Kick-Ass Ginger Snaps
Combine and beat well:
1-1/2 sticks butter 1 C. sugar 1/4 C. dark molasses 1 egg
Sift together:
2 C. flour 1/2 t. ground cloves 1/2 t. ground ginger 1 t. cinnamon 2 t. baking soda 1/2 t. salt
Add dry ingredients to wet mixture. Mix well.
Add and mix well:
3/4 C. chopped crystallized ginger (about 4 oz.)
Chill dough for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Form 1 inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.
Bake 8 - 10 minutes.
Makes 5 dozen amazingly good cookies. |
