I just read about PB and looks like natural pb could be more carcinogenic than ones with hydrogenated oil cause they contain more aflatoxin, a carcinogen produced by a fungus.  But they have strict regulations now for companies to control the amount of aflatoxin.  Also all peanut butter has to contain 90 % peanuts.  Usually about 2% is hydrogenated oil (kind of like Crisco). The balance is salt and sugar.  So maybe it is better than lots of other things but still not perfect.  Ah I just don't eat it too much.  PB is supposed to heart-healthy though.

Thanks for the info.

I do have to say that I'm not going to worry. Honestly, ANY food/drink we have out there, there could be issues. We shouldn't drink bottle water (the plastic) but tap water has all these other chemicals they use to clean the water. Eat more fruits and veggies yet they are sprayed with chemicals to keep the bugs away and though organic is the better choice, there still has to be chemicals in them (acid rain, fall out from farms that do spray around them, etc.)

I kind of feel like all these tests are just made public to make people feel good about themselves. One of the daycare parents heard a study that said kids shouldn't be in daycare more than 24 hrs a week. Dakota is in care right around 24 hrs so she feels happy. I find that ridiculous!

I'm going to stick to any food in moderation (even the good stuff cause I know what eating too many blueberries or strawberries or carrots does to me!) And make obviously better choices. I still would think apples are more healthy over a chocolate bar.

stepping off my soapbox... I'm just tired of these tests (though one day, I may be doing these tests, regarding the environment/animals! lol)
