The time has finally come for the most anticipated match up of Final Verdict 2008: Seifer versus David Van Dam in the Lion’s Den Match. The last time these two faced off (bar the most recent mishap) was at Immortal Glory in a match that brought down the house and secured them the match of the year. This one however, is built on far more history then just the quest to become (or maintain) the PWT Heavyweight Champion. We already know that a victory here will shoot them near the top of the line considering that they are the last two champions, but this match is much more than simple title hunts.

This match?is a long time coming. This match is going to be intense, it’s going to be brutal, and I don’t just mean the actual match itself. I mean the promos that will lead up to another epic clash. What you’re going to see is once again why Seifer is the best.

The glorious scene simply opens.

“A little less than twenty three months have passed since Seifer and David Van Dam have lit up the big show and squared off in a huge match. It was the first Immortal Glory; an event named after both of us and a match that forced us to take the other to their limits for Sixty Minutes. It was for the PWT Heavyweight Championship that I so proudly held. We all know what happened during the match, we know what happened in the weeks after, but do you really? Do you really know how significant everything is? Can you even begin to fathom that those infamous weeks around Immortal Glory and following is one of the core reasoning’s for this very match??/FONT>

“I don’t think you can even begin to realize it. People look at me and especially now how I’m projecting myself and they immediately think “Ego? If you’re one of those I would love to laugh at you for living a carefree world where you think ignorance is bliss. It’s part of it, sure, but it’s so much more. Pride is a word I’d list above ego any day of the week. I’m a very prideful man, and there are certain people, certain individuals who you come across that just give off a very two sided appearance. Guys who give you a side that you can respect and admire the way they treat the business, and then completely switch the flip to make sure they get ahead. Guys who know how to manipulate the business just enough to get everything handed to them on a silver platter.?/FONT>

“Oh yeah, it’s going to go down that way. Just be a man and deal with it without going and crying to anyone. As you can already tell, I’ve got a lot of resentment and bitterness heading into this match. There was a reason why I’ve been trying to get DVD in the ring on such a big stage and it’s because I finally wanted my chance to completely break him down and decimate him, one on one where there’s no one who can get in my way and stop me from making sure he knows he will never surpass what I am. Making sure the world knows that as much as DVD prides himself on being this sort of ‘God-like?figure around here that he’s nothing but a farce, a fake.?/FONT>

Seifer kicks his feet up on a desk and leans back in the leather chair of his wrestling library, behind him are many bookshelves of tapes.

“Instead of going into a long monologue telling you ever detail about our interactions in our careers, I’ll just cut straight ahead to the juicy parts. Let’s start with why I wanted this match. It was Immortal Glory, February 19th, 2006. One of the top matches in PWT history, after all, it did capture match of the year. You know what happened, you know the story. I picked up the only fall late in the match and then as the bell rang to signify the ending, I tapped out. I’ve already said why I did it years ago, I knew the match was over and doing so would get him off my ankle, its called preservation.?/FONT>

He smiles.

“Not everyone will believe that. I say this. When it comes to professional sports, what kinds of quarterbacks do you think would call timeout a few seconds before the two minute warning when you’re trying to produce a game winning drive? If it has ever happened the answer would be rookie quarterbacks. Veteran quarterbacks would have been in that situation before, they would know how precious those timeouts are late in the game and they’d be calm, cool, and collected and wouldn’t freak out, so they would know they’re sitting fine with the two minute warning coming up. I’m a veteran quarterback who has been in numerous Iron Man matches up to that point and never lost one. I know what I was doing when I tapped, and I made sure I heard the bell ring before I did so. I’ll admit two things.?/FONT>

“The first is I shouldn’t have allowed myself to think. I should have just submersed myself completely in my environment and fought off the submission longer and let the referee handle the situation. The second thing I’ll admit is I made a mistake. By tapping out and getting him off me, I left room for doubt in his mind. Doubt that I had completely and utterly taken him off his game and destroyed everything he had. I left just enough room for him to think he had a chance against me that he believes he does in the here and now. That was my mistake. I guess it shows how long it had been since I’d been in a match that long because I clearly wasn’t thinking straight. I’ve never suffered a serious or even minor injury before that kept me out for any period of time and I never will because of who I am, what I am. But alas, I said I wasn’t thinking straight ?it is what it is. When it was all said and done I remained the champion for another week.?/FONT>

Seifer smiles.

