Man, I'm kicking and screaming inside... I sooooo do not want to get back into routine already. After having 4 days of nothing-ness, being able to sleep in, nap, etc, I do not want to get back into waking up early, doing the morning routine in a zombie-like fashion while dealing with petty fights that comes along with having Laura and Gavin here. Sure, I'll have 9-3 with just me and Delaney and Timmy but I seem to just get going in the afternoon or if I've had a nap, it's around 3 that I conk out. I just dread the daycare stuff. I panic about my caseworker showing up which tells me that I've got to get on top of things and take care of a few things that aren't mandatory but suggested (battery-smoke detector on the upper floor since all 3 floors have wired in detectors, railing for basement stairs, etc) not to mention, I feel like I'm not on top of the paperwork or keeping a clean/organized house. The kids don't care but I do and I'm sure she wouldn't be too keen on the state of our basement right now (not dangerous but definitely hard to walk through the toys!)

I think the panic I have for my caseworker coming outweighs the 'annoyingness' of having other kids besides my own here. Sad, eh!?

I want to make a to do list for tomorrow but I honestly don't know how I'll feel. I'm not sure what stage this cold is at but it's annoying. I think it's on the mend but can't be sure. Plus, not sure how the before school stuff will go. I have stuff I HAVE to get done tonight (putting away Christmas stuff and dishes) so not sure when I'll make it to bed (hopefully before 11.) AHH

Anyways, I'll likely be here as I think I need a drilling day, just so I don't waste my first day back into the routine. My routine would be shopping for Christmas stuff or camp out at the computer for too much of the day so I'm hoping to avoid that and turn over a new leaf. What a concept... to get housework stuff done during the day so that my night can be free for my family and I can go to bed at a decent hour!!

I hope you're hanging in there, Joni. Gabriele and Jac, how were your holidays?!

Ok, I've done very little. The morning went ok, kids got along well, etc. But, we were late for school :( I thought we were doing well, time-wise but apparently not. It didn't help that the sidewalks were icy so we had to walk a little slower than normal. When I got home, I couldn't feel my legs, it's so stinkin' cold!!

I have the roast going in the cp and I've been keeping up with dishes, kinda washing as we use them. I sorted through some receipts and found the Guitar Hero reciept (the drums and guitar are going wonky on us so we're going to try to return it.)

Other than that, that's about it.

I was thinking of having a nap but after vegging at the computer for so long, i dont' want to let myself do that. Plus, Delaney is home so I dont' like napping when she's home.

Sooo, I'm going to post a list and come back when I'm done. I'm hoping it'll be an hour-hour and a half.

-make lunch (tuna sandwiches and cukes?)
-cook potatoes in microwave for supper
-pull up twice baked potatoes recipe
-wipe coffee table, bring book downstairs
-cut up carrots and have them in container for supper
-find blueberry muffin recipe
-finish sorting through receipts and clear off bed
-get T to sleep
-clear off dr table if there's stuff on there
-set up after school snack (nachos and cheese and figure out what fruit), bring up can of cheese
-pull out daycare bag, get timesheet set up for Jan, look through book and see what all I have to catch up on

Next chunk of time:
-put together potatoes
-call midwife, when is appt?
-call dr's, make appt for T for his 18 month booster
-go through D's school stuff, read her library book, get her to do home reading
-make blueberry muffins
-make up menu for this week and shopping list
-find basket or container for pens, pencils on island, throw out ones that don't work, sharpen pencils

Augh, I did end up having a 45 min nap or so. Timmy is still napping. yay

I do feel a tad better. Maybe I should nap until this cold is gone and I get back into the routine.

I got a call from the daycare office asking if I would be interested in an almost 11 yr old, just after school. So, that sounds pretty good but I think they're giving the mom a few numbers and we'll see if I hear from her. Funny how my regular caseworker goes on holidays and that's when I get the calls (from people filling in for her.) So, it tells me that there's something about me that makes her not ask me or avoid me. sigh

I almost got my first list done. I'm going to work like mad now for the next 45 mins to finish it and my second list. Gotta add give kitty dewormer. I hope Timmy sleeps for most of it!

hi sara
hanging in here but not great.  hope your cold is better!  i'm still sick and both scott & i are too sore to do much.  house is falling apart.  i've barely slept since the accident and neither has he.  he just left for his first day of work since the accident - he's miserable and it's icy so i hope he gets there okay.  i'll try to be back soon to help you stay motivated - sorry to bow out on you!
