Her books are set in Scotland, romantic but not like a historical romance.  The tone is of life in a Scottish village.  Some of the characters live in big manor houses, some more middle class. Set in more recent times.. 50s or later.  The Shell Seekers is her most well known book. Notation on front of Shell Seekers:  A huge, warm saga...  a deeply satisfying story written with love - The New York Times Book Review. I read whatever of hers I can get my hands on.
