THE LIVING SUMMIT
I know I'm no surprise
& that you felt my coming
I'm
finding you a relaxed host
sun-baked, rain-washed
bonsai juniper populated
dizzying place, most
rewarding of my sweated climb
I have no thought
of having conquered you
please know
only have I conquered
that part of me
that wished to know
wether it could see
the world below
through shy eyes
of moth and bird and bee
and other things
who, unknown to man, visit here a bit
for their reasons
and now, so too, me
May I sit?
