Scott just left for Milwaukee until Wednesday night.  I'm going to lay the tile down in our bathroom FINALLY.  My dad is coming over tomorrow to help me pull the toilet - I want the tile edges to go under it and I can't do it myself.  Hopefully it will not entail cutting any bolts -he said old toilets sometimes have to be cut out.  That would suck.

Unfortunately, I cannot find the tiles.  I thought they were in the bathtub with the other renovation stuff.  I don't see them in the garage either.

I'm thinking that maybe I should clean out the garage today.  That would give Scott two surprises.

Once the tiles are laid in the bathroom, I can finally caulk and we can use the shower again.  There would still be lots left to do in there but at least we could use it!  No sink or mirror or trim but a working shower would be nice.

Well the garage is cleaned out as much as I can get it.  The workshop area is still a pit of course but that is Scott's domain.

I can't find the vinyl tiles!!!  I can't even guess what he's done with them or possibly what I've done with them.  When Scott cleans he tends to put things anywhere that seems "logical."  He may have put them somewhere like the attic just to get them out of the way instead of in the hall bathtub with all the other bathroom remodeling stuff.  I want to scream!  And I waited 5 minutes too late to call and ask him - I didn't want to tip him off that I'm doing the bathroom while he's gone so I didn't call him right away but then when I went to call him there was a text from 5 minutes before saying "i'm on my way" and his phone is turned off now.  Which kills me anyway because I would have liked to say goodbye but cleaning the garage made the time pass really fast and I didn't know it was so late.  Argh!

I wrecked the laundry room cleaning the garage - threw all the stuff that belongs in the house into it.  But at least the garage itself, being mostly camping stuff that just needs to be piled until Scott can get it all up on the shelves, was easy.  It needs a really good sweeping and some attention to small piles of things in corners but since it's mostly wood and unidentifiable things like metal poles, I'm not touching those things.

Now I am in a bad mood.  Sick of how this house is.  Ticked that we could lose something like the vinyl tiles.  Sick that they could be in Erik's mess of a room (my fault) or anywhere else - we have clutter in so many places and he (or I) could have ended up sticking them anywhere.  Who knows, they may be in my gift closet where I throw things sometimes that are decorative but I can't use just yet, they could be under the bed in our room which is a pit but very close to the master bathroom so they could have ended up there, they could be hidden under piles in Erik's room, they could be in the attic, they could be inside a box inside a box inside ANOTHER box in the garage and I overlooked them, who knows?????????

So here's the state of my house right now.  Despite feeling relatively clean yesterday and Friday, here's the down and dirty of it:

Boys' Bathroom:
-Stack of clean towels in floor because there's no room for them in there

Laundry Room:
-Laundry under control but entire floor covered with stacks of garage stuff

Dining Room:
-Kids' hockey table in dining room with stacks of curtains still in the package on top of it (I actually moved it to mop in there but had to move it back) - I don't want the big game table in the middle of the playroom when I get around to cleaning out Erik's room because it's difficult to get around
-Dining room table covered in bags from Walmart with stuff we didn't bother to put away yesterday - mostly produce and sodas

Kitchen:
-Kitchen is messy but not horribly so - still, how does it get messy so fast!

Playroom:
-Playroom cleared out in general, but one corner is piled with cardboard playbricks mixed in with craft stuff, craft shelves are extremely messy behind curtains, all the toy cabinets are a wreck but at least behind doors, game cabinet is a wreck, hamper full of nerf and other guns needs to be cleaned out, and there are piles of toys that don't fit anywhere in the corners - bucket of lincoln logs, bucket of wooden trains, two castles piled on top of each other - all stuff from c's room that i decided to take out of there but haven't decided whether it's going in the attic or playroom or bye bye (he still plays with all of them)
-Big cars everywhere, including a 4 ft long fire engine - I never know what to do with these cars other than park them against a wall.  The kids still play with them and I am in a phase where I am just trying to grin and bear it with big toys because I know it won't be long before they stop playing with toys and then I will be sad - after all Chane is only 7 so he certainly deserves for me not to throw away the big cars and trucks he loves, 2 golf sets that don't fit in the cabinets
-Ugly couch with ugly pillows and ugly throw
-Big ladder folded out like a scaffolding in front of paladian - not ready to put it away since I'm still working on the curtains

Erik's Room:
-Boxes and bags of Christmas stuff including big reindeer
-Kids' little tikes table that they wanted for the playhouse this summer :-(
-Lego table
-Bags and boxes of JUNK that needs to be sorted and put away (or better yet, thrown out!)

