Well I have been very lame today and not getting stuff done and now I realize I should have looked at my list because I really needed to go to the store. I'll have to go on the way home from Rocky's. Pretty much the only things I've done all day are: shower, hair clean the tub swish n swipe the boys' bath start sorting the kids' shirts to hang fold the laundry in the dryer and start a new batch I've spent a lot of time lying around reading. Why does Angel keep climbing on me? She's on the keyboard now lol. We don't allow cats on the tables so I should boot her off but I think it's cute. Will I think it's cute when she's an adult? I guess I should decide if she's allowed on my desk before she gets any older! |

It sounds like you're doing better than me! I've done little bits here and there but really nothing. I guess I could look at helping out at the school for 1.5 hrs (but missing swimming lessons, augh) and then making $20 for watching a friend's daughter (which I feel really guilty for accepting but at the same time, I watch her quite often so it's more than a favour.) The cold is kicking my butt. It's not totally unbearable but it's just a pain. I'm really looking forward to going to bed too but will NOT allow myself until the living room is picked up and the main floor is swept/mopped and dishes are done. I've done the kitchen so it shouldn't need to be done again today. I'm going to make sure the only dishes I have to wash are snack and supper dishes. I'm going to try to sweep/mop the rest of the main floor, minus the lr but I'll have to re-sweep after the kids leave or maybe after supper. waaa, I'm so tired and my head is giving me issues... left over from yesterday. Ok, I need a mini list. I'm going to do a 1/2 hr and see where that leaves me: -load into dryer -wash Timmy -make banana cookies -put away dry dishes -bring up all clean clothes, bring up big clothes and put on T's bed -make a tea for me (going to try something that isn't chamomile) -clear dr table |

if you feel guilty accepting the money, maybe you could ask her to watch your kids sometimes. it was a different situation because she wasn't really a "friend" and i watched ian before and after school, but when ian's mom asked me to watch her other child sometimes and then started asking me to watch both of them at night so they could go out, i refused to take money but just said something like "that's okay, you can take mine some time if it makes you feel better." then the one time i asked, she said no but she never asked me again! then at least you know if it's a favor between friends or if she is perceiving you as an easy way to get her kid watched... of course with a friend it's different but it might be worth a shot. unless you'd prefer just to get paid but keep that in mind if she starts asking you to watch her during non-daycare hours... well you have a cold and at least one small kid there. i have no excuse. i started cleaning out the gift closet which is really the "junk" closet and have it sorted into 4 piles. at least there's not much more than the 4 categories in there but it was really crammed and disorganized. about twice a year i go thru it and at least group the stuff that ends up in there. i find things i've been missing! anyway i have a pile of gifts that need to go to erik's room, which is my christmas "staging area" as scott calls it. i normally use the hall guest bathroom once the presents outgrow the gift closet but angel still lives in there at night. and erik's room is pretty empty. i also have a pile of stuff i'm not ready to part with in case i find a use for it (all decorating stuff that i've taken from one place and don't have a place for but still like it) and a pile of novelty things for parties and holidays like leprechaun hats and easter grass and miscellaneous stuff like streamers. i'll probably throw the holiday stuff in the attic and keep the generic party stuff in the gift closet still. the other pile is the dreaded "miscellaneous junk that belongs elsewhere in the house" but it is not too too bad. some i will throw out. there's not too much that i need to find a place for. so that distracted me to come on here and update my christmas list with the things i found for the kids that i'd forgetten about. just a few shirts - i bought b&c camo shirts since they outgrew theirs and have been asking for the past few years for new ones to dress in when they play army. forgot about those and also some miscellaneous generic gifts that i probably won't use this year - re-gifting stuff or stuff i got free or super cheap and put aside to give away. i'll hold them a few years - one is a box of notecards that i can't remember if i already gave to someone since i bought a few sets of the same ones and it would be embarrassing to give them to the same teacher twice! i did find three little ceramic dishes that i gave out last year filled with candy - i saved about 9 but 6 are damaged from my car accident - why didn't i throw them away? so i'll toss those and give out the remaining 3 with candy in them to teachers - i don't think i gave them away to teachers last year but just in case i won't give them to the teacher braeden has every year, his gifted teacher. i won't give her the notecards either just in case! :-) i need to at least get the christmas stuff put away in erik's room before the kids get home plus any tempting stuff that they might get into. |

Man, I'm slow today. i didn't even get my list done :( And now, I'm feeling extremely wiped. Good job on sorting out the gift closet! I've been dealing with my gift box thing and it's not fun. I'm going to have to get rid of lots just cause it hasn't been touched in so long and can not be given away in the condition it is. This friend has watched my kids a bit, usually when dh and I had counselling. I never gave her money and I feel bad. But, I guess I saw that more as a favour thing. I know there's things when I've taken one or both of her girls and wouldn't expect any money, for sure. But, yeah, when I watch her youngest during daycare hours, they usually pay me and quite well. And, honestly, I don't think I'd be too happy if I didn't get paid (but I still feel a tiny bit guilty.) So, I guess I just have to figure out how I feel about all this. lol I think I'll give them a nice family gift for Christmas. Ok, gotta check on the cookies. Then, who knows what but I'm ready for bed. |

yeah that's a totally different situation. i wouldn't feel guilty about the watching during daycare hours. since you run a business and are limited on how many kids you can take. i would just say please let me know if you guys every want to go out - i'd love to have the kids over. that was a pretty ambitious list for half an hour. i've done almost nothing. i took the christmas stuff up and made myself another soda. that's about it. oh and read the headline on my.yahoo. i came down here to get mandarin oranges for snack. they can get them themselves but i know it makes them feel good to have the oranges in a bowl. like i was thinking of them. so i'll go do that... |
