Really, we're doing nothing for the superbowl, we likely won't even watch a bit of it but it's relevant for today!

Dh has been in bed all day. He helped a ton on Friday so I'm glad I can wait on him today and return the favour. He rarely gets sick but when he does, it IS the end of the world. lol A headache will have him totally out of it because he rarely gets those too. And, he likes over-analyzing it, rather than just accepting that he's sick.

Man, one of my daycare kids who was here on Friday likely caught our germ and threw up yesterday :( (Em's talking on the phone with her right now.) I was torn because the kids would have already been exposed from Timmy plus me and D (we got it Thurs. around supper) and it was a PD Day so I didn't want to leave these parents hanging. With Andrew home from work, and them being older kids, I thought it would be ok. I'm kicking myself for not handling the whole thing better though. Gavin and laura, my 2 region kids, weren't there. If they were going to be, I would have called in sick as I don't think I can let Andrew be in charge of them since I'm under contract.

Ok, I'm blabbing too much.

I'm slowly making progress. I feel like I've done quite a bit but want to cry when I look around and see not much done. I'm so motivated but my body says otherwise and I'm starting to get pretty tired. Plus, I know going gung-ho today means tomorrow and maybe even Tues, I'll be too wiped to keep up with the usual messes and be right back at square one.

All the kids are doing much better so I think I can have a good night's sleep tonight. So, I'm going to resist having a nap and get to bed early so I can start off the week on the right foot.

Here's some ta da's to inspire me!
-3 loads washed, 2 loads dried (pillows from couch put in dryer to fluff up, smell better, etc), still have 3 pillows and 2 blankets that are air drying and will likely take a very long time. augh
-gathered up stained clothing
-gathered up laundry and sorted into towels, bedding, clothes
-washed dishes, wiped counters, cleaned microwave
-cleaned up cat food area and re-filled
-vinegar on pukey couch and mattress
-2 garbage cans/puke buckets are soaking with lysol in them
-had a package of sample lysol wipes that I hadn't been using so wiped the main floor doorknobs and switches and upstairs too
-played the wii with the kids here and there
-dealt with a ton of fighting which is leaving me feeling EXTREMELY frustrated... yeah, they most definitely are feeling better
-dealt with a ton of picking up the kitten when they should just let her SLEEP
-got Timmy to nap, twice though the first time he woke up when I put him down
-made various snacks, etc
-took out kitchen garbage, gathered up garbages from upstairs minus the litter/diaper one

Still must do before tomorrow:
-figure out supper
-bring dirty laundry downstairs
-strip D's bed, re-make
-clean main floor bathroom, clean upstairs bathroom
-put away clean, dry dishes
-sweep/mop kitchen/dr/front hall
-pick up living room, sweep/mop floor
-get backpacks ready (getting D's ready for Tues cause tomorrow night may be crazy)
-wash 1 2 3, dry 1 2 3 4
-lay out clothes for tomorrow
-figure out menu for tomorrow
-lysol game controllers, phones and remotes
-give E and D and T showers, cut nails if needed, etc

Would like to do but not a must:
-finish cleaning garbage cans
-clear off island
-empty 1 2 cat litters
-clean wood on main floor and in our bedroom
-finish cleaning up the girls' room
-vacuum out duct by front door
-vacuum couches, spot clean them
-sweep up crackers in my room
-put away laundry
-spend some time picking up the basement
-sweep and mop 1 2 stairs
-windex back sliders, mirrors
-hang up curtains on sliders
-find homes for plants, move plant shelf out to porch, put Guitar Hero in basement, move side table and rocking chair
-get timesheet ready to mail and sent
-get coupon train ready to mail and sent, plus post to group
-get to Sears to buy new pillows? (they have a sale that ends today on these Eco-friendly pillows for $10. I noticed Em's pillow is yellow-ish so probably a good time to replace plus one of our body pillows didn't make it out of the wash too well and I know it's old so I should look for a new one of those)
-get Caramilk ice cream complaint ready and sent (dh bought these cones a while ago that were for a special dessert and they were disgusting...)
-spend some time tidying up my room
-get clothes soaking in oxiclean
-hang spider plant
-menu for the week
-make muffins?

