To me this means that if I want the kids not to yell, I must not yell.  I must work on that. 

That statement makes me think of the scene in the movie Gandhi where this big crowd just stands there while they are being attacked.  I can't remember exactly what happened.  They probably stopped throwing stones or whatever they were doing since they got no violent reaction.  At least I hope.  Does anyone remember?
