There's word of coming frost!
The alarm, passed mouth to ear,
into hearths and homes and bowers 
along some tight stretched wires,
has sent old women out in evening chill
to save their late Fall flowers..
I see them cutting things,
wearing boots.. lifting roots..
 
When? ..did I became one of them?

Hey, this is a great poem, Star.......reminds me of me out picking tomatoes....we still haven't had a frost yet - well, we've had a light one that just got the tips, but I'm still harvesting every night......
 
Picked a huge basket as it turned dusk early last night. 
 
Bringing in my indoor plants from the back porch will be probably tomorrow - there's whisper of a frost come Wed.

My stuff's all in that's coming in... a snippet of Ivy, a Geranium... bunches of dried herbs & garlic.
