Might as well bring this up because we are all so bored with no survivor.  I heard this film got standing ovations in Cannes.  Jeffrey Lyons said he really wants to see the film, and more so since Disney is trying to block its release in the land of the free (hard to believe).  Anyway, I heard it is quite controversial and was wondering what everyone else thought.

Oh, and I do not think Moore's films are documentary.  That may be the style, but he is clearly foisting an opinion just as Oliver Stone did in JFK.  So, while the format looks like a documentary, his films are something other than that.

The history station has some nice documentaries.  There is an objectivity to those.  Moore's movies are clearly subjective and this is why I like them (because I am in agreement).

Oh, and Bill O'Reilly LIVES in his own no spin zone.  As I say... along with Franken... lying liars...

The "hollywood" establishment, and all it's left winged cronies...ieBarbara Streisand et al, must be wetting in their pants with excitement.

Some critics speculated that if Fahrenheit 9/11 won the top prize, it would be more for the film's politics than its cinematic value.

I thought Franken's book was funny and well-written... definitely worth a look if you do not mind looking at both sides of all of the issues we have as a country.  America is such a beautiful country and it so sad that the people are at each other's throats almost like the civil war.  We are clearly divided in our loyalties... such a shame for such a great country.  We all deserve better than how we treat each other.

Anyway, Franken is quite funny and his book is selling like hotcakes.  As such, I suppose there are many left-side folks out there (but Franken would only consider himself a liberal but conservative on fiscal issues).

It seems to me that the French and other West Europeans adore consummate
anarchists like Michael Moore and other off-the wall people.  I believe they will
never know barbatic reality until it's all-out invasion by Islamic extremists!

They are people just like we are.... no one wants terrorism or violence or prisoner abuse or murder.  As people on this earth together under one god,  I think it good to be civil and fair and to work together rather than to be angry and oppositional and close-minded.  Yes, we may have differences... but, it is in the similarities as beings on this planet where the beauty lies.  As such, I may be hard on a guy like O'Reilly and he may be hard one me, but in a life or death situation, we'd work together.  And this is how we must be as a world working against terrorists.  Think how frightening it must be for the europeans... they are so close to the fray.  This is why Spain dropped out of the coalition.  People were afraid and it is the task of all good beings on this planet to oppose this terrorism together, or we shall be defeated in fear.

My best to everyone on this sunday...

I do not know if you've heard, but Michael Moore apparently interviewed Nick Berg when he was collecting information for his movie.  The footage did not get into the movie and Moore is not sharing it now but for with the parents.  Wow, what a weird coincidence... I suppose that if the parents ok this, it will be released at least in text.

Also, and this is very controversial and perhaps we can merely talk about it without personalizing... anyway, also, there is plenty of info going all around the net that the Berg taping was a hoax.  Do a search and you'll be surprised at the hits.  It shocked me.  A site called Rense com has lots of info... it's kind of a sketchy site, but you can also see pics of those Mexico UFO's that people are trying to hush up.

Hard to believe what is transpiring these days.  I heard Moore has been receiving death threats and has hired three big bodyguards.  What's going on around here?  No one overreacted when Oliver Stone's JFK blew a hole clean through the Oswald alone theory.  It's just a movie and just an opinion and Moore, like Stern, is further out there than many of us.  Yet, we should be able to talk of this (especially since there is no survivor and it's good to have something going on).   Anyway, I wish to apologize BEFORE getting flamed for merely bringing a subject for consideration to these pages.  My God, it's only a movie that is talked about on this movie thread because there is no survivor.  (Besides, this movie thread is kind of fun.  I appreciate a lot of the fun threads here).

Looks like it is coming out this weekend.   I saw a few clips.  Looks like he was all over gathering footage in this one.

I thought I read that it's out June 25th.  ??
Anyway, I'm sure not shocked that it will finally be distributed in the US, although I'm a little surprised it's this soon.   Winning the Palm d'Or sure sped things up, I guess.

I certainly think it should come out before the elections in order that america can get a glimpse provided by someone other than the starchy and stuffy news.  It may even be like a saturday night live show... I heard that Bush is entertaining and "has the best lines".

I loved the movie!

It's about time somebody came out and showed how bad of a president Dubya really is.

I don't usually visit the other topics on this board, well...except maybe the spoilers board sometimes (insert hand slap here) , but I noticed this one on the movies topic.

I saw Michael Moore's movie (9/11) and then attended his slacker tour at Ferris State University just before the election.  My son is a big fan of his and definitely NOT a big fan of Bush.  It was my son's first election this year, needless to say he voted Kerry.

Mr. Moore's presentation was wonderful, and kudos to him for talking about things that go on that the average person would not have access to or know how to research.  I agreed totally with what he said and how he portrayed it in his movie.

Also, kudos to Mr. Moore for trying to get young people to vote.  Like he said, it doesn't matter who you vote for...as long at it gets Bush out of office. LOL!  Seriously though, if he gets young people interested in voting, then good for him.  I have the utmost respect for the man and his opinions.