Ok, chicken strips have been eaten and we had fruit to go along with it. Timmy threw up again :( I really don't know what to think. He was the first one to get the stomach thing either Mon or Tues. night and hasn't missed a day without puking.. wait, yesterday I think he was good. Andrew thinks he keeps on catching it from us but if it's the same bug, how is that possible? I'm thinking it's just cause he's younger that it's taking a while for his stomach to get back to normal. He definitely hasn't been eating normal but none of us have been. He did have a chicken strip, bananas and nectarines.

Soo, Timmy has had 2 baths! lol Also, half of the living room is mopped to clean up his puke.

I'm feeling much better so it must have been because I was hungry. The girls were starving too. I think I can pretty much plan on a normal eating day tomorrow but still try to stick to lighter meals.

The girls wanted to go through the stuff on their dressers so while there's a mess up there now because Delaney is stalled and needs my help but we stopped for dinner, we did add some more stuff to the Value Village bags and threw out some messed up chapsticks, etc. Small stuff but it's purging and organizing something!!

I'm still really motivated but trying not to go crazy. I think once I get the initial stuff dealt with like clean beds, clean bathrooms, tidied main floor and backpack stuff done, I'll see if dh wants to watch a movie tonight or something.

-wash 1 2 3, dry 1 2 3 4
-lay out clothes for tomorrow
-figure out menu for tomorrow
-lysol game controllers, phones and remotes
-give E and D and T showers, cut nails if needed, etc... gotta do T's nails when he's sleeping and brush Em's hair and check her toe nails
*-wipe off coffee table
-do supper dishes
-find out if Brae is coming tomorrow, is she coming Mon-Wed?
-strip my bed, remake
-clear off dr table, wipe
-put away DS stuff
-toilet paper upstairs
-hang up coats, snowpants
-get stuff ready tonight for soya bean waffles for breakfast
-take out kitchen garbage at the end of the night or morning

Would like to do but not a must:
-finish cleaning garbage cans
-clear off island
-empty 1 2 cat litters.... move to must do list? They are so stinky and the upstairs one is full

Hi Sara
Mail me some of your motivation!  I just want to wrinkle up my nose like Samantha on Bewitched and be done!

Poor Timmy.  Maybe he is just puking longer because babies puke more naturally than we do.  Hopefully that is it.

I don't watch the superbowl either and we don't have a party but Scott was really into it and bummed when the Steelers won.  The Steelers are a local team so there will be lots of people happy here today.  Scott wanted just about anyone BUT them to win!  The Ravens, which is Scott's team since we are from Baltimore, almost made it to the Superbowl but lost against the Steelers two weeks ago.  He was pretty unhappy that night!  I bet at least three of my Scouts say "The Steelers won the Superbowl" for sharing tonight.  As though it's something they did but I know of at least three who live for football which I think is kind of sad for an 8yo.  I mean, loving football is not sad but having nothing else to share other than that their team won is sad.

My house isn't horrible but it's pretty dirty.  Especially dusty.  We had to clean up for Braeden's little birthday thing but since it was just two boys and no parents I didn't dust.  We did clean bathrooms and pick up a lot just to make sure he wouldn't be embarrassed by anything.  But I figured 11yo boys wouldn't notice dust!

