Visiting
Our stately homes I much admire
Such treasures they contain
That just one visit can't suffice
So I return again.
To view the antique furniture
And crystal chandeliers
Ancestral portraits in the hall
Great paintings by Vermeer.
A music room of white and gold
With flute and harpsichord
That conjure up a time long passed
When lady danced with lords.
Quite soon it's time to leave once more
And though it's been so fine
I'm glad my cottage waits for me
With treasures that are mine.