Hall and Steps:
-For some reason, I guess because the kids slept in our floor last night and I was already asleep, all of our good bedding and big floor size pillows that I use as a faux headboard are piled in our tiny hall

Hall Bath:
-Looks good but even that room has hidden clutter - all the master bath renovation stuff in the tub (behind a shower curtain at least!)

Braeden's Room:
-He has it cleaned up to his liking but it is just so packed with stuff - every corner and against every wall there is STUFF

Chane's Room:
-Big shake-n-go track in his only floor space, big tub of legos filling the space between his bed and dresser but otherwise not bad since I helped him do some cleaning in there yesterday

Our Room:
-Lots of stuff on Scott's side on the floor - he saves everything!  There are bags of paper and junk from BrickFair plus clothes I don't know what he wants done with
-Under the bed is scary - more stuff of Scott's that I don't know what to do with
-One dresser is covered in junk I threw there - clothes I wore yesterday that don't need washed yet and the curtains I WAS going to put up in the playroom but took up to my room to take off the hooks to reuse and then left them up there

Our Bathroom:
-Tub is full of the more nitty gritty renovation stuff - not the bigger things like in the other tub (towel rod, fan) but the screws and boxes of little junk
-Magazines everywhere
-Toilet tank covered in construction stuff
-My old shoes, painting clothes and a box of latex gloves from painting are still in the floor (from last September!)

Family Room & offices:
-Not terrible but video game shelf is a mess
-Pile of boxtops from the pantry plus two boards I was going to make a shelf for C's room with (was going to be my alone-time project with Braeden in June but we didn't get around to it) in the corner
-Scott's office area is a mess as usual
-My office area is a mess as usual with a pile of shorts I want to sell on ebay (Scout shorts) and the boxes leftover from when we decided to make Webkinz houses this summer and now I don't know what to do with them
-My gift closet is packed with junk but probably no gifts, haha
-God only knows what's under the couches

Lower Basement:
-All the kids' winter clothes are in bags on the floor - Braeden took them down for me after sorting - no room for them in the laundry room and if they go in the attic it will be too hard for me to get to them when I need them
-Tons of other stuff still left from when we tried to clean it out in the spring
-Big home gym that I need to get rid of but would be embarrassed to have anyone go down there to get it

Okay I puttered around until 2:30.  Got the stuff from the garage all put away.  Cleaned up the dining room.  Put the hockey table back in the playroom.  Cleaned up the kitchen which wasn't bad but it looked awful (I will post pics - I took pics and they motivated me).

Took the kids to an indoor playground then went to Lowe's and spent $28 on new tiles.  At least I lost something cheap.  I probably should just wait but I have my dad in line to get this done with me and since my brother is redoing his basement (meaning my DAD is redoing his basement) I doubt there will be another chance.  Luckily I asked about this before my brother asked for help - I made "reservations" in July I think - or early August.

Chane is driving me crazy!

How was Hanna? Did you guys get a lot of wind or was it just rain?

Augh, sorry about the tiles. That would totally tick me off but yes, good thing it was a cheap thing to lose!

Hey, your house sounds like mine! Though mine is DIRTY. I ahven't swept or mopped the floor in quite a few days now and I guess it's not totally visibly gross but it needs to be done. I have too many food crumbs and pieces in the living room. blech. I should make a list of my house cause then you'd feel better abotu yours. Oh yeah, we have a mystery smell in the basement by the freezer. Either a dead mouse or maybe it's some meat that I took out of the freezer that I forgot to put back in while I was looking for other food. I think it's that because I remember closing the lid after digging around and it seemed like something was missing. yuck yuck yuck
