I have this client that drives me crazy!  Every time she comes in she wants her hair "just a bit deeper red"
She is always happy when she leaves, but a few days later she always calls and says you know I want a deeper red!  This just won't do!
So, the last time she was in I consulted with two other stylists, I colored her an even deeper red, and she ended up calling and saying this red is much too deep!
I'm about ready to tell her to look for another stylist!

Hey there Ms. Jules...

It sounds like your client is pulling a fast one on you.. To have came back that frequently for redo's TELL HER THAT CAN'T DO!!!! You will garantee it for maybe a minium of 2 redo's then she has to pay for 3rd time re-process...

2ND - I would ask her what type of products is she using at home...
If she is using anything over the counter on red.. IT WILL BE GONE WITHIN A DAY OR SO You know that the stuff in ove the counter products ecspecially things like PANTENE ... ECT... Have parifin wax in it and will strip the color completely...
SO Ask her these things...

If all else fails.. what you could do.. Is say something like this.. To get rid  of her professionally

Mrs. so and so,

I have done my very best over and over to get the desired red you would like...
I unfortately can seem to get accurate enough for you... So I would prefer to no longer inconvience you , or my self to continue this battle of achieving the red you desire... I would like to request you try another stylist in our salon that may better assist you or attempt another stylist in another salon.

Somehing like that .. That way you sound professional and your being honest...
2nd thing too.. Has she brought you a picture of exactly the type of red she desires...
I would ask her to bring in a picture for the next time so that it may help you get more accurate to the deeper red she is looking for...
Without a picture.. YOU MAY BE ON 2 DIFFERENT PAGES WITH YOUR OPINIONS OF WHAT A DEEP RED IS?????

Just food for thought.. I hope all of this helps you with this unhappy client

This sounds alot like a situation I had with a long time client after we switched from Logics to Socolor. I just couldn't get it right!!! First it was too light, and when I went a shade darker, she claimed she saw brown, and FREAKED! I even contacted Matrix asking for a compatible Socolor formula. Finally, I was able to get it right with just an alteration of the ratio of red/orange, and a couple of drops of color kicks. It was the closest we could get to the Logic's formula, and finally she was pleased.

I agree with Beauty Expert, she should show you a picture. That was what helped me a little with my client. She showed me a picture of herself when she was 19 (she's 64 now). I would say try one more attempt, and then if she just can't be pleased, then I would agree to give up on being driven insane!
