Dropped my cell phone in the toilet when I was pulling up my pants. took it apart asap in hopes of drying it out and letting it heal. crossing my fingers that might just work (and that I can figure out how to put it back together again).. darnit.. I did NOT want to spend $100 needlessly right about now. |

lmao @ Peej...I have lost phones like that too girl. I found that putting them in the oven for an hour on low heat works well...the last one I got wet is probably still answering calls at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. About 150 miles out and 250 feet down. I haven't received a bill soooo, I guess the fish haven't figured out how to take pictures or talk with it yet....lol |

Re what MW said - I've heard about the dot inside that changes color when the phone gets wet so you can't lie to the phone people. Just never found out what color the dot starts out as or what color it turns when wet. Good Luck! |

Blow drying the phone guts on the low dryer setting sometimes helps...that's what I did with mine. |

OK MW, this is the phone DOT police. You are under arrest! You have the right to a consumer advocate lawyer, but we here at the network never listen to those guys and think they are a big pain in the ass anyway. And besides, since you dropped your phone in the hopper you can't call him anyway!!!!!! And don't even think you can use ours.
Next time buy our phone insurance to add another 4.98 per mon on your bill.

well shoot. Took the darned thing all apart and used the blow dryer on it some. Never saw any dots 'cept maybe when my eyes were crossing from tying to see that little stuff w/ these old eyes. I don't know HOW you do your little bitty detailed work Mick. (btw..it's GREAT to see you again) I've had the phone a little over 1 year. Paid $50 ...so if I figure $4.95 month for insurance, the numbers just don't add up.... I usually go 2 yrs before dunking my phones.. Last time I was yacking and got into the tub w/ it and dunked it. Ruined that one too. Looks like I'm phone shopping today, whether I want to or not. I'm looking at an iphone... considering linking it to my computer so I'll have my calendar handy for work when I need it to set followup appts w/ families. I'm concerned about being able to do it (technically challenged) and there's an added expenses. ugh. I did NOT want to buy a new phone right now dammit. |