“This is where the fun begins. The week I lost the title is the week that I learned a lot about those who I was working with. It was set to be a triple threat match between me, DVD and Georgia James. I was mysteriously attacked and then some bogus trainer told Wallstreet fake information that I would be out for months. On one hand you had the evil vixen Georgia wanting the match to stay as is, and on the other you had the respectable David willing to fight another day. I’d end up stripped and the title stayed on the line between them.?/FONT>

“But I know the real story. It was exactly the opposite. That was when I learned about the character of Georgia away from the cameras. It was also when I learned how greedy and title hungry DVD really was away from the cameras. Now I disagree with the decision Taylor made but I don’t blame him for it. He should have known that as soon as I was released the next day or so after the tests had been conducted, I’d have worked through anything. Under normal circumstances I think he would have talked to me and see if I felt like I could go in the coming weeks, but I had been taken off to the hospital and he was acting owner in a company he didn’t own and had to follow a code or else shit would have hit the fan. So he did what he felt he had to do based on the information he had. As for why DVD was pushing it, let’s face it, the whole world knows that DVD didn’t stand a chance against me again if he couldn’t get it done in sixty minutes so the only way for him to become PWT Champion again?is if I was stripped.?/FONT>

“Bada bing, bada bam. Pissed? Oh, to say the least. But hey, whatever, shit happens. Second I heard what was going to be done, since I knew I wasn’t injured I got to the arena as quick as I could, but it wasn’t quick enough. So when I wanted my rematch the next week, guess what Heavyweight Champion DIDN’T want to give it to me? And don’t give me that title being on the line three weeks in a row lame argument. No one gave a fuck, the fans, the media, the boys in the back WANTED to see the match, after Immortal Glory how could they not? Oh, you’re surprised then that he disappears and misses some house shows? No wonder they fucking stripped you, Duck Van Dam.?/FONT>

“Yeah, I’m making a segway. About a year ago I made my return to PWT and Sean Hunter and I went after the Tag Team Titles. MJ Storm flaked out and sent in his replacement, but you stood strong. I wanted to completely rip up your credibility DVD and that’s why I also had challenged you to a one on one match. I felt it kind of funny how PWT once again bent over and let you rape them up the ass for another World title so I wanted to just tear you apart. Yet, in that match your mood suddenly changed. You lied to me. You lied to the fans. You lied to everyone. Your way of getting out of a one on one with me was to tell me and everyone that I was right, that from there on out you’d start earning stuff instead of using your name to get ahead. Well, turns out that wasn’t the case at all when you went elsewhere and came back here, but hey, it got you off the hook with me. I gave you a chance and a match never came about. Now I could veer off into other federations, but it’s pointless, let’s keep it in PWT for the time being.?/FONT>

“You came back to PWT a few months ago, after leaving again. You always seem to leave when you lose the title or sometime shortly after. Then you come back and get handed another title shot. Man, as much as I enjoy working my way up and earning shit, I think it’d be fun to have the ‘DVD treatment??/FONT>

He smirks, a big ol?smirk that you know DVD’s gonna hate.

“So take your crybaby ass ways of a ‘Seifer treatment?and shove them because if I had that treatment I’d have been Heavyweight Champion back in December like I should have been, but I’ll get to that soon. Anyways, I wasn’t planning on getting into the title race but then you waltzed in with a title shot. I know the way you do business and I’m going to trump everything you think you can do better than me, just you watch DVD, and yes, bet your ass there’s more to that statement then meets the ear.?/FONT>

Seifer winks. But to who? Hmmm.

“When you won the title, you lowered the credibility guys like Bobby and I spent the past year building up. I wasn't going to sit around and do nothing, thus, I got my rematch against you. That match was full of bullshit when Whysper came down in efforts to try and cost me the belt like he did to CM. Luckily Chris was still pissed about that and came out to the ring and chaos ensued and the match was thrown out. It shouldn't have surprised me though, you knew you couldn't beat me so you did what you had to do to make sure you get to keep the title a little longer, pathetic. The end result was a triple threat match for the title between the last three champs. It wasn’t exactly when I wanted to win the title, but I figured at least this way I can defend it against you finally and then relinquish it before I go off and do what I had to do when it comes to my life outside of wrestling. Nonetheless, things didn’t go the way I had planned. Turns out CM wanted the title that much more and was able to walk away as champion. Now, we all know why I took some time off after that, but why did you? You were no longer champion, you were no longer on top, yet champions are entitled to a rematch…?/FONT>

He grins.

