Gj staying away from the computer. I'm not on as much during the weekends but this one being rainy and then Scott leaving had me making lists. I do get on for Webkinz but not usually to make lists. Now that school has started and I have structure again I'm more into following lists now anyway.
I did get a lot done on Friday but it wasn't super apparent looking at the house. Scott did notice the living room carpet though. He thought I cleaned the whole living room but I said no, I didn't dust or do anything other than scrub out those stains and vacuum. What a difference the floor can make!
We only got heavy rain with Hanna. We brought in our glass patio table but there was no reason to. We lost power for 1 second but it probably wasn't related because we only had about two heavy breezes for a couple of minutes each the entire day and neither was before the power blipped.
LOL on our houses! Mine is pretty dirty too. Isn't it funny how junk just builds up in corners. And if you don't get that junk put away, after awhile the rooms can be clean but they feel junky and they also get messed up again so fast. I'm really looking forward to cleaning things out this fall. Last fall was so messed up with Disneyworld and my car accident - I'm hoping I can take advantage of the time this year and get things done.
Ewww on the smell - I hope it's meat even though that would be costly because at least you can find that and get rid of it. Dead rodents in the walls seem to linger for months.
Where did you go to lunch? That is cute that Timmy likes to shower with you. We tend to leave our dishes all weekend too, especially if we eat out. If we cook we clean up more at least - I guess if we're in the kitchen cooking we're more likely to clean up. I HATE the mess that cooking makes though - I think that is the main reason I don't cook often enough, at least "real" meals. That homemade soup and chili I made last week used so many pots and pans and stuff it was incredible. I know I use too many things too, though.
Well my tile is all done - yay! It doesn't look awesome because they are just stick tiles and impossible to lay so that there are no seams showing (they just do not match up no matter what you do) but it definitely looks like progress. My poor dad and I went to Lowe's and I spent $120 but $84 was on a sink. Since I bought the sink (we already have the vanity and the faucet) my dad asked if I'd like him to come put that in tomorrow. I was hoping he would ask! I didn't ask him because that is a job that we are capable of doing (Scott may have been able to do the toilet too but I definitely could not have and could not put the tile down until it was moved and I really wanted to give Scott the use of the shower again which required a floor being laid - I figured I'd ask my dad to do the minimum possible just to get us able to use the shower again). My dad had trouble with the toilet and he's experienced - thank goodness he went to Lowe's with me - he was able to wander the aisle with the old parts and find good parts to fit. Funny though - the white bolt covers came off my toilet years ago and the only covers I was ever able to find that would stay on required replacing the bolts so I took this opportunity to buy new bolts and covers, a special kind that screw on instead of snapping on and my dad didn't realize it and thought the bolts were just too long so he went and filed off the top part that's supposed to screw into the bolt covers so I still don't have them! lol He was kind of sheepish - he said it took a lot of work with a saw to ruin those bolts I paid extra for. Anyway, I feel so bad asking my dad for help but my brother and sisters ask him to do everything, even stuff I feel like they should be doing themselves like putting in closet organizers and painting. So I feel guilty about the sink but Scott will be so happy to come home and have a working sink in our bathroom again! That's assuming that I'm able to drag the heavy vanity out from the way more heavy entertainment center in the garage and get it up the steps and assuming it actually lines up with the old drain since it's bigger and the sink will be 2.5 inches over to the left further (also meaning I have to move the light fixture over the vanity because it will be off center but I am trying not to think that far yet because thinking of that kind of thing is what paralyzes me on these big jobs!).
I'm excited we are moving forward. It's Scout night so I will have limited time but I'm hoping to move the vanity and sink upstairs. My other list is down the toilet (excuse the pun) - All I've done today is the tile and Lowe's and get dinner ready other so no other real cleaning or picking up but I'm dog tired. I also hope to get the caulking done tomorrow night and the shower curtain rod up the following day so that maybe Thursday morning my darling husband can take a bath (also need to remember to buy a new toilet seat because I threw out the old one this morning and forgot to get a new one at Lowe's - the old one was bought for me by Erik as a gift (I said I wanted all new toilet seats because the old ones were cruddy) and it's a "comfy" seat so it ripped and I hate the thought of what can grow in the rip! Now I have no toilet seat or lid and we always keep our lids closed to keep the cat(s) out so hopefully Sami will leave it alone - she spent all morning in there "helping" me put the tile down.
Gotta go take a shower - my water has been off plus I've been too busy.
