I am bringing this up again because the longer I am on Lyrica the better I feel. I still have other issues with pain but not Fibro pain or Fibro fog. It is like having a new lease on life. Now it doesn't work for everyone, and I am not saying everyone should be on it. But if you haven't tried it Give it a chance. Yes I gainde 15 lbs but I have already taken 5 of that back off. I am on 600 MG and that is the right doseage for me. Try it if you haven't ((((hugs)))))))))) Sunflower |

I have tried Lyrica, went off and went back on. I was on 300 mg per day and I did notice a difference with more movement the longer I was on it. At first .... it just makes me very sleepy but after a few days my body gets used to it and it the sleepiness goes away and the movement/pain gets better (for me) after about a month of taking it. I agree that if you haven't tried it....give it a shot and don't worry about the weight gain...the medication itself )for me) doesn't cause the weight gain....it makes you hungry and you just have to control that. I didnt' gain any weight during the 4 months I was on it. Thanks for letting me share my "two cents" ...lol...

I am one of the people which did not have success with it. I gave it what I felt was a fair amount of time...about 6 months. My current physician tried to encourage me to attempt taking it again while bumping up the dose very slowly, but the side effects outweighed the benefits. I am happy to hear it has worked well for some of you. I am going to do a little digging, though to see if it affects diabetes at all, and how. I'm now wondering if some of the sleepiness and dizziness I felt may have been due to that. Perhaps now that I've been diagnosed and am on Metformin for it, the Lyrica's effects may not be as troublesome. I was also taking it with Cymbalta, and the sedating effects of the two combined was probably too much for me, especially with working nights. I'm kind of afraid to try it again, but I've heard quite a bit of input from both sides of the fence. I will be looking forward to what others have to say, and wish those that are having success with it continued success, and those that have yet to try it, success as well. HUGS, Betta Sue |
