I really need to bust butt today.  My house is really a mess and very dirty.  I am not going to worry about deep cleaning other than the fridge which is filthy and inside the medicine cabinet in the boys' bathroom because my MIL may snoop.  Is mine the only medicine cabinet that gets all smeared with toothpaste and gunk inside?!

Already did the grocery shopping.  Actually a pretty big trip too so not bad for not quite 9:00 AM yet.

Going to post a list in a minute.

I'm back and feeling a little light-headed. Finally took care of my bloodwork... 1 down, at least 3 more to go this pregnancy. augh

Good luck with your list, Joni!! My house is kinda messy, pretty dirty... the living room floor has raisin bran and muffin in it. Augh. I hate how I have to time vacuuming... Timmy is afraid of it and if I pull it out with the daycare kids here, I can't do it when a parent is going to be here cause then I can't hear them and I'd feel guilty for cleaning while watching the kids so instead I embarass myself by having parents come and pick up their kids and see a filthy carpet! Ahh, I'm so going to look forward to carpet free rooms (though, if I get rugs for rooms which I want to do, then I'd still have the same problem...) I can just sweep up dirt rather than pull out the vacuum.

timmy's napping but I'm not feeling too tired plus I don't want to mess up the day by napping. I'm feeling too woozy and light headed to start running around the house yet so maybe I'll cozy up in bed with him and read or better yet, sort through a ton of receipts that I need to mark for daycare or put into the other category.

Here's my list for today:

-CALL KOULA!!!
-get d's stuff ready for swimming lessons tomorrow
-tell dh about high chair we're getting (ours is in rough shape but I didn't want to buy a new one for the little while Timmy will use it and for hte new baby... a friend is getting rid of hers)
-pick up lr
-vacuum lr
-sweep/mop kitchen
-get snack ready for after school, go to park... snack???
-figure out supper... meatballs in cp with diana sauce? See if I have egg noodles
-see if dh wants to do Costco tonight : milk, bread, eggs, fruit source bars
-cook up half of the beets
-empty backpacks
-figure out menu for tomorrow
-FIX EMILY"S BOOK, home reading
-load into wash, dry, bring up clean laundry
-15 mins on laundry
-15 mins on basement
-tape up bathroom boxes and mark
-get Emily to make thank you notes for 1 2
-put barbie house to curb
-empty chest in girls' room and put to curb
-figure out if this is yardwaste pick up week and put bag to curb

cheesy ham and potatoes took longer than i thought - doing things out of order so not sure but i think i'm really behind!  did take apart fridge and clean it pretty well plus washed the trashcan but i need to get moving.  i can push cooking stuff 'til after erik gets here but i don't want to still be cleaning.  maybe i'll have to give in and not do the upstairs and just close it off.

Ok, I HAVE to remember that I need to drink 3 glasses of water before 1 and NO PEEING. So, I think I'll pee right at 12:15 and then drink the water. Man, scheduling my peeing time. How sad!? Andrew will be here at 1:45 to watch Timmy so I need to be ready to go then and hope that I don't have to wait too long and don't have to rush to get the kids.

So, I just got a call from my caseworker. The little girl I just started watching last week is actually going to be having her last day here tomorrow. Her grandpa got laid off of work so he can watch Kira now. I'm feeling a tad upset but at the same time, relieved because this girl was VERY chatty and needed lots of entertainment. Plus, she didn't come yesterday and it was so nice just to have my 2. So, I'm going to be glad to go back to that. I take it so personally though... I feel like they didn't like me so that's why she's not coming. I saw the mom at school this morning and said hi to her but she never told me so that's weird.

Anyways, I'll have her tomorrow (though I'm secretly hoping she doesn't come) and then I'll get paid for her for Monday since I should get a week's notice, I think that's the rule.

I haven't done too much. Eating some pretzels and apples and just changed T's bum though he needs a new diaper. I didn't get to read cause he woke up soon after I made my list. T's been playing in the basement.

