Hey out there everyone... SO THIS IS "VENT IT HERE" And well so be it .. I am gonna...
WE HAVE HAD 2 people quit last week... and our salon on quiet a few occasions has closed early!! THIS IS WHAT I AM REALLY NOT GETTING... Our company I work for... has these particular little vaules... like for ex. "TEAM WORK", Quality of Life" , "Integrity" , "Self Confidence" , and "Building Relationships" I don't understand how people can continue quitting... I feel like if our vaules were more enforced.. people would wanna stay...The last 3 HC's I have worked for... every single one of them... had bout 2-3 people quit all at once upon me getting there... DO I SMELL FUNNY? IS IT ME? Or is it our management teams? Maybe the Company? I just feel like the company would have better retention if they actually did what they preached which they always like "WE LISTEN TO OUR STYLIST AND GIVE EM WHAT THEY WANT" , which is true sometimes.. but not always... they also claim.. or have a philosphy that .. If we have happy stylist we have happy clients.. and that is where our success comes in??? Umm if that true.. HOW COME THIER OPENING UP STORES FASTER THAN THEY CAN STAFF THEM... Would it be buisness smart NOT TO OPEN A NEW STORE UNLESS U KNOW U HAVE A STABLE DEPENDABLE STAFF.. To HELP THAT NEW SALON RUN EFFECTIVELY AND BE PROFITABLE?

OOOO I just don't know.. Don't get me wrong.. I love the company I work for.. and I do have a part of my heart what they stand for.. I am just standing back scratching my head though... On HOW COME THEY LET THAT SLIP AWAY.... They got ppl quitting left and right.. not just in my salon but all around us in our district.. and SHOOT I GUESS IN FLORIDA.. HAIRSTYLIST ARE IN HIGH DEMAND!!!! So ANYONE WANNA MOVE TO FLORIDA... CAUSE I COULD ASSURE YOU I GOT A JOB FOR U!!! We need more friendly less misrable people more people THAT LOVE WHAT THEY DO.. NO MORE HAIRSTYLIST THAT COME TO WORK EVERYDAY HATING THEIR JOB... THAT IS BAD ON BUISNESS!!!!
NE WAYS.. HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE.. JUST HAD TO VENT SO LOL I DID!!!

Wow! I'm currently going through something very similar here too. But that deserves a thread of it's own lol. I just haven't had the energy to type it out yet. I also, like you, don't want to sound like I hate the company I work for. Both are very profitable companies, and know what they're doing business wise at least. I think the problem with stylist retention has (somewhat) to do with their hours. It's just really hard finding women to work at least 2 nights who don't have kids, or can find or afford a full time baby sitter. It's sad really. I believe they can be very profitable jobs for us if we are willing to do the hard work involved and have the time too. I know how much you really do love the company, and it will get better again. These temporary setbacks will always happen along the way.

Thanks Amy.. For your imput... I know it will get better again soon but you mentioned about it being hard to find stylist that will at least WORK 2 NIGHTS.. THAT DON'T HAVE KIDS... ECT OR A DEPENDABLE BABY SITTER!!!
UMM ** COUGH COUGH** Hello!!!! I HAVE 3 KIDS!!! SMALL ONES AT THAT... 9, 2 AND THEN 3 AND I DON'T HAVE A DEPENDABLE BABY SITTER.. BUT I COMMIT TO 2 NIGHTS A WEEK!!! AND AT ONE TIME TO SUNDAYS TOO ALTHOUGH I HATE SUNDAYS!!!!! SO... LOL I feel like IF I CAN DO IT AND MAKE IT SO CAN THEY!!!! IT JUST NOT FAIR TO PUT ALL UR EFFORT IN THERE COMMIT.. AND THEN THESE PPL CAN COME IN GET HIRED.. AND GET WHAT THEY WANT OUTTA THE SHOPS DESPERATION FOR PEOPLE TO WORK THERE... THAT JUST TERRIABLE!!!!!!

LOL I just feel like I got more kids than ne one.. and I make it.. WITHOUT A SITTER.. AND OR FAMILY TO HELP ME.. It just cause of how much I LOVE WHAT I DO.. I APPLY MYSELF AND MAKE MY SELF AVAILABLE!!!
U FEEL ME??? LOL .. I know what ya mean though... NO ONE WANNA DO WHAT IS EXPECTED.. THEY WANNA GET PAID TO DO NOTHING!!! WHATEVER.. SUCCESS IS SOMETHING U HAVE TO WORK HARD AT!!!

I remember you do have 3 small children. And that just proves that you are one of those rare gems in this industry. I just wish there were more out there like you!
