Boy!! What is our WORLD coming to? People imprisoned wrongfully, children being abducted, the US gov't at war with the world, terrorists bombing the heck out of any place they like just because they CAN & get away with it! Is it just me or is it getting WORSE?! HOW can we stop this insanity? I want to know. I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO sick & tired of the "bad guys" getting their own way - isn't it time that the rest of us, who enjoy living in peace, with tolerance, patience and understanding - have OUR own way? Why is it that the world needs to live in FEAR? Why can't we all get along & celebrate our differences? It makes me SOOOOOOOOO MAD!! Does anyone have any answers, thoughts, ideas??? Let me know! No it's not you and yes...it is getting worse. Wish I had an answer to give...hell I ain't even got cure... As for me...I try to make the "world" around me a bit better of a place to be and hope it rubs off on others. Teaching by example if you will...but alas...that don't always work... I live in what is called the Bible Belt in VA. Which is really amusing considering I follow traditional path of my Grandfathers & Grandmothers...Recently in a small town near me one of the faiths came out and claimed that gays had the same right to a religious community as well as anyone else...the church was burned yesterday... What does this really say about the human race?....I find myself going to work and coming home and not wanting to deal with what is out there if I don't have too...I find I can't watch much news..getting too much to handle...Being an empath this is really taking it's toll on my physical being as well as my spiritual being. I walk the straight and right Red Road...but the White road keeps bleeding into my life. The bad guys win because they don't care who they hurt...if you don't believe their way...they punish you...We probably could make a difference if we chose to play fast and loose with other lives...but some say that is not our way....Don't know...myself I think it is time for another Trail of Broken Treaties...but they (govt) would probably gun us down like at Kent State all those years ago. Makes me mad too....
When we hear of man's inhumanity to man;
all we can do is pray that the Great Spirit
will finally touch the hearts of man
and show that love is the only way.

I hear you. I refuse to watch the news beause it's fear-mongering and because its depressing & it makes me MAD! But things find their way to me anyway! I, too, believe in trying to make the world around me a loving place. I don't know if I always succeed, but I guess I'm human!! It just seems to me that if we ALL (the millions of people who feel the way we do) get together, we could make a powerful (not in the way the male dominated world means powerful) group which could come up with a few answers to problems like these. Sometimes, I feel so powerless to do anything. CSC |

What has happened is that now we are more aware. People have been wrongfully imprioned since the beginning of time, this is nothing new.
What is new is that we have TV and the Internet which make us aware of this in a rapid fire manner and we have lawyers involved in the Innocence Project whom work some times pro bono to free the wrongly imprisoned.
Child abduction, again old story, you have had children abducted through-out hisotry some times for slavery, including sex slaves, parents abducting children from one and other, military origanization abducting children to fight in a war.
Again all that has changed is that we now are more aware because of the way we learn of this.
The U.S. Government and Terrorism.
The U.S. Government being at war with the world is in part due to the action of Terrorists. we are doing what the Israelis and Irish and Germans and countless other countries have done when attacted by terrorists.
We strike back because if we don't we come across as cowards and encourage the Terrorists to strike again.
The terrorists feel that they can get away with it because their actions cause division among the people of the country they attact, therefore discent settles in and the people turn against each other allowing the terrorists to win.

Is it just me or is it getting WORSE?!
How do we turn this around? How do we stop the bad guys?
Well we could all end up being vigilanties and strike out against the terrorists using their own methods but that makes us no better than them.
Or we could follow scripture and instead of hitting them with a big stick we could turn the other cheek and do unto others.
This means we do not allow fear to control us, which has been integrated into us since we were children, by our parents, religious leaders, teachers and as adults bosses or spouses.
We must remain calm and at peace allow the water to move around us but not be moved by the water.
To celebrate our differences we must overcome the programming that differences are dangerous and show others to be less than human.
My own heratige is an example.
I am part Massadonian and part Greek in my heratige. The Greeks see the Massadonians as less than human they do not have the right to walk in the shadow of a Greek.
The Massadonians see themselves on the otherhand as Greek just with a different view of their Greekness.
When you can have a Greek and Massadonian sit down and share coffee and Kalamari then you will be on the road to shared differences.
To achieve this we have to overcome fear again and listen with our hearts.
You must start with yourself, you must not allow yourself to be mad for being mad reflects back into fear and fear clouds you from achieving what you desire.
Hope this gets to you and that it makes sense.

Wow, now this is a heavy discussion, and I have to agree with you Tamirisic. I however fell that the big problem here is that there are no right answers and no wrong answers to this problem. I had a person say to me one time that he wished he could go back in time to the by gone days because things weren't cut and dried any more and it was easier. I told him that times back then were not easier..........just simpler. The more advanced and rapid technology becomes the faster news travels. There is always both goods and bads with advancements, and things have always been cut and dried......it's just that those who think they are in the know color everything with there verison of the truth. When it comes right down to it, do any of us know what the truth really is? We all have our beliefs.....and the funny thing is that, if you look closely at all of them, there are a lot of simularities. But no one really sees this the only thing most people see is.....your not doing things the way I do them so your not right, and the sad part about this is......that most of the people who say a person is not practicing religion the right way are usually from the same church or belief system. I wise person once told me to leave politics to the politicians because the only person who could communicate with a bald faced lier was another bald faced lier. I feel the best any of us can do is watch, always. Learn well from what we see, and try to teach what we know and hope for the best, because this is all we have. |

In an ideal world this may be true, however to quote from the Walgreen's commercial, since this isn't ideal there's Walgreens, or in this case, since this isn't ideal there will be right and wrong answers in the world.
Why do I state this as fact?
Simple it is because that is how the deck of cards is dealt in this world, in school you must put down the right answer to get a passing grade, in work you must give your boss the right answer to get a pay increase or to be promotoed, in relationships you must give a slew of right answers to get married and keep the relationship intact.
Society is strructured that there are definite right and wrong answers, I used to believe the line that there are no right and wrong answers, when I was much younger, but I got passed over and failed tests in college and got turned down for relationships and found out, hey there are right and wrong answers and I have been giving the wrong ones.
When we can get past the need for politics and control and truely be accepting people then we can do away with right and wrong answers because then we will live by the dictates of our hearts and by what is best, but until then there is Walgreens.
