Are you still using Chi, or can you use other brands where you work? It would help to give you a great formula if it were specific. I'll look at Chi's website. |

A fun technique to try is doing a few hilites through the top with a low volume lightener let process five minutes under the dryer then shampoo off. Color hair with the normal color formula after. You'll get great tone-on-tone diemension. |

if you're trying to ease a client into highlights, a great way to do so is to foil in about 9 foils on the mohawk over the color you've applied during the last 15 minutes or so of the processing. When you pull the foils and are ready to rinse, emulsify for about 3or 4 minutes and rinse completely...You'll end up with a very natural looking "sun" lightened effect, but definitely noticeable. I do this on every full color service I do, adjusting the processing time accordingly. I've had great luck with this....if you try it, let me know how it works for you... |

How on earth do you do this? It sounds very interesting but isnt it messy? You must be very neat when you apply colour. Looking forward to hearing any tips you might have Donna |

well I'm sure you assumed, but I meant foil in BLEACH over the color...lol. it is a little messy, but with some practice it's actually easier then foiling dry hair. It's easier to control the hair, and get the even sections that you want... ****another neat thing to do is--after you've applied the full color on the head, take a salt shaker filled with bleach powder and sprinkle just the powder over the color. The developer in the color is enough to activate the powder so you get a sparkley effect. Very cool, but I'll warn you that your clients will think you're nutty. :D *be sure to comb the hair down evenly before sprinkling! * |
