isp1231..What do you mean by saying in your repsonds below ..Now because I do pay thier taxes they are my empl. and do have to work a fixed schedule? Here in New Jersey owners take out our taxes from our check and are responsible to pay there share into the system ..We are thier employees..Is that how you pay?We still can come and go if paid by commission only and it's by check form... Are you saying nothing comes out of there check? You pay all thier taxes ? There share and your share that goes into the system as an owner? By the way if you pay empl..every 2 weeks you can save more money (less checks to pay for) as for the wrong commemt sorry .. Live and Learn..Drew
just finally hired two new girls and am learning the payroll game... I do only pay commision no hourly...but they are still my empl. I have H&R Block run my payroll it only costs me 60$ a month paying weekly and 100$ for my quarterlies...Now because I do pay thier taxes they are my empl.and do have to work a fixed schedule..if you are paid commision and there are no payroll taxes done for you and you are basicly paid cash , you are considered an independent and they do not have the authority to tell you a work schedule..it is very tricky and if you don't know all the facts you can really get the shaft!! I didn't know all of this on my first job out of school and go hosed!!! Just make sure you do your homework because ultimatley you are the one responsible.
