After working 3.5 mos. straight w/no call-offs and no tardys.. they're laying off Fredo in 2wks. I can't believe this. When things seem to be gettin better for us.. BOOM! Something else gets tossed at us. I'm so fucking discouraged right now. He was due to get his 90 day probation period raise from $12 an hr. to $17!! That's not happeing now. I think this fucking company had it all planned out to work out like this and now I have poor Fettucini walking around in yet another daze. Does everything really happen for a reason?

Ty for the hug MW. I know we'll survive, but it's just getting on top that's really treacherous at this point. I need to know that ONE DAY we'll finally be stable. We're getting up here in age and neither of us wants to constantly be worrying about how we'll get this and that paid. At this point, both of us should be at the more than halfway mark towards retirment. It's nobody's fault, but our own although Fredo, unlike me has always worked and worked very hard, but has always had the shitties of luck. Me? I just chose not to work while living high on the hog and now it's come to bite me in the ass now that the well has dried up.

well, its like that for about everyone else, lynnie, why should you guys be any different? lol We were barely making it, and really not doing well at all, when the truck broke down 25 miles away, and needed a 3,000 part!! Now, we'll have to look up, just to see down! lol

I don't feel like I'm any different and know that everyone goes thru this. I was just venting is all. Sorry if I made it seem like I was "special". I know I'm not and like I say I just wanted to release a lil' bit of steam.

Ohhh I get it now and I'm sorry. I thought you were tired of my ups and downs. LOL! Well guess what happened today?? Instead of making it another 2wks worth of work... they gave him the boot today!!! Here they are telling them it would be another 2wks worth of work and THEN they'd tell them who was on the "goodbye" list. He was so pissed off at them, he told them to fuck them and DO NOT CALL him back again. They guaranteed him a permanent position as of next week and showed him all the jobs they had and how they just renewed their contract until the year 2040 and BOOM! He's gone today. I still got faith though just don't know if and when he'll be able to collect unemployment. I'm sure he'll get it and I think we'll be okay, but damnit! He was really digging this place. Such is life.

so sry to hear that. It really sucks, when we gotta give a two week notice, as employees, but employers never have to!
just sucks!

Sorry Lynnie and MW for your financial woes.

It does indeed suck to have your income pulled out from under you like a cheap rug.

TY you all for your concern and well-wishes, but I KNOW everything is going to be alright. It has to be alright because we're survivors and we will survive.

I'm going to make sure I show Fettucini this link OK and ty for it. He's been up and on the internet all morning looking into new job sites and this just might be a good lead for him.

Fredo was so shocked by this "you're laid off as today" instead of 2wks that he's been somewhat cranky and very discouraged. I keep telling him to hold on and for him to keep his chin up. There's got to be something in store for us!!! We can't go on living life as such, but he feels like such a failure and HE'S NOT.. he's just destined for something bigger and better. Ty GOD I'm on my bipolar meds religiously because this might have been another breaking point for me, but once again I feel very strongly about the entire ordeal. I might have cussed someone out had I been at the meeting!! LOL!

That really blows, Lynnie...so sorry he was treated that way. It pisses me off that these places demand 2 weeks notice if YOU leave THEM but if they decide to pull the plug it's "SURPRISE!!! you're fucked".  There should be a law against that shit.

 Hope Fredo finds something quickly.

He told the supervisor who came after him after Fredo trossed his hard hat on the floor and walked out the meeting, that you'll sleep tonite because you still have your job and I'll be at home trying to pick up the pieces. The thing that really irks him is that they did in fact keep one of the temps whose only been there for one month and let all the other 4 go who were PROMISED permanent positions and have been there 4mos!!! I told him it's probably because he's related to someone there. It's so unfair, but like Fredo said, I don't wish the guy has been fired, but damn don't make it known to the rest of us who have put in more time.

Thank you so much Grizzer for your concern and it really makes me know w/all this positive energy on this thread.. we're going to be alright. XO.