“That’s right, it had nothing to do with that. Again, you were mad and angry at those in PWT who gave you everything you ever had here. You want to claim you didn’t know about the title match? Bitch please! Don’t try and play that game with me cause if we hadn’t been aiming for a Triple Threat match in early December I would have made sure Whysper didn’t stick his useless nose where it didn’t belong and I’d have walked out champion right after Hardcore Hell, and you KNOW that. It’s not my fault you were a horrible champion who didn’t even acknowledge those who were mentioning you like Dante and Nova. So you bite the bullet, went into the match, lost and then left. Now I had laid out a challenge and even though I said you had till the new year’s, like two weeks, it took you four or so extra days to finally answer me back. Damn boy, I bet you were so freaking nervous. Probably trying to map everything out, get it all into perspective. I bet you even talked to some of your buddies and asked them what you should do, see what they thought and see how they would react if you pussied out of yet again another challenge. Now even though I already made new plans since as far as I knew, you were giving me the silent turn down, you finally spoke up and accepted the challenge. I’ll admit, I was surprised. I didn’t think you had it in you Dave!?/FONT>

“But I’m glad you did it. Cause though I’m not planning on giving you any inches here in the beforehand, I do look forward to tangling it up with you in that Den and giving everyone a show that they’ll never forget. We’ve got so much more time and I’ve enjoyed my training thus far. After all, I did tell you I’d start it on the 26th.?/FONT>

Seifer winks, of course that wasn’t true but it was fun to joke.

“So don’t think this will be the last you see of me Davey boy, because the fun has only begun.?/FONT>

The scene seizzles out.

“Welcome to the Classics.?/FONT>

Echoes the voice of our hero. He has left his home where he had done his training. He had left the videos and the training routines behind. That was the past, now it’s time to mentally finish off preparation and begin to get a little vocal. The time for intense training sessions had come to an end. The time for making sure his game was up to speed was over. It was almost go time and soon DVD would feel that.

“Hopefully, like me, you’ve done your training and are ready for this.?/FONT>

Standing in the hallways of the PWT arena is Seifer. He’s wearing a pair of black Chuck’s, some Levi 501’s and a faded red Coca Cola Classics t-shirt. Seifer comes across the exit door and steps outside into the cool air. He taps the wall behind him, the very wall that is apart of the arena that would house Final Verdict. The very show that would house the Lion’s Den match.

“Another simplistic, and to the point promo coming from PWT’s resident Great and Magnificent, Majestic and Glorious megaultrasupah-star known as King Seifer.?/FONT>

“Yes indeed my fair Seifmadness followers, I grace your presence once again and give you a chance to rejoice upon the sight of my face. As for your lovely ladies, they have either swooned from my mere screen presence or are currently masterbating as they watch me. What can I say, Game’s music has taught me oh so much. That’s right, ohhhh baby, you feel so good! Uh huh, that’s it baby.?/FONT>

Even our King can’t help but laugh.

“Now that millions of women are having orgasms, let me get right on down to business - DVD. The man who took Nova to the brink and beyond! You let me down, dear ol?Davey. I had invested so much faith in you. Were you not listening to the words I [your Master] spoke? Why, oh why, did you not make Nova submit to your will? Make him tap out like a rookie would a seasoned vet. Make him feel the pain of the David Van Dam that was out on a mission to prove he’s better than the Seifer’s, better than the Nova’s, better than the Dante’s of the world. Why didn’t you do it, son? I was rooting for you man, I wanted to see you follow my advice like a great fighter would his coach. Go out there, decimate him. Come to Final Verdict, decimate me. Go on to become the Champion for the unprecedented fifth time, finally for once in your career having actually worked your way up that PWT ladder to achieve such a great fame. But you?you failed me.?/FONT>

A sneer.

“Albeit, you didn’t do exactly what I thought would happen, but close enough. I expected Nova to tear you apart like he a hungry pitbull and you a piece of meat. Well, he pretty much did, but with all the chaos the match was thrown out. The way I see it, you got lucky. About as lucky as you got when we last faced off and I didn’t get a chance to finish you off. Now however, I do get that chance. My little quest for you was to go through me at Final Verdict after going through Nova, then CM or Nova or Dante or whoever the hell else. Obviously, it was a joke, but did you bother to bite and shoot back at me, at any point? Did you bother to make it interesting? Nah. You didn’t because you would rather ignore me rather than try and hype this match up like the epic it’s going to be. And to think, you claim that the business is your heart.?/FONT>

A black heart.