I have Chane home today.  Sigh...  I doubt he's really sick but after letting Braeden stay home for over a week how can I say no to him?  I told him absolutely no video or computer games and am going to push him to go in late.  I need to go to York to return the temp tags on our new car which we picked up Saturday and also pay $250 towards the Jamboree Braeden is going to.  It's going to cost us $1100 - ack!  Not to mention associated expenses -that's just the entrance fee.  But it's not just the Jamboree which only comes around every 4 years but also the 100th anniversary of Scouting so it will be a very big deal and we don't want him to miss it.  Scott will be going as a staff member I think - they don't let parents go along unless they are staff.  He still has to apply for a job on staff - I'm pretty sure he hasn't done that yet.  It's limited to only a very small number of Scouts per geographic area so he got Braeden signed up in September even though it's not until summer of 2010.  He's not even a Boy Scout yet so when it rolls around he'll be one of the youngest there - he will officially be a Boy Scout in February.

I'm babbling.  So I need to run a big errand with a not very sick kid - hopefully he'll go on to school.

I also need to refresh what's in the washer (already started that, rewashing with vinegar), soak and wash whites since Scott has no socks, and find the Toys R Us receipt which I have no idea where to look.  The dreaded job of the day.  Oh yeah and prepare for my den meeting including shopping for it.

Yesterday was gorgeous here but it's back to freezing cold today.  I wish we'd had time and energy to finish the Christmas stuff outside and vacuum out the van - if I have to vacuum it in this weather it will really suck!

Back with a list.

  • Reboot laundry in washer
  • Get whites ready to soak (meaning turn all of B's socks right side out - why can't he get into the habit of taking them off correctly - I usually make him come and turn them all right side out but today I can't)
  • Soak whites in oxiclean and lemon juice (do we have lemon juice?)
  • Find Toys R Us receipt
  • Scout store
  • Apple Chevrolet
  • Make bed (part of my new habit thingie - I want to make the bed and keep the sink shiny all during February)

lol on the socks... Emily does that. I had Andrew bring up a load of laundry and he asked why there's dirty stuff in it too. I said no, it should be all clean. It's cause there were a bunch of socks all bunched up (I don't bother fixing the socks...  could that be why our socks look awful?! lol)

Honestly, I have no clue where that motivation came from. Maybe the nicer weather and the fresh air I had going through the house. I'm still feeling pretty motivated today but frustrated at how easily my floors get dirty. sigh I already have crushed cereal by the front door which totally has me puzzled.. I can only assume it's from Laura who brought in dry Life cereal and somehow it fell and then was crushed. I'm feeling a tad sore though and I stayed up late cause Timmy woke up and I just chilled with dh plus I needed lots of time to unwind after being on the go. This morning, I woke up with a sore throat. augh... I keep on smelling puke too, smelled it at the grocery store in certain sections. I sure hope I don't have some on me somewhere and its' just my nose going weird from being around puke so much!

Aw, hope Chane goes to school for you! Maybe the threat of taking him on a boring errand would make him want to go? Hope you get the stuff done you need to! That jamboree Braeden is going to sounds awesome though wow, pricey! But, I'm sure he'll have a ton of good memories from it so it'll be worth it!

I'm going to update the resolutions list and make up a list for today.

Ok, going to ignore the lists from yesterday and start off fresh today. They'll be overlap for sure though. Tonight is busy night... D starts gymnastics 6-7:30 and Em has swimming, 7-7:30. Usually dh would do swimming with Em but because of the same ending time, I'm going to have to do one. I think I'll be doing the swimming. The gymnastics place is so freakin' crowded.

Holy cow on your list!!!!!!!

Chane went to school.  He tried one more time before we left - curled up with a sad look on his face talking about his headache but I think he was fine.  I told him we are having a cool treat in Scouts tonight (we're making snowmen out of mini-doughnuts and candy decorations) and that I wanted him to be there and not have to go to Grandma's.  That finally got him going.

You make me feel guilty - Chane needs to be in gymnastics.  I just hate having places to go every night.  Monday is Scouts and that's it right now.  Last year at this time we had Weight Watchers, Scouts, gymnastics, and later one we had baseball mixed in there.  What a pain esp since baseball bleeds into the weekend too.  One year when I still worked at the Utz factory, every single night had something for at least one kid and both Saturday and Sunday had either soccer or t-ball games.  I hate that!  But I really should have Chane in sports.  He's too athletic not to be.  I'm just so lazy.  He would be good at football and soccer and I'm betting he's into track in middle and high school so he needs our support.

