Scott had to leave this morning on a last minute trip to Georgia.  His plane leaves at 10 so I'll be worried until I hear he lands!

As usual, I'm inspired by him leaving.  It changes the way the day rolls out I think.  I'll miss him though.  I made up a list of things to do before Saturday.  Saturday officially kicks off our "get stuff done around the house" week.  I'm still not sure if he was able to get off - he just says he's going to try.  He said he's actually looking forward to getting this stuff done.  I just hope we can buckle down and not do our usual distraction thing of lunch out or snuggling and watching tv instead of working!  Maybe one or two of those days can have that kind of thing in it but we need to bust our butts.

I need to clean up the house since I have trouble doing other things with it a mess.  As usual it's a surface mess and not terrible but it looks really bad and I'm unmotivated.  I think I'll drill on here.  Sara are you around?

Before I come back at 9 I will either shower and do my hair and makeup, etc. or I will get some real picking up done.  I need to run errands this morning and would like to do it without wet hair so I probably should shower.  Whatever - I'll get something done and it won't be on the computer!

yuck i am so smelly.

straightened kitchen and dining room, picked some things up here and there, cleaned the counters and table

so a good start

also talked on phone with scott while he waits for his plane which is why i'm late.  and answered an email and counted how many bon-ton booklets i have to return today.

we made $840 selling the booklets minus the incentives we're giving the kids (patches and gift certificates) so i think we are somewhere around $760.  hopefully it will be like last year where bon-ton sent us a check for $384.  it would be great to break a thousand.  i'm happy with $760 though - it's pretty good for the amount of work we put into it.  we'd have to sell more than $2400 worth of scout popcorn to get $760 and that would be wayyyyyy more work (for the scouts to sell it and then deliver it and for the pack to do the paperwork, pick up the popcorn from the trucking company, etc).

Just skimmed your post. Hope you have a good, motivating day!

I just sat down at the computer and started getting a migraine. Soooo, there goes my plan to deal with my cards this morning.

Here's hoping I'm able to get an hour nap, sleep off the migraine so I wake up feeling ready to go and that Timmy will stay sleeping once I move him from the couch to my bed.

Hopefully I'll be back soon, ready to go.

aww that sucks.  i know how a headache can change all your plans.  hope you are feeling better soon.  i can't even think when i have a headache like that.

had to hit snooze on my alarm because i was moisturizing when it went off but i did mostly finish up before it went off again.  still need to put my makeup on and get dressed in real clothes - right now i'm in sweatpants and a filthy t-shirt i got out of the laundry until i can gather up real clothes.  i'm not even in underwear yet!  but my hair is all chemical-ed up, my face is moisturized and i got a few things done.

  • cleaned off the steps.  didn't put any of it away but it's all upstairs on my bed now to deal with.
  • picked up the living room
  • straightened some of the laundry room
  • rebooted the laundry
  • swept the kitchen and dining room
  • showered
  • ate toast
  • wiped down the boys' toilet and sink (just with a towel tho so it looks clean but isn't)

going to set my alarm for 11 next and hopefully get the following done before i have to leave for errands:

  • gather stuff for errands - bonton booklets, checkbook, list
  • get dressed to shoes
  • do my makeup
  • finish my hair once it dries enough to work with
  • do some more picking up
  • maybe wash dishes - not in the mood to do that yet - i may put them off 'til this afternoon (they are neatly stacked and the counters are clean so i'm not that worried about it)
  • type in week's list
  • check lareda email
  • make menu for week

errand list:

lowe's - contractors bags, folder

staples - onion skin paper, envelope

ac moore - list on counter

bon-ton - drop off booklets

clearview - pick up nail clippers

grocery store - ground beef, rolls, pumpkin pie stuff, crescents

  • typed in this week's list
  • picked up some more things
  • checked my lareda email
  • made menu for the week
  • typed in some thoughts i had

  • pick up more stuff
  • do some vacuuming
  • make dinner
  • clean up dinner

I am tired and having hot flashes.  It's really cold here so I keep sticking my head outside!  We had snow flurries today - pretty early for us.  It was exciting even though I hate snow!

I'm losing motivation on my list.  I think I'm going to narrow it down.  I feel like knocking off on real work for the night.  I'm also sorely tempted to order pizza even though I know we can't afford it.  I am feeling too lazy to even go get stuff from the dollar menu at Wendy's!

  • cut up pineapple
  • help braeden with his homework
  • game with braeden
  • pick up chane (he's at gymnastics for after-school program so they'll return him to the school around 4)
  • sort the popcorn, put notes on it DID ALL THE PRELIM WORK WITH THE ADDRESS LIST
  • c's homework and agenda
  • supervise the kids' chores
  • put away anything from the errands
  • pick up more stuff
  • do some vacuuming PROBABLY SKIP
  • make dinner MAYBE SKIP
  • clean up dinner MAYBE SKIP
  • finish the dishes MAYBE SKIP
  • take yard debris to my parents' PROBABLY SKIP
  • get the kids to bed at a decent time

I think I'm going to work 'til 6, order a pizza if I can keep the kids from starving 'til then.  Then we'll eat it in bed and watch a tv show and I'll try to get them to bed early.  They haven't been getting enough sleep lately.

So I'll check back in at 6 and this is what I hope to have done:

  • Help Braeden with his homework
  • Have Braeden take out recycling and laundry room & garage trash, possibly other trash out in garage
  • Have Chane bring down hamper, clean up pencils and Clone Wars stuff in his room
  • Pick up 200 things
  • Vacuum living room and steps going up
  • Clean Angel's box, vac up litter in her room
  • Bring in remaining junk from car
  • Sort out the popcorn - hopefully I can deliver some of it tomorrow
  • Finish the dishes
  • Fold the laundry that's in the dryer

Not a big deal to do all of this but I'm so unbearly hot despite the house being set so low.  Mostly my face - I'm so hot it feels like my face is burnt crackling paper...

