Hmm, I'm having MSN issues. We'll see if I can post this.

We have people coming around 5:30 to see the place until about 7 (4 different families, I think.)

The upstairs is looking pretty good, minus the spare room that has clean laundry all over it. I should clean the bathroom too. The main floor isn't looking so good and the basement is an explosive mess. I find myself avoiding the really messy areas and focusing on the already clean areas that just need sprucing up. I want to avoid a list right now cause I feel like I'll just panic if I do that.

I was feeling good but keep on having gaggin moments. No puking yet so here's hoping I can go a day without that!

Timmy may have a nap soon so then hopefully I can grab a snack to see if that helps my belly and then work on the main floor. He's been doing well but does tend to leave a trail of destruction so it's a bit frustrating.

I'm slowly chugging along. I can't seem to get anything crossed off my list. augh. Starting to feel more sick and ended up throwing up though now my stomach muscles really hurt.

Timmy had a short nap and won't go back down.

I NEED to bake something for after school snack.

I think it's time to start a list... ahhh

-clean upstairs bathroom, put bag into garbage
-vacuum upstairs
-clear lr table, wipe, tidy desk, tidy corner
-wipe obvious spots on walls
-tidy up spare room, deal with laundry
-deal with upstairs hall
-bring dirty laundry downstairs
-deal with front hall
-vacuum basement??
-pick up basement
-tidy laundry room quickly (top of washer, dryer)
-finish dishes in kitchen
-clear dr table
-quick sweep/mop
-bake something... anything!!
-clean spots on lr carpet (jam by table, applesauce by desk)
-windows/mirrors
-take garbage/recycling out to curb
-tidy deck

Anything else, school related, will be done AFTER the last person is through the house.

having MSN issues here too.

you are amazing you know?  all that to do and you still bake for the kids!

my head is splitting again.  it was okay at noon so i sat and played on the computer and by 2 it was horrible again.  from the time i got up until noon i was either getting the kids ready, showering, or going to/being at/coming home from the doctor.  for my legs again.  from the accident.  STILL trying to figure them out.  have to have a nerve study.  one of the less painful options to choose from.

anyway i wasted that time instead of picking up the house which was a disaster.  i did nothing but make messes yesterday and today.  so i did just manage to get the kitchen, dining room, boys' bath and laundry room picked up altho none are all too clean.  braeden is cooking part of dinner tonight so i needed to have areas clean for him to work in.  he's using a recipe from a junior cookbook for potatoes.  oh crap i just realized i was going to make grilled chicken to go with them but never marinated the chicken.  argh!

good luck tonite sara

Yay, it's done!! Though, the person who was showing people left her coat here. augh This is a spacey girl from the property management... she called us on Sat. (left a message) to ask if Tues. night would be ok to show the place. Then an hour later, we get another message saying I hope this is Sara and Andrew. I see you've shown some interest in 138 Sekura so I was wondering if you'd like to see the place Tues. night. Uh, yeah....

But, it looks like there were 2 really interested people. The first people to see it actually came back an hour later with the application finished. The spacey lady said 3 out of the 4 people seemed really interested but for the life of me, I can only remember 3 going through.

So, looks like we're done with that. Let the packing begin!! Also, our real estate agent emailed and said the sellers found a place that closes Oct. 3rd so they want to know if we want to move up the closing date. Um, yeah!!! We said the 15th which is the original date we were thinking of but Andrew was thinking maybe before Thanksgiving so then we have the long week-end to work on cleaning up the place (and he doesn't have to take off more time.) But, then we're overlapping a lot. So, we'll have to talk about it some more. I think we'll just stick with the 15th. I'm excited cause then I can slowly move things over rather than do a quick one day move. I'm hoping we'll be able to buy paint and do a tiny bit of fix up before moving in too. Or, some major painting... I'm torn because on one hand, i dont' want to go crazy buying all this fix up stuff and go into huge debt but at the same time, I don't want to drag out things that I KNOW I want changed. I don't want to live with awful paint in a room that I'll make excuses for a couple years after we move in.

I'm wiped and feeling sick (with a cold.) My dishes still need to be finished and the floors need to be swept and mopped. I should deal with the laundry that I shoved in other places. lol Really, I did A LOT of shoving and the scary thing is, they looked in closets. I didn't vacuum upstairs either. But, I should do that for my own sanity.

Augh, sounds like a crazy day, Joni! How was supper?

I'm going to lie down on the couch for a tiny bit as the girls are watching a movie and Andrew has TImmy at a baseball game.

his potatoes turned out great - only he cried because he told me he was making old bay potatoes for him and scott and i thought the salt ones were for me and chane.  so we ate them all and then he didn't like the old bay potatoes.  scott ended up eating all of those.  so braeden was sad but i could tell he was also a little pleased that we liked them so much.

i'm glad you can start your packing now - that must have been driving you crazy!

my advice is to paint before you move in and have to worry about working around stuff.  if you can get someone to watch the kids i would just take a few days and go over with andrew and at least paint a neutral color if you haven't picked out the colors you want.  or at least find someone to watch timmy and let emily and delaney "paint" in their room after you explain to them that you will be painting over their artwork.  you will feel more like the house is yours if it's freshly painted.  the worst part about painting is trying to work around furniture so you'll be way ahead of the game.  paint is not that expensive comparatively and if you can borrow supplies like rollers (not sure if you have any) then you'll only be paying for consumable supplies like roller covers, brushes, paint pan liners, tape and paint.  you'll never have a better opportunity - just make sure you insist the old owners have everything out by your closing date so you don't end up working around THEIR stuff.  even if we had a ton of money i'd have to think twice about repainting and recarpeting just because of the burden of moving furniture and other stuff from room to room!

you must be so excited!

we are working on the stuff from erik's room.  it's a little easier than i realized - there's a lot more stuff to throw or give away than i thought.  barely anything to put in the attic - i thought most of it was bound for the attic.  one big tub to figure out where to put in the playroom not including the candy crane, bubble gum machine, bubble gum crane (see a theme here) and garage that chane already took out and put back in his room.  scott and i are silently bickering because i'm irritated whenever i do this sort of thing and he has pulled a few things out of my trashpile.  only a tiny handful of things so he is irritated with me for showing irritation for that small amount instead of being proud of him for resisting so many other things (i am proud of him i just still am irritated about the stuff which i told him - it's not him, i just hate this kind of sorting!).  hopefully once it's all taken care of i can get things cleaned up again - it's hard to keep things straight when i have all this loose stuff sitting around that i dont' know what to do with!

make sure you take lots and lots of pictures.  i'm so glad to have old pictures of our house and yard.  it's so much fun to look at them - it's like a totally different house.  i don't think i've posted the ones from when we first moved in since it would mean scanning pics as it was before digital pictures, but it's amazing how much we've made this house ours.  PLEASE take pics!!!

ps i have never noticed a difference between cheap and good paint other than one paint we had which was expensive but washable flat paint.  it was nice that it was washable but i just use satin now instead of flat which is also washable.  so don't feel like you have to spend a fortune on paint.  we don't usually get the lowest grade but we never get the best and it's no different.  we painted our boys' bath with a really good paint and primer and it's peeling, but we have rooms we used the lowest and it never had problems.  i think the prep is more important than the paint quality and with kids, you'll want to repaint down the road anyway - it's not like you'll paint a room and leave it for 20 years!