“If it was then why didn’t you do what I did? Two weeks ago, you had a match, I didn’t. So what did I do? I hyped up the match by developing some potential interactions in the promos. Sure, we had the classic run-ins but let’s face it, that’s basic, that’s what everyone does, I tried to give it something more. Then I had a match?and you didn’t. What’d you do to push the feud further along? Not a thing.?/FONT>

“You see ladies and gentlemen of the jury, David Van Dam is once again living a lie everyday he claims that the business is his heart. He’s living a lie when he claims that’s all he cares about. This match for example, has nothing to do with the business. It’s for himself and nothing more. He accepted the Lion’s Den match because I challenged him to it, not because he wants to put on a phenomenal match with me in an environment not used often. He saw the opportunity and after taking two and a half weeks he realized that he would accept and use this as a last bow out, as a last final chance to take down his personal enigma that is Seifer. That’s all he cares about. Forget a potential match of the year, forget giving it all he has. He wants to give just enough to put me down and that’s all he’s worried about, that’s all he’s focused on. One would think that with that kind of determination, you’d easily show up so focused I’d become like butter to a flame.?/FONT>

“Fortunately it’s exactly that type of blind raging determination that is going to lead him into trap after trap. There’s not many places you can go in that Lion’s Den, which means when I begin to evade your moves and frustrate you, you won’t be able to slide out of the ring to regroup.?/FONT>

“Hmm, perhaps I’m being a bit careless? Giving away hints of what is going on through my mind. Then again, you’ve got center David the Buddhist over there who believes he has finally figured out a way to beat me! Hah, that’s funny right there, I don’t care who ya are! See, to you I may have had no weaknesses, but I do, just like any of us. The thing that baffles me is that you honestly believe that in the time span of a week, you’ve not only figured me out, but believe it’ll be enough to take victory. Sure, it may startle me if you’re on the right track, but if you think that’s even going to be enough, you’re in for a long night.?/FONT>

He slaps himself upside the head, shaking it.

“Oh wait, I forgot. You been training for this match since Immortal Glory. How could I forget? Put aside all the other matches you’ve had, at night I bet you watched our match over and over. Hell, you’ve probably seen it 1,000 times! BAH GAWD YOU HAVE THEE KEY! I AM DOOMED, OH I AM DOOMED!?/FONT>

Seifer falls to the ground, head in his hands and begins to weep.

“NOOOOOOOOOO!!!?/FONT>

Laughing, he gets back up and dusts his shoulder off.

“As you can see, I’m not worried by what you think. I’ve given it both thought and airtime because though my reaction may be in a joking manner, I know that you’re not a bluffer. I know that if you think you’ve figured me out, odds are you’re on the right track. Which only means that you’ll provide a much tougher game for me to work against. To be honest that’s what I was hoping for. I was hoping you’d be able to work your altered game against me like you’ve done successfully against others, because that’s when I’m able to perform even better. You may have stood toe to toe with me for an hour Dave almost two years ago, but you didn’t take me at my best, and I still beat you. So just know that if you want my best, you’re going to have to reach down into the depths of you soul and give me everything you’ve got, and then double it, and then triple that, and then double down, and then maybe, just maybe, you’ll be able to get me.?/FONT>

“But I doubt it. You want to defeat me at all costs. You’ve gone around the world to center yourself, as if I care or am supposed to be impressed. I’ve gone around the world too David, and I did it without having to just up and leave the company because I was no longer on top. I know its been brought up before, how ‘creative?SeiGee is, but really, what do people know? True, it’s the combo of the two names, but it isn’t just that. That all came about while wrestling in Japan. I believe we were teaming together and we made a trip up into the mountains where we saw an elderly man and did some training there. Details are brief because I don’t give away too much, but you get the point. Look at it in a Japanese way and say it quickly and you got it. That has nothing to do with our match, I know, but it does tie in. It ties in because I too have done what you’ve done when it comes to traveling and training, but it wasn’t to defeat anyone in particular. Perhaps you really have been centering yourself for this one goal, one purpose and that’s to beat me. If that’s the case…?/FONT>

“You’ve already lost.?/FONT>

Seifer shakes his head, disappointed, and leaves the scene.

“The Lion’s Den.

A structure that is meant to confine two individuals into an almost circular like area and not allow anyone to enter or exit until the fight is over due to the sloping angular steel cage.

A fight. Not a match, a fight. Reminiscent of mixed martial arts, especially since UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock is the guy synonymous with the Lion’s Den from the team he had in the early 1990’s to the actual match itself in the WWF.?/FONT>

The legendary scene opens up inside of the PWT Center here in Tallahassee. The seats are empty and down by the ring we only see a few crew working to get the ring and everything in order. Seifer stands on the stage off to the left side and looks down at the battleground he will enter later in the evening. The steel structure standing there - so firm, so solid, it would house a war.

