before they all would start singing like goddamned canaries bringing all around them down into the flames too. This lovely, and to me, most desirable possibility will of course never happen. Little Georgey-poo sees himself going down once he starts in on his own slimey administration. I am afraid we are witnessing now the rapid displacement of governments being overpowered by the largest corporations in the world. Within the next twenty years national governments shall more or less be dead and corporate/financial/military/idustrial complex shall be ruling over us. Don't forget the plan for a one government/corporation world. The New World Order. Now add in that world oil production has peaked over two decades ago and the soon to come mad power scramble of the most powerful nations for the occupation/usurpation of rival countries fields, factories and plants, and reserves. Folks, civilization as we know it is coming to an end real soon and you better beleive you won't hear a whisper about it on any mainstream TV, radio, newspaper, or magazine until of course it is too late. The Bush family ranch out there in Texas is equipped with the most up to date and sophisticated alternative energy systems and energy generation gadgets, machines, devices, etc. It is THE environmentalists dream ranch/home. Now why would a family so steeped in the world oil want or need a completely self sufficient domicile. This fact in itself should send the message loud and clear; Peak Oil has happened, oil prices are not going to go down any more, ever, and Iraq is the second or third in the beginning of the up and coming resource wars.  According to what the censors at Washington DC say, everything is fine and dandy here, and in a few other spots around the globe, well, except for the ever growing threat of TERROR, which could take shape and form literally anywhere and anyplace at anytime without any warning whatsoever. Folks, the enemy is within. It's the goddmaned spooks(CIA, MOSSAD, MI6, NSA, ONI, FEMA, DHS, FBI, you get the drift). Alot of the, what is it, some several hundred thousand, people per year who disappear wind up in mind control programs(not every single one of them) for the governments, corporations, and of course, the military/industrial complex. They are used as slaves to the elite, assassins, indoctrinated into covert operations all over the world for all possible reasons imaginable(unfortunately none of them are in the least bit benevolent-having to do, rather, with things such as control, genocide, etc.) Laugh now, cry later. It is happening here and now in this and in other first world nations across the face of this planet. Our planet, not the power elites. Our planet, not the world Banking and Financial Elites. Our world, not the goddamned military/industrial complex's world. The system shall come to a final sputtering and grinding halt, but not until, as aforementioned, things get a whole hell of alot worse. There are vast underground tunnelings and complexes in Colorado, Montauk, NY, and a few other places which are used by the government/military/intelligence, etc. for the continuance of government. Read- "the continuance of the control mechanism for or against the people, in which all advances in technology, medical and biotech, physio- and psycho-, genetic and sub-atomic and nanotechnologies will most certainly be refined to the utmost and exploited so as to find any and all applicatiopns to further the ends of total control of the "masses". You, me, all our friends and loved ones. The GREAT ALL is awre of ALL and ALL shall ultimately rebound unto its INFINITE and HARMONIOUS GLORY. They'll get theors and we'll get ours by the ALMIGHTY. To bed now for me fellow Heretics, much ove to you all from the depths of my solar plexus, flapjack

