Tonight I was baking cookies and feeling especially festive when a thought crept into my head. I started thinking of something Peny had asked once; What do you do when you are cooking...other than cooking? I replied that I would always have a drink of some kind while cooking. It may be a glass of wine, a can of my favorite beer or a high-ball of some kind. Too, I added, I am always cleaning the food prep areas and cleaning the utensiles and cooking vessels I have used...you know, wiping the counters down with my spray bottle containing a 20% solution of bleech and water....maybe the fridge gets a wipedown too...just cleaning stuff. Anyway,....... tonight, while baking a huge batch of chocolate chip cookies, my mind wandered back to that question, and Peny. I thought how amazing it is that even though she has been gone in the physical sence for some time now, the memory of her friendship lingers. But then....I guess thats the way real friendships are. Sorry, just a thought.....btw, the cookies were/are great! Tomorrow night----peanut butter cookies! lol

yea, its kinda funny, isnt it redi? Most of us never got to meet her in person, and she was so much a part of our lives, that this void of her, is pretty deep. Things throughout my day spirit my thoughts to her almost everyday! I think although we miss her like crazy, she certainly inhanced and improved our lives, while she was here. I know that im a better person because of her.
Thanks for posting this, and im glad the cookies turned out good!

I know I had kept Schmoopy waaayy too long but have now been even more reluctant to pass him on.  He reminds me almost daily of Peny.  It's time for sure...past time of course.  Who would like to have him for the holidays?  I'm ready to let him go now.

Your right MW. I believe we have similar thoughts a lot of the time. I am thankful for that too.

Schmoopy could have a Christmas on the coast if you like.  I'm in the snail mail.

I was looking at my getting-icky bathtub one day...thought of Peny...remembered her advice on how to get it the cleanest...sure enough, still had plenty of Comet (her favorite tub cleaner) so 15 minutes later both bathtubs were sparkling again!

I still see signs of her all over...and I treasure every one of them.

lol anna. Its probably good that you have him. Tigger is a good plan to pass him to, too. Maybe, one day we can run him over to her! Id like that, passing the baton to someone that peny really loved. Think about that. We could leave early one day and make a day adventure out of it. Hay, and not only can we meet tigger, but theres a casino over there! lmao

Oh I can't even think about traveling anywhere these days.  I've finally gotten a routine down here for the first time since I started working nights...just over seven months ago!   I'm enjoying a little order in life right now. lol

Memories like the one you had Redi, won't ever be forgotten. I didn't have the good fortune of knowing her very long as she passed on probably 3-4 mos after joining. However, during this time she made me feel as though she knew me for a very long time and helped me get to know the boards better. She made up all kinds of cool nicknames for me and always had good advice, or something positive to say that arose from negativity. She will be missed. I'm sure of this.