Here's a link for the jamboree - click on "view promo video" at the top left - makes it look really fun!

So you had nice weather too? It was supposed to be cold again today but it's not.  I just got back from York.  Got the tags returned, jamboree payment made, and did my Scout shopping.  Need to make a real list like you did to get some things done.  I only seem to have motivation if something is actually looming.  I have these stretches where nothing is planned that I need to do things for and instead of using them to sort out my paperwork or do a down-deep cleaning, I don't even keep up with regular cleaning.

  • Finish getting ready for den meeting - parcel out candy, gather dixie cups and popsicle sticks, get pretzels out, make agenda, get gold beads ready, get newspapers etc ready, have safety talk ready, figure out something to fill 15 minutes of time (emergency game? talk to Scott), print up announcement sheet, print out survey for Tyler and Derek, figure out who leads flag formation, fix den doodle, answer Craig Sager
  • Reboot laundry
  • Soak whites
  • Put away groceries
  • Start vacuuming van
  • Unload or reload dw, whichever it needs!
  • Look for Toys R Us Receipt
  • Iron uniform if necessary
  • What's for dinner?  Italian Herb chicken?  Ham sandwiches?  Soup?
  • Check chicken expiration date
  • Shower, hair, makeup
  • Help B with homework

Wow, do you think I could be a Scout and go?! lol That looks awesome! Scouts and Girl Guides (they are the male/female equivalent, right?) aren't that big in Canada or at least they dont' seem to be in the areas I've lived in. When I was younger, I had a few friends in Brownies and Em's friend, the one I watch, is in Brownies but it's very not popular at all. I've thought about putting my girls into it but kind of feel like it would be too late at this point and I know Andrew would rather they be involved in sports (unless they show an interest otherwise.)

Oh man, I'm defintiely getting a cold. My head is filling and I feel achy. I hope it's not the flu since it's coming on so suddenly and I think I was feverish for a bit.

Yes, we've had awesome weather today and yesterday! I need to open up my bedroom window now that dh isn't lying in bed (I didn't think it would be nice of me to have the window open as he's trying to stay warm and sleep off the sickness.) I still smell something though it could be the overflowing litter tray upstairs and not leftover puke smells.

Good job on the errands! I don't really have any specific motivation except that I'm tired of not being organized and clean and with us being sick, that helped me want to get things in order so that if it happens again, I can take a day in bed and not dread being stuck in my overly messy room or have dh have to waddle through a week's worth of mess cause I couldn't keep up, etc.

Well, I'm going to take up my lunch dishes. I brought them down so I could eat while snuggling Timmy to sleep. Also, my avon friend called so that saved me from calling her. I still gotta figure out my order and email it to her.

An hour left and I've lost steam but still going to try to push myself. I laze around all day, attempt to do stuff at night but after supper, I'm extremely wiped, physically sore, etc that nothing gets done and then I dont' sleep so well because I didn't do so much in the day. So, if I can keep motivated during the day and try to do less stuff in the evening because I know I don't get much done then, plus sleep better at night, that would be ideal!! Now, to remind myself of that hwne I have a lazy day...

Oh, I think I sort of took care of V-Day plans. I want to get the kids something small and then we're going to go out for dinner and watch a movie. not sure if that will be with the kids or not. But, we're planning something and that's good. We're communicating... what a concept! I hope I can stay mature... I've been doing a bad job at that lately. I'm also going to make heart pancakes for breakfast. mmm Gotta think of what other heart stuff I can do for snacks the week before, etc.

