Stuff in italics are notes for my family...

Food:

hamburgers (6 lb ground beef?)
hot dogs (2 pkgs of 10 ea?)
cheese (at least 25 slices?)
hamburger rolls (4 pkgs of 12 ea?)
hot dog rolls (2 pkgs of 12 ea?)
pickles
tomatoes (4?)
onions
lettuce (1 head?)
ketchup
mustard
chips - plain/rippled? slat & vinegar? fritos? tortillas? (4 big bags?)
salsa (joni will make)
salads - fruit? potato? macaroni? corn? other
simple desserts - cookies? brownies? cake? (joni will make cookies or brownies, depending on who else wants to make what)
beans (can keep hot in a thermos?)
watermelon
sodas (mom, i think i saw what you were talking about in the weis flyer - was it 4 pks for $10 and you get $5 back by mail?)

Cooking and Food-Related:

charcoal (1 extra large bag for two grills?)
lighter fluid (joni might have)
extra grill? (i need to check and see how many grills are grouped together in the area i want)
lighter (joni has)
plates
cups
forks/spoons (joni has a lot of these - maybe enough)
napkins (joni has plenty of these)
ice (probably should buy rather than try to make)
serving spoons (each person can bring with their dish(es) plus joni can bring extras)
paper towels (joni can bring)
food tents (joni is trying to find these locally - found online but shipping time is too long)
blow up pool w/ice? (can probably find a pool @ dollar store)
coolers (joni has one big cooler and several smaller ones)
tablecloths (joni has a couple of these)
thermos? (mom, do you have this?)
baggies (joni has plenty of these)
trash bags (joni has plenty of these)

Misc Supplies:

blankets to sit on (joni has two but more would be nice)
bug candles/bug zappers/bug racquet (joni has some bug candles but we saw a cool electric racquet for $9.99 that scott is going to try to get that kills bugs really efficiently - a guy had it at the summer blast and cleared our area of gnats for us)
bug spray (each family bring their own?)
wipies (somebody who has these anyway can bring extras?)
umbrellas? canopy? (anyone have any of these?  there are trees but would be nice to have shade right by the water while watching the kids wade)
sunscreen (each family bring their own)
chairs (joni has two foldable canvas camp chairs - who else has some?  or the old kind of webbed lawn chairs?)

Stuff for Activities:

water shoes (highly recommend due to beach and lake bottom being pure shale)
swim trunks (should bring older ones since they will probably get dirty)
extra dry clothes/shoes (two sets each kid good idea but it is easy enough for one of us to run to our house and get emergency clothes)
badminton/volleyball (joni thinks she has but does anyone have a volleyball?)
soccer ball (joni has)
softball & mitts (joni has 2-3 mitts and one baseball - anyone have a softball?)
little boats (anyone have some of these so kids can play with them in water?  i will keep looking but haven't seen any cheap ones and we don' t have any anymore)
towels (each family bring their own)
board games (joni has)
cards? (joni has)
party games? (any ideas?)
fishing equipment/bait (joni will call about licenses but don't think kids need to have them - who has fishing poles?)
organized games? - 3-legged race? water balloons? balloon races? bucket brigade? dodgeball/kickball?
music (need a small cd player or radio that runs on batteries)
kayak (joni has and also life vests - when we were there this weekend, a family was there with several kayaks and they were kayaking right near the shore next to the swimmers)

Trying one new (corn salad) and two old (pasta salad, eclair cake) recipes that I don't have in my file yet - will let you know how they are and what changes should be made later.  I made the eclair cake once 12 years ago and have always wanted to make it again but the person I got it from was an old neighbor of Scott's parents so not someone I could just call and ask again.  But now I found it on the internet so hopefully it is exactly the same because the one I had before was AWESOME.  The pasta salad is from my neighbor but I never wrote it down - I remember most of what was in it and Scott will figure out the amounts (since I don't eat it).  And Scott had a great corn salad at my FIL's bbq last wknd but my FIL couldn't get the recipe for me so I've been searching on here for an hour trying to find a comparable one - Scott couldn't remember what was in it other than cilantro and corn .  I narrowed it down to possibly two recipes, one complicated and one easy so I'm going with the easy one tomorrow - I'll let you know how it is received!

Éclair cake

1 1 pound box of graham crackers

2 small packages instant French vanilla pudding

3 ½ cups milk

1 9oz cool whip

Butter the bottom of a 9 X 13 pan and line with one layer of graham crackers. Mix pudding and milk for 2 minutes, blend in cool whip. Pour ½ of pudding mixture over first layer of crackers. Repeat a second layer of crackers, and pour remaining pudding mixture over the top. Add one last layer of crackers over the top of pudding mixture. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours, and top with frosting below.

Summer Sweet Corn Salad

Ingredients:
6 ears boiled or grilled sweet corn
handful of cherry tomatoes, halved
1 small red onion, sliced very thin
tablespoon of minced cilantro
juice from one fresh lime

Mix all ingredients and squeeze the lime juice
over it all. Season with salt and pepper.

Peggy’s Pasta Salad (get amounts from Scott)

Pepperoni

Red onion

Black olives

Tri-color pasta

Zesty Italian dressing

Green pepper

Salad Supreme salad dressing

Tomatoes