Gotta get moving here.

when my kids were afraid of the vacuum i could never figure out when to vacuum either.  i had a carpet sweeper and that helped a lot.  no noise because it's not power.  we used them when i worked at wendy's as a teenager too - we vacuumed after we closed but used a carpet sweeper if customers were around.  they work really well for crumbs.  i think they are under $20 and you can get them at walmart.  just a thought.  swiffer makes a no-power thing that works on carpet too - i think it's called a "flicker."  i imagine like all swiffer products that the refills are expensive tho!

good luck on your ultrasound.  is andrew taking you?  the first time you'll see the heartbeat - exciting!

i wouldn't like chatty either.  chane is very chatty which doesn't bother me of course but i wonder if he bothers others.  altho with him, he's actually interesting when he talks.  but i am probably biased.  i can't explain it but it's like having a fun conversation with a real adult and most adults he talks to seem interested but who knows, maybe that's because i'm there!  when braeden had a chatty friend over it used to drive me crazy.  don't take it personally though, that they are taking kira back out.  hey that reminds me that i saw a short blurb in a woman's magazine yesterday saying that they just completed a study on pregnant women taking antidepressants in their first trimester and there was no evidence of birth defects.  of course i don't know who did the study or the details but at least it wasn't a study saying antidepressants cause defects, right?  just thought i'd share.

i am exhausted.  i know it's because i had pb&j around 11.  i've been working my butt off but i'm also kind of overwhelmed.  i totally cheated on the playroom - it needed more thought than i was ready to give it so i just put everything in tubs.  at least it's not a ton of stuff throughout the house that's in tubs (yet ha ha).  there ARE some other things mixed in that were in the playroom but nothing important - a stray sock here and there, stuff like that.  i also straightened and vacuumed erik's room so i'd have a neat place to put the tubs.  i vacuumed the playroom but it still looks like crap.  and it will continue to look like crap until i redecorate it and that will be a few years.  i REALLY need to put up that curtain rod between the dining room and playroom so at least i don't have to see it!  ugly couch, ugly cabinets, ugly carpet, tons of ugly toys, gray light (i hate natural gray light - the back of my house faces northeast and i just don't like that side the way i like the light in front that faces southwest and is more golden) - ahhh....

also washed a load of erik's clothes - the few things he's left here.  they smelled bad dating back to when mowgli was in that room.  i thought i'd cleaned it better than that but there was some cat litter on his mattress that lies on the floor (ewww).  he hasn't slept in there since mowgli was in there and i don't know if he's staying tonight but if he is, he has a place to sleep at least!  i washed his sesame street blanket too (yes, he is 19 with a sesame street blanket that he loves lol).

i'd update my list but i have a feeling i'd have very little to mark off despite working my a** off!  i did get the dishes done which is kind of relaxing but it takes a lot more time than just tossing them in the dishwasher.  and did some picking up although not nearly enough.  i think i need to start cleaning the important areas now and forget the rest - probably just close the door to our bedroom and the kids' rooms!  tomorrow i'll need to get all those tubs out and do a better job on the playroom since my MIL will be here for many hours on saturday and i know the playroom will be a place she spends a lot of time.  also need to make sure the rest of the house is decent since she'll probably explore...

Hmm, a carpet sweeper sounds like a good idea! That would be perfect for throw rugs (or if we get a big carpet remnant for our lr) once we move!

I heard the heartbeat last week so that calmed my fears a tad. Now, I'm afraid they'll see some kind of defect but going to ignore that. I'm always like that with the kids.

Yeah, it seems like taking the meds throughout the pregnancy doesn't cause any defects. It's during the labour/birth that the issues arise as the baby may have withdrawls. So, I'm hoping to really try to come off of it once I'm feeling a tad better. Though, Andrew pointed out that shouldn't I try to come off of it while feeling yucky anyways? He makes a point but it's 2 different yuckiness feelings. Soo, I don't htink so. lol

Sounds like you're doing quite well, despite your tubs! lol

Ah, I know what you mean about grey light. Our house is fairly bright but the majority of the sunlight throughout the day doesn't hit our windows. I think it mostly hits the side of our house that is actually our neighbours (we live in a semi.) Plus, they have a big tree in their front yard that I love but it does block a lot of light (though it also blocks a streetlight in the summer.)