Oh, gotta call my caseworker back. She wants to know if I can do back-up care for 2 kids on Friday and one would be for the whole day so gotta see if D has school that day or not. If she does, I may say no because I don't want to have someone I need to entertain for the day after having Braelyn.

Ack, I'm blabby... off I go.

I'm not sure about what the Scout equivalent is in Canada.  I guess I just assumed you had Boy Scouts since they're international.  They actually started in England.  Girl Scouts is totally different.  I've never heard anything good about being in it.  You'd think it'd be just the girl equivalent but it's not even affiliated with Boy Scouts at all.  Ah, well, at least they have good cookies!!! :-)  You'd be great at the jamboree since you like outdoor stuff.  To me it looks fun but other than shooting I'd probably hate all the physical stuff!  Maybe throwing hatchets at the hay bales - that part looks fun hee hee.

I hope you're not getting sick again.  This is a bad winter for sickness.  You guys seem to have been sick since you moved in your house.  I'd say to check it for mold and radon but it's been a sick winter everywhere so it's probably germs.  My sister said lots of people are getting really sick and dying from the flu this year.  Can you get a flu shot?  I think here, at least at my OB, they require their OB patients to get flu shots as a prerequisite for treating them.  I have never had one but the kids and Scott get them.  Supposedly that Brazilian model died of the flu - I thought it was UTI that developed into sepsis (you know the one I mean right?  The one whose hands and feet they cut off and whatnot and then she died anyway last week).

I have my ups and downs during the day too.  It's tricky to try to capitalize on feeling good - you forget you'll feel bad later so you get lazy when you're feeling good.  At least I do - I have to remember to get things done during this two hours or that three hours of feeling okay because I know tiredness will hit.  If I could just get back on my freakin' diet I'd be fine.  Every day I try and every day I fail! I am joining WW tomorrow I think - not to do WW but to have a weigh-in so I'm more accountable and stop procrastinating on starting.  It's so easy to say "I'll start tomorrow instead."

Well I got the candy parceled out for the snowmen and the groceries put away which was easy since it was just 10 packs of ham, milk, and bread.  Ate a ton of candy while parceling it out and now I feel pukey!  Also got the laundry soaking.  At least snack is taken care of - I will be bad and give them the leftover fruit by the foot candy that I bought to make snowman scarves...

Oh, I meant are Boy Scouts and Girl Guides the same kind of thing but one for boys and one for girls. I'm so not up on that kind of stuff!

Well, we know we have some mold stuff here so that is quite the possibility but it does seem like the sickness is going around. Gavin and Laura who are here 2 hrs a day have been sick with colds since Dec. or so... it just seems like we keep on passing it back and forth.

i know for me, I haven't been eating well plus the only fresh air I've been getting is a walk a day and even that is stretching it sometimes (cause I may drive both ways) I could get a flu shot but have never had one. I'm not sure I've had the flu in the past few years, just various colds. Yikes, that model had the flu?! Yes, I read about her the day before she died :( that's crazy that she was so young.

Mornings are usually my best time but that's when I'm super lazy and then realize, oh wait, in the afternoon, I get tired so I'll be lazy then too. And then after the daycare kids go, I laze until I finally force myself to make supper and then after supper I laze. lol Lots of laziness!

Woohoo on getting the craft/snack ready! I made some calls... my caseworker is devious... she had left a message earlier when I was getting T to sleep. She said the kids would need care til 5:30-6. Then when talking to her, it was 6:30 and eventually, ended up being 7 with a start time of 9:30. But, then mom goes into work earlier on Fridays so I'll have the one boy 9-7! Ahh Well, Andrew has volleyball that night and with it being a Friday, I might as well have kids that late. It'll be kinda fun for the girls.

Augh, Timmy was woken up by the girls being loud. I made some calls while they were playing downstairs though as soon as I was on the phone, they came usptairs. AUGh, I really dont' like the phone when I hae kids around!

