Please Hide Your E-Mail Address
And Set your preferences to
"Read your mail on the Web"

If you have a red star by your name, this means you are
receiving mail in your email inbox, and this too is not allowed due
to reasons that are not safe for groups.

Please check and make sure your e-mail addy is NOT showing.   This is in a Signature Designz rule due to our group safety and your safety as well.  You should hide your e-mail in each of your groups.

Hiding your e-mail address has become an important issue in many Groups that are aware of just what can happen when your e-mail address is showing.
There is a possibility of your account being spoofed, even if the e-mail address you have showing is a fake one. Spoofing means a person posts by email using your email address and it will post as if it was you that were the one who posted it. They do not need your password to do this. When someone starts spoofing your passport, the only choice a group has is to unjoin or ban your passport to stop it from happening in their group.
Once someone has your passport e-mail address they are already half way into taking over your passport. There are Web Spiders that can pick up your e-mail address.  Once that happens, your e-mail will fill up with lots of spam.

To hide your e-mail address, you should go to each group you belong to.  Sign in and go to Member Tools, which is located in the menu panel at the very bottom on the left side.  If you are unsure how to make the necessary changes, there is a tutorial located on the following link.

How to Hide your Email Addy

Make sure there is NOT a check mark in the box that says "Allow other group members to see my e-mail address".  If there is a check mark in that box, use your mouse to uncheck it. Make sure you have checked to read your mail on the web.  This is also a group rule.

You can also make any other changes on this page if you wish.  When you are finished making any changes, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the Save Changes button for your changes to become effective.  If you miss this step, no changes will take place.

Always use a strong password.  It should consist of upper and lower case letters and numbers.  It should not be a real name or real word that can be found in the dictionery.

Never sign in from anywhere except a group that you have accessed from your favorites or from "My Groups".  Sometimes they use a fake log in to capture your passport information.  Once you are signed in to a group, don't enter a password again if you get a notice you have to sign in again.  It would be best to sign out and sign back in using your bookmark from your favorites list or using "My Groups located on the top right of your MSN page..  If you never log out, this should not be a problem for you.

Never follow any links that you receive in your
e-mails.   Those links could be taking you to a fake site where they will then have access to your information.

You have seven days to get your email address hidden.  We need to keep our group safe. Some just make it difficult for us to do so.
