B.J. Penn was sentenced to probation for one year and ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution Tuesday for an incident outside a Waikiki nightclub in 2005 where he allegedly punched a police officer, the Honolulu Advisor reports.

Penn pleaded no contest this past August to drop the felony assault charge to a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault. As part of his plea agreement, Penn will be required to perform 50 hours of community service and complete substance abuse treatment.