Ack, gotta get moving. Didn't get done as much as I wanted but it's good for now. Gotta change Timmy and get the kids bundled up. We're going to leave a tad bit early since it's so nice so then they can have lots of time to play and we can get fresh air. We can take our time walking too so that'll be nice.

Well, I'm thinking it's the flu because of how achy I am and how fast it's coming on. Maybe I do get the flu every year (or numerous times a year) but to me, it just feels like a bad cold. I've never had it linger for super long so it's never really stood out for me.

I slipped a few times on the ice on the way to the school. Nothing major but enough of a jolt to mess up my back. So, I'm VERY sore now. Dh is going to have to deal with the rest of the laundry for me cause I can't bend at the weird angle to put clothes in and take them out.

I took an Advil Cold and Sinus which I know is a no-no while pregnant... with how I feel and how sore I am, I'm risking it :( I will likely regret it when I look back after I get over this but I'm weak!!

Sooo, I'm going to force myself to get going on supper and get the girls ready for their things. (emily will be ready very early but ah well) I think once we've eaten, I'm going to have a nice, hot shower and see how that makes me feel. I have a feeling the rest of my list and even basic cleaning is done for the night but hopefully that means I'll be in bed really early.

I'm not sure when Advil becomes a no-no.  I know it keeps the circulatory system of the baby from developing properly but I'm not sure at how many weeks that is.  I know it's toward the end.  Tylenol makes a sinus pill I like that's okay for pregnancy but it probably wouldn't help the achiness as much.  I'm an Advil addict (well, fake Advil - generic ibuprofen).  I take it way too much.  When I pulled my neck while pregnant I really missed being able to take ibuprofen.  That's when I did the apple cider vinegar I told you about altho that wouldn't help with a cold.

I know what you mean about the achiness with a cold.  I think the only way you know if you have the flu instead of a regular bad cold is if you take a blood test.  Braeden had it once - the influenza virus was in his blood.  I took him to the dr  and they sent him to the hospital for a blood test.  I'm not sure when a person needs to worry enough to have it checked!

My sister has walking pneumonia and her 5yo daughter has pneumonia and I'm starting to think I have it too.  I had this bad cold for a week, then a cough that was so deep and racking, then the cold came back and now it's been a month and the cough is still here with a lot of phlegm.  It's definitely not like the pneumonia I had when I was 11 - that is more like what my little niece has.  Her fever went up to 107!!  My sister says she's sleeping a lot.  But I feel like maybe I have walking pneumonia like my sister.  Every time I say anything about my chest or cough she says "that's how I was feeling before the doctor said I have walking pneumonia."  In my mind, walking pneumonia sounds like bronchitis - just a severe respiratory infection and since I've already taken a Z-pack for bronchitis I don't think there's much else they could do.  If it persists one more week I'll go and see if I can get prednisone to reduce the inflammation.  The phlegm wakes me up at night - I'll be breathing okay and then suddenly I feel a blockage and can't get a breath in unless I cough the phlegm out which I have to wake up to do.  And with my insomnia, I can't go right back to sleep.

I'm totally unprepared for my den meeting.  I'm totally sick of scouts.  Two more meetings including tonight and then it will be the banquet - after that, it's all electives which are more loose.  Also after the banquet, Braeden will cross over to boy Scouts meaning that Scott will be free with no Cub Scout den anymore and can help me run my meetings.  I just get sick of things too easily.  My interest wanes pretty quickly.  Oh about the Girl Guides - I think that's maybe what we call Girl Scouts.  So I guess Girl Scouts aren't in Canada or go by a different name.  Maybe Girl Scouts are only American?

Scott home with potato rolls - now I can make the ham sandwiches.  He'll need the computer for his den meeting.  I think he's sick of den meetings too but he likes teaching the simpler stuff to the little kids so he'll be a big help once he can do that.  I just don't have the enthusiasm or connect to boys to be able to improvise and do fun games without a lot of prep and forethought like he can!