Oddly enough, I'm feeling a tad stressed about moving. I've only seen the house once (well, the inside.) I think it was a grey day when we saw it or there was just so much to take in that I didn't bother remembering the light. But, the living room has a large window AND sliders so you'd think lots of nice light, right? Well, that built on deck/porch thingy takes up the whole back of the house and I'm afraid it's going to block the light from coming in there. The living room is completely open to the kitchen/dr but I don't know... actually, our dr will get some good light at some point, I think, because there's a nice big window there and since there's no neighbours on that side (side lot), we should get the sun! On the other side, the kitchen window and I think there might be the upstairs bathroom window, it'll be blocked by the close neighbours (newer subdvision that likes to have little space between houses. grr.) We don't really have big trees which I'm sad about. I don't think I'll hear the same birds I do here. Plus, I love the sound of the leaves in the rain or wind. The front has A LOT of windows so my bedroom will be nice and bright, I'm thinking. But, because the front foyer is open and then goes to a smallish hall into the kitchen/dr, it may not allow a lot of light. But, it'll be nice to have lit up stairs cause there's actually a window right at the bottom of the stairs and then one on the second floor so it'll shine in on the stairs. I really like that.

I'm also realizing that having a nice open front door area will be VERY nice. This morning, as I was trying to get my stuff on and Timmy's stuff on, being squished by all the kids who are waiting by the front door, blocking my way to the closet, I won't have to deal with that! The closet is actually down the hall a bit but it's just wide open, no little hall that's the width of a doorway. woohoo!

Man, I'm really blabbing on here!

One more thing about the hosue, lol. We get to do the last walkthrough Sat. morn at 11. So, that's exciting! I may bring a pad of paper and make some notes about paint colour.

Oh, I think I sort of decided about the furniture as well. I think we'll stick it out with our sucky couches for now. I may see if Ikea has slipcovers that would fit just cause I absolutely hate that they will not come clean and sometimes, the springs leave dust marks where you were sitting. I think we have to get a new table and chairs. An entertainment centre would be nice but we can make do though that's one thing that wouldn't really get messed up by the kids. lol We also need to get a new double mattress for the girls. So, I think we'll just focus on the mattress and dr table/chairs. I'll want to invest in some nice square table clothes. I have one tablecloth, that's it. And it has grease stains on it. yummy! We did make an appt. with the person we are supposed to see about getting a discount so we go Thurs. night and we'll see what kind of deal we can get. I think we'll look elsewhere for rugs cause friends told us they went to End of the Roll and bought a piece that fit their whole living room and were able to get the edges finished for under $100!

Timmy is nursing cause he's sleepy and dh should be here really soon. So, gotta get ready. Hopefully I drank enough water. I didn't drink 3 glasses cause I didn't pee at 12:15 but more like 10ish.

It's so exciting you are moving!!!  I'd be out of my mind with anxiety and excitement mixed together.  Take a video camera or at least your regular camera.  And take as many pics as you possibly can.  Nobody will think you are weird - trust me, you will not be the first person to take a ton of pics.  My sister videotaped every house she looked at.  I would, too, if we were looking now.  Too hard to remember otherwise.

Our playroom has a gigantic window but I just don't like the light.  I don't like morning light.  I know I'm probably the only person who doesn't like morning light!  It's the side the sun rises on.  It's also the same side as our bedroom so in our bedroom I have a creme-colored shade and creme-colored lace curtains and that changes the light to a more golden color.  But the master bath window is the same side and I still need to do it in there.  It's on my plan for the redecorating - to put up lace curtains and a creme-colored blind in there.  I don't like lace curtains in a bathroom but I really like what it does to the light - filtering it.

Blab as much as you want to about the house.  I don't know how you aren't talking about it more!

I would definitely shop at more than one furniture store before making a big investment like that, no matter what discount you're getting.  For all you know they could be overpriced to compensate for the discount.  And you might fall in love with something somewhere else.  Better to pay a little more then be unhappy later.

I'm definitely worn out but also drowsy.  Stupid PB&J.  The worn out part is from working hard but the drowsy is from eating wrong.  Dumb me!

