I had to have a pic line put in after having my stomach surgery. They tried 4 times to get it in.
They finally had to take me to another hospital via ambulance where they had better equipment to see where the line was going. At least 6 people were holding me down.....yes, it damn well hurts! For me, they put it in so they could get a special liquid food
that had the color of milk into me, as I was still not being able to take things in orally! Good news is that it did not hurt when it was taken out. (I did have to still have it in me when I was released, and visiting nurse would replace the bag 1x per day.)
We go thru different things in life....and I thought that if I could stand the cortisone injections that they gave me for my back, I would be
able to stand any pain. Well that damn pic line insertion made me
wrong. As far as I am concerned, they should put the patient out in
order to do that!
Hope you get to keep the laptop until after surgery is done, to update
us!!! Tell hubby we are all pulling for him!!!
