Everything you read says to prebook appts. I have a stylist who has a large clientele & most of them prebook 4-6 months in advance. This makes for a very crowded book when those who don't prebook or new clients need an appointment. She is typically at least 8 weeks out for next appointments. It has created some frustration with the clients who don't regularly prebook. Is prebooking still the preferred way to go? At what point, if ever, is it the right time to "not accept new clients"? thanks! |

In my opinion, if the stylist is booked 4-8 weeks in advance, that's a good thing! She might not be able to accept new clients at that point, but you know, you have to think of #1. If I were her, I would start refering other stylists to keep clients in the same salon at least. |

I have a lots of clients that prebook. I work on my own so it works for me. I know what i need to have in stock in advance. I know how my day is going to play out. Im usually booked solid for a few weeks. Cancellations happen so i keep a list of clients that are interested in waiting for one. If clients cant wait then they are free to go else where. I dont have a receptionist so my phone doesnt get answered. Clients leave a message. Donna |

I've read in several places that if you are booked out so many months in advance, it's a good time to consider raising your rates... |