I really really want to re-clean tomorrow but I bet I don't.  I feel like I'm doing a half-baked job and I know how I am lately - I'm afraid that I won't redo it because I've cleaned so little lately that it will be weeks before I clean again.  Why can't I be more disciplined!

It's hard for me not to do more on the kitchen and dining room but I am waiting to do those later.  I know the regular kitchen stuff will get done because I know I can putter in there even with my MIL here and not feel funny.  I can't exactly go and clean a bathroom or vacuum without looking obvious but cleaning up dishes and wiping down counters is normal.  I dusted the kitchen and dining room and windexed but the regular wiping I'll put off since I need to do higher priority stuff now.  It's just hard to leave it!

Since I last posted I cleaned the boys' bathroom really well except the tub, but it's only been a few days since I cleaned the tub.  For some reason my MIL insists on using that bathroom instead of the better-looking guest one, altho a lot of times she'll use both.  I swear she does it on purpose!  Maybe I attribute too much negative stuff to her but I'm positive she's constantly taking mental notes.  She'll say only good things for a long time and then I'll change something or say that something used to look messy and she'll say "yes, I noticed that" or "I hated how it was" so that bugs me because she is judging constantly but never giving me a chance to explain things.  Like she'll assume that I LIKE something that looks awful or that I don't notice something like peeling paint.  I'll say "I really need to paint in there because it's peeling" and she'll say "well I didn't want to say anything."  Argh!  She also makes so many assumptions but I really need to not let that bug me as much as it does.  Who cares what she is assuming?  The only other people she even talks to are her sister and Scott's brother and I really don't care much about what they think.  It's not like she knows any of my friends or family and can say things that would make them think something bad so I need to just stop worrying about it.  I feel like I can't even say "we're getting a kitten" because right away she'll do her second-guessing thing - whenever we make an announcement of any kind (like we're going on vacation or buying a new car or getting a cat) she always second guesses it.  She even did that when we already thought I wasn't pregnant one time - like we could change it!  I wasn't but that made her at least aware that we were trying and I went to her crying that day and told her how much she hurt me so when we actually did tell her I was pregnant she was better behaved and acted happy.  But the first time (this was with Chane before I was actually pregnant with him) she said it was a bad idea and we couldn't afford it and blah blah blah.  Like, hello?  We are telling you we're having a baby, we're married, we have a house, we're 30 years old and IT'S ALREADY HAPPENED so despite your reservations, just shut up and say congratulations!  Anyway I bet right away she says something like "are you sure you should get another animal?  after all those problems you had with Mowgli?" - as if we should never get another cat because we had one that had a brain tumor at age 13 and peed everywhere before he died.  Duh.  See how crazy I drive myself??  Then she wonders why we don't tell her things like going to Disney or whatever.

So I need a good response when she says "are you sure you should be getting another cat?" tonight.  Can you think of one that will put her in her place without actually sounding intentionally mean??

She has so many good qualities but I swear she makes me crazy.  And who knows, this could be a good medication night (j/k I don't think she takes meds but she should!) and she may be all positive and nice.  You never know!  Maybe that's where Chane gets it???  LOL  His unpredictable craziness I mean!

Almost time to get the kiddos.  I don't feel bad about being on here - I made myself drag the vacuum down to assuage my guilt about posting.  This was my diet soda break.  Now I need to go clean up the hall bath which is usually clean but could use a light wiping down plus the floor is pretty crumby from all that junk we stored in there - lots of dusty things all over it from the hardware and stuff.  And I need to vacuum the steps and do a quick straighten of our bedroom.  I know she'll want to see the master bathroom so the bedroom will need to be straight.  I think that's it for high priority other than the kitchen and cooking.  Need to look at my lists I guess!

Oops I went off on my MIL tangent and forgot to say what all I did.

Cleaned the boys' bathroom really well and went back and Windexed it to make it shiny.  Vacuumed and mopped it and the laundry room.  Vacuumed the living room.  Windexed the living room, microwave, rangehood, fridge front, chandelier, tv, french doors, living room mirror, banister (not as good as mr clean but got the worst smudges off) and one lamp.  That's enough windexing for me!

going to get kids - hope your ultrasound went well!
