How are you doing today, Joni? That sucks that you couldn't sleep :(

I'm in an awful mood. I'm getting really ticked at this house. I'm irritated with the kids, Delaney wants to sit on me and I do not want to be touched. Timmy broke a 'boob' light at the new house. I only paid $2 but still.

AUGH, Delaney just woke up Timmy. I'm so beyond ticked.

So yeah, now I'm worried about money.. we're screwed if I lose any daycare kids. We've racked up some debt because of all of this house stuff. augh

I just talked to my caseworker about safteying the new house and nwo I'm nervous that we won't get that up and running.

Augh, this has taken me an hour to write.... just had to call a daycare parent because their kid didn't show up this morning and I didn't know if I had to pick her up from school. Not sure why it's my responsibility to find this out... augh.

Sounds like a rough day Sara!  What's a boob light?  Scott didn't go in to work on time - he got up and helped me with the kids and took them to school so I could sleep.  He ended up staying home too with a headache.  I slept 'til 11.  So 4-6 and then 8-11 = 5 hours but that seemed to be plenty.  Funny how 1-6 wouldn't have been enough tho!  I hope you can get away from the kids for awhile tonight.  Seems like they have this radar on the days you don't want to be touched to want to touch you more.  I think they need more reassurance on the days they sense you need space and don't know enough to stay away.  My husband gets like that too!  Even after 17 years!

Going to update my list.

I'm glad Scott was able to help you out! Definitely doesn't sound like enough sleep but if you woke up feeling good, that's good!

Ah, a boob light. They are those semi-circle lights that you attach right to the ceiling. Then they usually have a metal thing in the middle. They kinda look like boobs...

The ones I got for $2 at Wal-mart are similar but much smaller (only takes one bulb rather than 2) and the glass is marbled. They look much cheaper than that but for $2, I'll take what I can get! lol

Dh did take all the kids to Em's swimming lesson. It's kinda nice to have just a quiet place here. I'm not feeling the greatest though. I was supposed to watch the kids for dh while he did some computer stuff that has to get done. Instead, I dozed on the couch (but the kids kept themselves busy) and now my back is giving me issues. Plus, my stomach is not happy with me. Maybe bean burritos weren't a good idea.

So, I've got about 1/2 hr before they get home. I'm not sure if I'll attempt to get the kids to fall asleep at th enew house so I can work some more on the kitchen tonight or not. Dh is going over and is going to try to get a friend from work to help out for a bit. The rest on the couch has me feeling pretty awake now, actually. But, I think I'll lose steam really easily and I'm not sure how easily the kids will fall asleep. So, maybe I should just stay at home tonight and plan to have supper ready asap tomorrow and then we all head over to the new house. I'm going to try to go over tomorrow during the day since I'll just have Timmy. I need to get the kitchen done!!!

Well, I think I'll do something productive around here and hope that I don't end up throwing up. augh

Is there any way you could get some help with the kids and just go do a couple of long days there on the weekend?  Even if you have to pay a responsible teenager?  Just a thought.  For some reason even when they're older and very good it's so much harder to get things done with the kids around.  And with a 1yo it sounds impossible.

I'm in an "after scouts" bad mood.  Not sure what we got ourselves into with this new pack.  They spend almost no money on the program or the kids but spend it on stupid stuff like catering their banquet.  Then there's this stick-up-her-butt woman who leads the 4th grade den.  She doesn't even have a kid in my den but found out I took my kids for a "trash hike" (i.e. walk to the park while picking up trash) and went to the Scout executive (paid very high level guy at Council) without even going to our pack leadership to complain that I left the church property without a tour permit.  Which is a permit that you get signed by leadership then mail to Council then get back that basically says they take responsibility for your trip.  Well it was an 80 degree fluke of a day last week and I didn't want to keep the kids cooped up upside - this church has no outside property other than a parking lot (our old one had grounds and gardens) so I couldn't take them out for anything other than a hike.  There was no actual destination.  But the fact that she went over everyone's head is irking both Scott and me.  As soon as we got there tonight we got a sheet with rules saying we can't leave the church without a permit which sucks.  But then Scott said the cubmaster, Mike, took him aside and told him to make sure I know that this wasn't a slap on my wrist for last week, that Diane from the Webelos I den went way above everyone's head to complain.  I just don't get people like that.  I told Scott we should just not support her trips but he said he doesn't want the kids to miss out.  She's the one who put together the Gettysburg trip last weekend - she and her husband are Civil War Re-enactors so it was a good trip but I feel like, screw her.

This is the second week in a row I've come home in a bad mood from Scouts.  Also I took decorate-your-own cupcakes as a good behavior reward for my den and didn't think it thru well enough - I put everything out on blankets and had these klutzy 7yos all tramping around in the toppings.  Maybe not my best idea but I am getting these feelings that my parents in my den think I'm an idiot.  Between having my kids hike in the dark last week and then fuel up on sugar I just feel like they think I'm a total flake but I'm trying to have fun and keep things interesting.  Ahhh.

Also I promised my own kids that we'd get snowballs on the way home (forgot about the cupcakes but Braeden had to choose) if they didn't get three strikes since they have a tendency to get rowdy and fight at the church after their meetings are both over and in the car on the way home.  Well Chane was so awful after the meeting that he managed to get all 3 strikes and then begged me to take one back and I didn't.  I can't back down on this - we have to get this straightened out and follow thru and I know this time I did things right with the warnings and the strikes and the clear expectations.  But it was still awful to stop for Braeden and not him and he's upstairs crying himself to sleep now!

I hope you can get some more done on the house.  I'd love to see those pictures if you ever get time to post them!

Well, our moving day is this Saturday so we're running out of time. ahhh

Aw man, that sucks about the scouts stuff. What a punk of a lady. It's not like you were doing a 'bad' field trip. augh. And, I dont' think you seem flakey at all! I bet the kids are having a blast with you!

Ack, I know the feeling when you let one child get something because of good behaviour and not the other. I feel so mean when I do that but yet, it has to be done. I probably give in too much or let things slide so that they both can be rewarded too often. I'm so tired of Em's attitude and Delaney is starting to become a lazy punk. augh

We didnt' get pictures of the upstairs. augh I totally forgot! And, the camera is still at the new house. One day... one day.

Well, I was feeling all gung-ho and then I hit a wall. I started dishes but that's as far as I got. I feel like dh is working his butt off at the new house so I should work on this house. Plus, looking at our house, you wouldn' tknow we'r emoving cause that's how little we've packed :( We're focused so much on getting that house ready, we have no time to pack! Though, in my head, I feel like we will just move over lots of stuff rather than put it into boxes but uh, that probably won't work.

I'm going to make a mini list and then head to bed. Actually, I'm going to start a list for tomorrow too.

-finish washing dishes
-wipe off counters, table
-switch laundry
-quick pick up of living room
-lay out my clothes for tomorrow
