I'm tired, I go to bed, I can't fall asleep.  I finally fall asleep, I wake up through the night.  Then suddenly I'm wide awake.  I look at the clock and it's 3 or 4 or something ridiculous after going to sleep after midnight.  I can't help napping but that just makes it worse, although not napping doesn't fix it.  I have a lot to do today and don't feel like doing any of it.

Sigh and Whine!

Scott's home today.  He took off for my epidural/spinal block thingie but now that they did injections to my legs the epidural is postponed so as not to confuse the issue.  He should probably go to work but he decided to stay home anyway.  It's his leave so whatever - I'm glad to have him home.

I'm trying to convince him to get up and shower so we can run errands together.  I'm already showered since now that we have a bathtub upstairs again I can shower while the kids take their morning baths.  Did I tell you that we got the bathroom mostly done but when Scott went to take a shower the shower doesn't work up there?  When you pull the little knob, nothing happens except a weird noise.  But at least the kids can take baths in a warm part of the house although I don't want them in there too much - it's not the most sturdily done bathroom with  the vinyl stick-on floor tiles and cheap cabinetry so for it to stay nice there needs to be not so much kid stuff going on in there.

I have a plan for today that I don't feel like doing but I'm going to try to follow it.  If I can get it all done, then tomorrow when my sisters come to help me paint the derby trophies things will be ready with no rush-rush.   And then when the party comes around on Sunday hopefully the house will be clean - the kids want to go to the farm show again this year (I thought they were bored by it last year but I guess not) so I told them if we can get the house clean for the party by Saturday we can go.  It's such a relief that I have very little creative stuff to do - build a racetrack (Scott's job and easy) and my sister is doing the cake.  All I have to do is find the old lego costumes and fill the sides of one in to make a pinata, buy a few things and CLEAN.  Oh and bake cupcakes but that's not big thing - nothing that requires brainpower or creativity which is what usually stresses me out before these things.  C's bday is tomorrow so I need to get his birthday doughnut and wrap his gift.  We got him Skull Mountain for Power Scouts.  It's a $30 set we got from Amazon for $10 and free shipping!  I feel guilty we paid so little for his bday gift - we usually spend about $50 so I'm going to pick up a Power Scout and maybe another small Power Scout set - Skull Mountain is a big set.  Even though we usually only get one gift for their birthdays - whatever big thing they want but didn't get for Christmas.  He loved his Christmas Power Scouts so I'm counting it as one gift since it's all Power Scouts stuff so that's my justification lol.  And Braeden wants me to buy him two Star Wars Lego sets with his money - I can't believe he wants to spend $20 but it's his choice.  He's pretty loaded since he only ended up spending $40 on Christmas after I paid half plus all of his shipping charges and he got some money for the first time ever as Christmas gifts from Meemaw and his Aunt Sarah and a gift card from my friend.  So Chane will have plenty to open.  Then we are taking him to Hungry Parrot (pizza buffet and video games) after school for an early dinner before I have to drag him to the committee meeting for Scouts, and then ice cream afterward to make up for the injustice of boring him to death on his actual birthday lol.

Gotta go check Chane's progress on getting dressed.

Man, that's awful :( i would not be able to function like that at all. I can totally see how the napping cycle would be tough cause of course you want to nap after getting so little sleep but napping only makes you less tired at bedtime so then you definitely need a nap the next day and so it goes. AHHH

I ended up going to bed at around 10. My house is still a disaster and there's still a whole bunch of things to do to be ready for the inspection. I don't care so much about having a super clean house but the toys all over the basement is not acceptable, plus still gotta install the battery back-up smoke detector and do a bit of paperwork. augh

I set my alarm for an hour early and ended up getting up only 15 mins earlier. Yippee!

Oh, I think I hear Timmy awake. I will likely be drilling on here this morning though D has swimming lessons, 10:15-11:15ish. That really messes up my morning! But, I'm driving the kids to school today as we have a cold advisory... somewhere around -25C right now. Definitely not the kind of cold you want to be out in. But, I have to pick up the kids after school as I don't have enough seats so that totally sucks. They'll be ok but it's me, T and D who will be outside 20 mins more than them because of walking there, waiting and then walking back. I can't imagine 45 mins of being outside in this cold will be all that great.