“David Van Dam has claimed he has been preparing for me for years, or he would have you believe. He wants nothing more than to walk away with a victory. He has been trying to center himself, get his life back in order to beat me. I said it before and I’ll say it again, this is why he has lost already.

He is too gung ho on beating me he fails to see the big picture. He has failed to see that all this time, as he’s focused on me?I’m focused on, well?me.?/FONT>

Seifer grins and sits down on top of the steel stage. He turns around and lowers himself down until his arms are extended and Seifer lets go, dropping the last few feet to the steel concrete below. It takes a couple of seconds for the cameraman to get down there and when he does we see Seifer walking slowly and methodically around the Lion’s Den his fingers brushing the side of the cage.

“He’s gone about this entire thing with the wrong purpose in mind, the wrong goal in mind. He’s too worried about me when he should be worried about himself. What was that you said last time Dave? Fuck the fans? And fuck me too, Seifer??/FONT>

He shakes his head ‘no?

“No I believe it was…?/FONT>

Best DVD impression he can do.

“WELL FUCK THEM! AND FUCK YOU TOO SEIFER!?/FONT>

Seifer grins, remembering DVD’s little pissed off rant and laughing at how funny it was that he was so bent out of shape Seifer was doing better than him.

“Maybe you should have kept that same intensity. Cause you should be more focused on yourself man, you should be doing this for you, not anyone else. Your entire travels around the world centered on trying to beat me. As I said, I’ve traveled the world too and have bettered myself. But it wasn’t with one goal and that’s to beat one person, it was with the goal to be the best the world has ever seen. Screw the stars man, I shoot beyond them. I latch on to other galaxies and transcend everything people know and understand. I do the things people only dream about that would be cool to do, I go out there and just do it, no restrictions. When it comes to entertaining? Oh when I want to I’m the best there is. Years ago I gave myself the moniker the Creative Genius, and recently, I was given the Creative Nightmare by former tag team champ Jake Mitchell. It rings true, you know. When I’m on, I am a creative nightmare. They say there’s a fine line between genius and insanity and as I’ve been quoting for a long time?with me that line doesn’t exist, I’ve long since erased it. You never know what I’m going to do?you never know what I’m capable of…?/FONT>

Seifer flashes a smirk.

“This week is different though. I had my fun and games the week before last, acting like I was all for you, giving you all this pointless positive reinforcement. Now it’s time to get down to business. I may have many reasons for this match, but those aside, I still want to go out there and give the fans a show they won’t ever forget. I want to steal the show David and though you’ve disappointed me from a promo stand point, I know the fight you’ve got in you and I know you won’t disappointment in this here Den.?/FONT>

He finishes circling the Den and steps inside, closing the door behind him as the cameras remain on him, through the cage. Seifer survey’s the Den itself, taking in its environment.

“See tonight it’s not going to matter what everyone always says about you. How you’re this one dimensional kind of guy, always going in there wanting and ready to wrestle your opponent into submission. No, tonight that’s going to work for you. Tonight you don’t have to worry about going outside the ring and brawling. Tonight, you’re going to be able to play your game all night long. Now I’ve admitted this before but I don’t consider myself a technical wrestling master. I know I’m one of the best at it, but it’s not my only forte. I much prefer brawling it out anyways, adding in some mixed martial arts and just breaking you down. All of that, is what you’re going to get tonight. I’m going to come in here Dave and we’re going to wrestle. I’m going to take the fight to you and show you that even at this mat based game, you can’t beat me. I’ll remove any shadow of a doubt you might have on who the better one is. I’ll take you to your limit and far beyond. Tonight?there’s only two ways to end this thing, two ways to get out of the Den, two ways to avoid my eternal punishment.

Surrender. Give up. Acknowledge that I am better, that you can no longer continue on as you tap out.

Or one of my personal favorites. Fight me with all that you’ve got until I decide it’s time to end it and BOOM, left hook across the chin that knocks you out.?/FONT>

Seifer bends down now, in the gorilla position as the cameras zoom in on his face as his focused and determined stone cold eyes pierce the camera.

“Welcome to yet another classic setting, the scene of the fight tonight. I hope you’ve prepared yourself and are ready to step foot into my realm - a steel cage environment. A place where I transform to the point where I want nothing more than to completely and utterly tear my opponent apart. You experienced what it was like with me in a steel cage match recently back in that tag title bout we had when you made your return. Now, there’s no distractions. This time, there’s no one to come out and help save you from me. You want to be the lion?well then you can be the lion. I’ll simply be Seifer, the Ice Cold Killa. We’ll see who walks out.?/FONT>

Seizzle out.
