About fourteen years ago Mirre was borne in the cold northern Sweden. His thick fur was white and deep grey. Soon, very soon he became the king of his humans and ruling the six dogs. Earlier there were a great number of rodents eating the house and dogs?food. As soon as Mirre was big and mad enough, he took care about the problem and emptied the area from all the rats. The owl in the tree moved too as his food was reduced to zero.

Sometimes Mirre brought small gifts to the family. They were put in front of the door. You could not miss them as you stepped right on them.

During the cold winter his favourite spot was the window sill from where he could watch the bullfinches outside. But as soon the snow was melted and the ducks were put out to the big pond on the yard, Mirre was found there watching the ducks quacking on the water. He never chased or harmed them in any way.

Mirre never accepted can food. As he was the big hunter, he demanded meat of moose into his bowl. He really deserved it too.

During this spring however something was wrong with Mirre. His appetite was down and he did not stay out very long. His eyes were wet and did not look well. After a time he preferred to creep under the bed cover. His eyes were disturbed by the light. The family had no possibility to take him to the veterinary as they live in the countryside very far away from the city .

One morning Mirre was not able to walk. My brother was forced to shoot him. The pain and the grief were very big. As the ground was frozen yet, he could not burry their beloved kitty. Mirre was put beautifully with a yellow rose in a nice box and saved in the freezer till the ground was thawed and dry. He was buried during summer by the pond where he loved to stay.