Hey yall, flapj again. Last Thursday I had a doctors appt., my third in the past hree months. Since I've no insurance of any kind I am going to a free clinic.  My reasons for doing this is to begin to build up a medical history, since I don't have one. Hopefully, I will qualify for medical assistance in the matter of health insurance which I've already applied for and was denied because I make too much money, but I am going to contest that ruling and turn in a denial form, which basically is trying to ram the request through anyway. I think I'm gonna have to ask my boss to lower my pay rate to nine dollars an hour so the stubs say that instead of sixteen for a few months so I can qualify. It'd only be for a few months and once I get the assistance I'll keep it for a year or two and go get everything I need and want done taken care of then drop the card and assistance. It is insane that I must commit fraud to obtain the financial help that I need. I just turned forty and I need to start thinking of my health in the long term even though as of right now I feel fine. You know what I discovered recently, the detainees in Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo Bay have better coverage than 'John Doe' citizen. Alledged terrorists have better assistance than the some fifty million US citizens without any coverage at all. WTF? We're all paying for these assholes welfare while going without ourselves. What is it? They want to keep the 'enemy combatants' healthy so they can keep on interogating and torturing them? It doesn't make sense to me. Back to the point of seeing the doctor. She is a petite Indian woman. She told me people who think too much make problems for themselves and to forget about all the stuff running through my head because I cannot change anything, I can only change my behavior. I am aware of that fact, but the idea that nothing is going to change rankles. I thought these are odd words to come out of a doctors mouth, especially one whose cultural heritage and ancestors come from India. Am I being a racist here for applying stereotypes? She wants me to get on anti-depressants. She said everybody is on them, so I said well what does that tell you about our society and civilization: no one is happy, people know that something is indeed very wrong and are lied to that 'all is well' or nothing can be done about 'the way things are'. I also said that it is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a sick society, I'd rather stay un-adjusted. Well, I am going to try the anti-deppresants for six months. Maybe I will feel better, but there is a reason for my depression and anxiety and taking the "proper medication" is really only addressing the symptoms of a much deeper and convoluted problem, just like my getting xanax, valium, heroin, off the street: so I ask you, what is the difference ultimately. There is none. On the one hand I am attempting to seek aid and advice from the state and a doctor, trying to go through the proper channels; and the other hand is me thinking(or not thinking) for myself and self medicating to achieve the same result- to feel OK, so I can get up everyday and unwillingly participate in this farce of a civilization we have going on over here because there is no other choice, and more importantly, to enjoy and utilize my artistic talents and capabilities more often. So, I don't know what to do about all this health insurance bullshit, it just makes me ill and aggravated, and it's a step in the direction of being more identifiable on the grid, but I'd rather not do anything which makes me anymore visible to the beast than necessary. Babbling over. My tooth hurts. Dentist this Tuesday, crunch, drill, rip, sew, script, thanks, later, and on to the next tooth in like manner. Good morning my fellow Heretics, hope all is going as smooth as it can be for all yall up in here, enjoy the rest of the weekend folks, much love to you all, flapjack

Hi Flapjack,
I too am trying to get on some kind of medical insurance assistance and ya know what?  They told me I made too much money because I was getting $104 per month!  WTF is right!

I was getting that from my husband's unemployment check, some kind of back child support payment he supposably owes me.  We have made several calls to the state dept. and told them that we live together and our children are grown, but still, whenever he gets a job (or unemployment) the state takes money out of his pay and sends it to me........and I live at the same address as him.............and the state knows this!  How retarded.    I have no idea what they are trying to prove. I could see if the state kept the money, but they send it to me.

ANYWAY ...so I tried again to get on insurance when his unemployment ran out and I was not getting any money at all, from no where..........I figured I'd surely qualify now.........well, I got a letter stating that there was a 'freeze' on new applications for medical insurance right now.  So, I guess anybody who gets sick now better hope they win the lottery to pay for medical bills because the state wont help.  WTF again!     What exactly is a 'freeze'?   The state ran out of money or what?  How strange.

But all that was a couple of months ago, so I will try again Monday.  I really need to get on some kind of medical insurance so I can get this Hep C checked out.  Plus, I'm even older than you and am thinking of health issues too.

My plan was to get on my husbands employment insurance benefits but thats a big joke.  My husband is a machinist by trade and should be able to make a decent living.....but the economy and job situation is CRAP here in Michigan so he has to get work through a temp service which is also CRAP because they get you these jobs and he maybe will make $10 per hour if he's lucky (the temp service keeps 75% of his pay for payment for getting him the job)  and then, after promises of raises and medical benefits in 90 days if he keeps working hard like a good boy and blah blah blah,  he gets laid off.  Every time, right before his 90 days are up it's the same thing over and over:  laid off.   On to a new job.   over and over.
Never getting in the company and never getting any benefits.  I guess this is the new way for companies to save money.  They dont have to pay for their employee's medical benefits anymore.  They just lay them off after 90 days and hire new people.

My opinion: it's a sin when a man who is capable and willing to work cannot find decent work using his trade to support himself and his family.  He has to accept meagar wages or nothing at all.   And, what are we suppose to do for medical insurance?  We dont make enough to buy our own, and the state is giving me such a hard time.....I guess I am suppose to just curl up and die.

no wonder we gotta get high once in a while.

luv ya,
sue