Yikes, are you getting sick?

Sounds like you were quite productive and having a 'fun' night sounds well deserved!!

My day was a total write-off. I ended up geting 2 migraines and did NOTHING today. The walk to the school helped a bit so I'm feeling a tad better now. We're going to go to Sam's to get some water (our fridge water still isn't hooked up) and milk and then to the library to change our address. Em has a school trip on Thurs and I think if her address isn't changed, they won't let her take out a book.

I'm having a ticked off day at dh today. Not sure I'm totally justified but I'm just ticked. He's going to some motivational kinda meeting thing which I think will be good for him but it means he'll be gone before 7 likely not home til 11. And with me doing errands now, well, it'll be 2 days in a row of me being on complete kid duty. Then, Friday night as well. yippeee. He thought he was helping me out by dumping out the laundry (3 loads) last night, into the living room. He started folding a bit but now it's all there and means I have to deal with it tonight or else it'll get dirty and it's not fair to the kids. augh.

I'm not in the best mood. Plus, I have a sore throat cropping up. Man, this is poopy.

TWO migraines?  how do you get two?  sounds like not such a great day for you!!!

i'd be irritated too.  it's hard not to be.  at least he thought he was helping but i'm sure that doesn't make it much better.

i don't think i'm getting sick altho that may be it.  i think it's hormonal.

a sore throat too - could you have strep?  that would certainly stink.

i did some things but the picking up is a problem.  i am just unmotivated to pick up all the time knowing how quickly everything gets messed up.

man i hate being overheated!  i need to go stick my head out again.  but then i feel even warmer coming back in.

i'm supposed to be on here ordering pizza.  i have a coupon for free cinnastix if i order online.  i promised b i'd only be on here a minute!

here's a bad thing - when you order from domino's online you can actually watch a tracker showing you what phase your pizza is in.  so i'm starving to death staring at the screen waiting for my pizza to go in the oven.  it says "lisa began custom making your pizza at 6:01 PM" and the "prep" part is blinking.  i gotta get out of here!

How cool is that for the pizza! I didn't know they did that. I'd have a hard time not sitting at the computer, refreshing every 5 seconds.

Yeah, I fell asleep after I got the first one but woke up to the flashy things again! augh.

Man, my house is awful and I've done nothing but I have to head to bed. I'm definitely getting a cold and now I'm feeling pukey. Yippee. So, I'm going to hope like mad that my caseworker doesn't come by tomorrow or else I'm screwed. I'm planning to leave early for school so I'm hoping that helps. Shoot, gotta remember to have D's swimming stuff ready to go cause we'll likely get home from helping out with the school, just in time to go.

Off I go to bed. Have a good night, Joni!

I'm up but barely functioning. I most definitely have a cold. Hopefully it doesn't have the energy draining affect.

I didn't realize how bad my house was until I walked downstairs this morning. Oh man, disaster zone big time. augh

Gotta get going on my morning routine.

Hi Sara

I came down here at 8 to check in but I'm trying to write for an hour a day so I did that first.  I actually only lasted 40 minutes of writing but then I re-read what I wrote and messed around a little.

I'm going to start a Wednesday thread.  I was sorely tempted to go back to bed.  We went to bed early (before 8) and the kids were snoozing by 8:30 since I let them sleep on the floor by the bed so there was no real messing around other than some Christmas discussion that I would tell them to stop and then I'd join in, making it hard for them to stop when I was talking too!  But they did fall asleep pretty quickly.  I didn't fall asleep 'til about 9:30.  Despite my hot flashes all day I was freezing cold in bed.  I'm having a hard time lately controlling my temperature!  The freezing thing started after I gave birth to Chane and has happened off and on through the years but lately it's been worse than ever, probably because the house isn't so warm to begin with.  But it comes from within so it's not just the house.  This time instead of being miserable I got up and added even more blankets which helped a little.  When it happens it's like I have ice water in my veins.  It used to just last about 10 minutes but I guess because I'm legitimately cold due to the coolness of the house, it's been dragging on and on lately.  It's hard to add a blanket when it happens because any air touching me whatsoever feels like icy wind blowing over damp pjs.  Boy do I have issues :-)

Anyway I got enough sleep but was still tempted to go back to bed.  I'm glad I came down here - I think I will be okay now that I've been up 3 hours.  I need to take a sinus pill and get a shower - that will help even more.  I added 2 degrees to my thermostat so it's 68 now instead of 66.  That is in the hallway though - it's actually colder elsewhere.  My hallway where the thermostat is heats up faster so the temp on the thermostat is not the real house temp.  I meant to say that to you the other day - your new house may have the thermostat placed in a spot that gets warm fast so it cuts off the heat before the rest of the house is warm.  That plus the lack of carpeting would definitely do it!  I know I need to weatherproof too - there are doors in my house where I can actually see sunlight coming through - uh, not good.  Not to mention my window seals that are broken.  Hopefully if we get the curtains all done in the playroom next week that will help block some cold coming in.  I remember before the addition that covering our old French doors that opened up from the dining room into the back yard changed the temperature in the kitchen and dining room dramatically.  And they were just thin calico homemade curtains.  I bet if I ever get around to weatherpoofing really well it would cut down on the dust around here too!

Going to start a Wednesday thread.  Sorry to hear about your cold.  Hopefully you won't get a headache today too.
