Another World-Class Promo.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

[On Camera]

The cameras start on the ICWA Heavyweight Champion, David Van Dam standing in front of the ICWA banner.  The Heavyweight Championship is drapped over his left shoulder.  He grins at the camera.

"My entire professional career has been dedicated to winning the Heavyweight Championship.  While I love wrestling, and being a wrestler, being Champion ins what consumes me, it's what pushes me to be great.  There have been many men in this business who were great wrestlers but have been largely forgotten because they failed to win the big one.  Since August of 2007 I have reigned as ICWA Heavyweight Champion.  A reign that I have willingly chose to put in jeporday by defending the Championship agaisnt Whysper at Silence is Golden.  In my last ICWA match, I let my frustration and anger get the best of me and unjustly assaulted TOG after I defeated him.  This Championship match is my way of apologizing to the fans and to the company.  This match is my wway of giving back.  This match promises to be another great contest; just like my matches against Christian Michaels, Drew Stevenson, Jimmy Stryker, and the triple threat against Whysper and Michaels were.  Whysper is a very talented performer, a former ICWA United States and Tag Team Champion.  He has all the skills to be Heavyweight Champion.  He's got the potential to score the biggest win of his young career by defeating me and ending the longest ICWA Heavyweight Title reign in history.  I have given him this opportunity, it's up to him to choose how to handle it."

Van Dam pauses to shift the title to his other shoulder.

"Whysper, I know you've been going through some personal harships lately.  Unfortunately, you and your wife are having some personal issues that I will not delve into, it is not my place to discuss your personal life.  I will tell you that I wish you and Angelina the best, and I hope it all works out okay.  With that said, I am asking you not to let it effect your professional career.  I understand what personal conflicts can do to a man's mental state.  I have been through many personal trials.  I have found that the best thing to do is consume yourself with your professional life.  You are in the greatest profession on earth.  You are in a profession that provides you with an opportunity to work out your frustrations, your mental anguish, all of that inside the squared circle.  I will say this, if you cannot stay focused on this match, if your personal life prevents you from preparing properly, then please back out.  Inform myself and Mr. Brooks and we will find a suitable replacement.  Whysper, I've known you for your entire professional career, I've known you since you started at my wrestling school years' ago, and you know that I take wrestling very seriously.  At Silence is Golden, I am coming for a victory, I do not go half-speed, nor do I ever take it easy on an opponent.  From bell to bell, I am trying to win.  So if you do not come fully-focused, you are going to run a much higher risk of serious injury.  So, I beg of you, Whysper, please do not take this match unless you are sure you can focus on clearly."

Van Dam nods his head sternly before continuing.

"If you decide to show up, Whysper, it will be a great contest.  We will tear the house down.  You are a great wrestler, Whysper.  You're fast, agile, and resilent.  You blend the trypical American style of wrestling with the Mexican lucha-libre style beautifully.  You've got a lot of potential, and I truly believe one day you will be the franchise player of  a company.  In fact, I belive that one day you will be the top wrestler in the world.  Today; however, is not that day.  I truly believe that I am the best professional wrestler walking the face of the planet.  I am, by the result of my position as Heavyweight Champion, the franchise wrestler of the ICWA.  I'm not flashy, I'm not immortal, I've never killed anybody, I've never traveled through time or been fused with anyone else.  I am a professional wrestler.  I use suplexes, I lock in submissions, I target body parts, because I wrestle to win.  I don't do a lot flips, I don't use a variety of weapons.  I wrestle.  At Silence is Golden, Whysper, I'm coming to do what I do best: wrestle.  Wrestling is what made me the ICWA Champion a year and a half ago.  You have the biggest opportunity of your career, Whysper.  You are at the cusp of greatness.  A victory over me will propell you to that next level of stardom, it will push you to the forefront of wrestling.  A strong showing, even if you lose, will still propell your career.  Whysper, I hope to see you at Silence is Golden.  I'm looking forward to our contest.  I hope you'll be there."

Van Dam smiles.

"Before I end this promo, I would like to take a moment to mention a man by the name of King Slender.  Now, until he pinned Wallstreet at Rage in the Cage, I had no idea who he is.  But, apparently he thinks he's ready to get into the ring with me.  Slender, kid, don't get ahead of yourself, 'cause if you get into the ring with me, it might be the last time you ever get in the ring. "

End.
