-walk after supper -think up a plan for eating out... cut it down to 1x month? -think up 'treat' times, what is acceptable, etc -work on the produce cards again with the girls and think up a reward -focus on produce as snacks rather than breads or junk |

Hope you don't mind if I post here? goals: 5 svgs fruit/veg per day 60 min exercise per day better food choices, i.e. whole grains instead of refined 2-3 svgs of dairy per day 8 glasses of water per day less sugar overall (including artificial) ways to accomplish these: - continue putting less sugar in koolaid - try to take it to 1/4 C and see what kids say? i'm down to 1/2 C now (calls for 1 C)
- frozen fruit for braeden instead of popsicles, ice cream, or ice cream sandwiches for bednight snack
- prep fruit and veggies as soon as i get them home so the kids will grab them
- get rid of most of the refined stuff in the cabinets
- canned fruit for c or find fresh fruits he really likes
- buy more whole wheat macandcheese and find more whole wheat ritz and other type crackers
- phase out white bread?
- make sure there is plenty of cheese around for c
- make sure there is always plenty of lactaid, choc milk (for c) and regular milk (for me)
- calcium supplements - me and scott
- look at soy for scott and me
- keep veggies that braeden likes around all the time, plus fat-free ranch dip and italian dressings
- salad every night before dinner for me
- make more smoothies
- freeze orange juice for snacks
- look for more "fun" recipes
- mince more veggies into some dinners if it's easy to hide them
- try to serve more veggies with dinner, esp ones they love like corn, carrots, potatoes, and peas for c, tomatoes, carrots, spinach, snow peas, baby corn, cauliflower and broccoli for braeden
- limit computer/tv/video game time to 1 hour on weekdays for braeden, 2 hours for chane
- less tv on while the kids eat (we don't turn it on at dinner but they watch it while they eat lunch or breakfast sometimes)
- eat with the kids as much as possible
- make food cards like sara does for dairy, produce, and water - easy-to-miss things
- have a produce and milk budget to make sure we don't run out of money for these before our next payday
- maybe make junk food cards that the kids have to turn in to get junk each day? maybe 2-3 each and they will include chips, ice cream, popsicles, candy, oodles of noodles, etc? and maybe 1-2 cups of koolaid?
- keep lots of juice on hand - juice is not nearly as healthy as fruit but still better than koolaid, right?
- try to sub brown rice for half of white rice in recipes (my dh hates brown rice but he'll go with it if i ask him to)
- use half whole-wheat spaghetti when i make spaghetti
- make an incentive chart for braeden and me to exercise, drink more water, etc
- take kids to kids kingdom as much as possible (when they play there, they spend almost the entire time running)
- carve out 30 minutes a nite to stroll with braeden around neighborhood
- hide my "power hour" stuff better and be more careful about eating it when they're around
- try to jump on the trampoline more with the kids or sit out there while they do it so they will jump and show off for me (hurts my back to do it too much)
- play more kickball, practice soccer, do more family physical type stuff
- make more of an effort to take braeden to skating every saturday instead of sporadically
- dance more with kids
- look into bikes for all of us, better bikes for kids
- look into roller blades for braeden and me, find a smooth place to ride (rail trail?)

Noperooni, I hope we all can post goals here and be aware of each others so then we can ask specifically how things are going or it makes us think of little things we need to do as well. My goals are pretty basic and not really broken down. I'm going to talk about it at supper, I hope. The girls need to drink more fluids (they are pretty good water drinkers but overall, they don't drink enough, I'm thinking.) That's a big goal I forgot about. |

I would like to have everybody watch less TV and less computer/xbox but right now I can't concentrate on how to do that. Also to have a couple of hours or even an hour each weekend for everybody together to tidy up the house. |

Oops that is not nutrition! To eat more green leafy veggies and simply more veggies. |
