Hey Dini!

1. Do you get fibro fog often or just ocassionally?

I'm a Non. No fibro here.

2. What do you use to manage your pain?

I DO have my share of pain. Dr put me on hi dose ibuprofin twice a day. Also much of my pain comes from the spasticity of my cerebral palsy, so muscle relaxers work as well.

3. What do you do to relax?

I watch my TV shows in the evening. I'm addicted to so many shows it's pathetic! LOVE my DVR!

4. Do you sleep well at night or wake up in the middle of the night often?

2 words--Ambien, baby! I used to have lotsa trouble sleeping, but dr put me on Ambien, and I sleep sooooo much better!

5. If you had 3 wishes that could come true what would they be?

1. That Spirit would be well
2. To be financially ok
3. To adopt 5 more kids

6. Do you have any food allergies or allergies to anything in particular?

Not that I can think of.

7. What does SNSBJ mean? LOL!

Super Niddy Sweet Butt Jr! Ma gave me that name! lol

Let's try this again:

Will you tell the story of how you and "Your Spirit" met?

I'll put this one in a separate post because it's long. Spirit and I actually wrote up the story in our own words and they were each read at our wedding reception. You'll have to ask him for his version. Here's mine:

                                        HOW IT ALL BEGAN
                             The REAL Version

I don’t know why I was so nervous. I had known Travis on-line for a little over three months, but we had never met IRL (for all you Internet illiterates out there, IRL means In Real Life).

He was hesitant to agree to come meet me, so I bribed him with the promise of a home-cooked meal.  I lose more friends that way! You think I’d learn! The night came, and dinner was NOT going right! My neighbor Liz came over to try to help salvage things, while I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get ready...hair, make up, perfume, etc...(I think I wound up spraying perfume in my hair and hair spray on my neck).

Just after putting my sad concoction in the oven, my doorbell rang. At this point I was hoping for a really really ugly guy who snorted boogers out his nose when he laughed, because I did NOT want to serve this stuff to a nice guy! No such luck! (He saved the booger snorting for the 2nd date!)

I opened the door to this handsome hunk of a man with the most beautiful blue eyes I’ve ever seen! Our eyes met as the smell of burnt toast filled the air.

Embarrassed, nervous, I invited him in. We sat on the couch and awkwardly talked for a few minutes. Well actually, I talked, he nodded and smiled. He pulled a miniature rose out of his pocket and gave it to me. Good looking AND romantic? Hmmm....I was starting to like this guy!

I got up to put dinner on the table, and he was right behind me, offering to help (more points in my book!). I hadn’t really stopped talking since he arrived (those who know me call it diarrhea of the mouth). I realized I was starting to babble, so I said, “I’m sorry I talk so much...?I’ll never forget the sparkle and in his eye when he said, “That’s ok, SOMEBODY has to...?The ice being broke, We were both FINALLY able to breath!

After dinner, we watched Hope Floats, a movie we had both been wanting to see. We sat together on my couch, and man, oh man! Did he smell good! I leaned a bit closer to him so that our shoulders touched, and GLORY BE, he leaned back! By the middle of the movie, I realized that, dang it all, I didn’t have anywhere to put my hand, so I had no choice but to rest it on his knee...oh well!  By the end of the movie, we were sort of playing with each other’s hands...I still don’t know how that movie ended....I was too busy counting the goose bumps on my arms!

When the movie was over, we talked for a few minutes, and then he said he’d better go. He stood up...I stood up. We were facing each other. A hug was coming. But not just any hug....it was, by far, the absolute BEST hug I’ve ever received! He leaned in, and held me close. My tummy was doing somersaults. After he pried my hands off his neck, we walked to the door. We stood there for a few minutes just grinning at each other. After 4-5 more hugs, it was getting ridiculous, so I smiled and said, “Come here....?He understood completely, and leaned down and gave me the most tender, precious kiss I’d ever received. I was fluttery all over, and my knees almost failed me. He held me for a second, smiled at me, and left.

After I finished jumping on my bed, I started planning our next date! Dinner at Wendy’s (with a hug and a kiss at the end), a trip to K-Mart (with a hug and a kiss at the end), getting his tired rotated (with a hug and a kiss at the end)....anything. But that of course depended on whether he still wanted to see me after the indigestion from dinner he’d get on the way home!

Woohoo! Congrats sweetie!

I thought SNSBJ stood for Super Niddy Stinky Butt Jr.  :p

We actually need to adopt at least 10 more kids to hit the dozen mark we half-joked about before we got married.

I can't think of any questions, but I can provide insider information. gwahaha

I suppose some topics are too private, so I won't discuss a certain subject that involves a particular element with an atomic weight of 16 (I think).

Niddy tends to be overly modest, especially online. You should know that she is brilliant and has no end of talents. Someone ask her about her talents. :)

But seriously, she has to put up with a lot when it comes to me. When we got married niether of us thought our lives would be how they are. I was supposed to take care of her. Life has sorta been on hold for quite awhile now, and she has been very patient with me.

Just be glad you know here, because she's a treasure in a scary, dangerous world.

Lov eyou forever, sweetie! (typo intended...inside thing)

Awwww sweetie I love you sooo much!

Ok harm, back to yours:

2. Will you tell us your Favorite
"Mommy Story" for each one of
your little Angels! (wouldn't dream of having you choose only 1!!  not fair)

Tuff to pick one, but their births are definately up there. They both were completely different, but when they were in my arms, I knew that they belonged to us. I'm trying to post some pics, but dumb msn wont cooperate.

3. If you could pick your name what would it be?

I've always loved Isabel or Jessica.

4. I have a cousin w/cerebral palsy;
"What is the Biggest Misconseption(sp?) About It??

Hands down, that I'm mentally disabled as well. People see we wigglin', and my slurred speech, and they start treating me like I ride the short bus!

Well Niddy I understand the stupid thing about the short bus.  People do the same if you can't hear. :(

OK I want to hear about your talents :) I know you are brilliant because I am the mama :)  So tell me all about them.  Even the ones you do not think you have :) :) :)

I was going to post my story, but it seems I lost the file when my hard drive crashed some time ago. Basically, it was written as a conversation I was having with my heart during mine and Niddy's first date. Hopefully I can find it somewhere.

Just some comments about HER side of it...

1.  It's not "booger snorting" it's "snot rockets."
2.  When she opened the door and I smelled smoke, I wondered if her neighbor was there to help put out a fire or something.
3.  We still eat that "concoction" often, and it's still better without burnt toast. But what should be brought to light is the next home-cooked dinner we had. We refer to it as "The Stir-Fry Incident." Some stuff just shouldn't be labelled "meat."
4.  We must have been holding each other up after the first kiss session. (It was definitely not just a single kiss. That or it was exceptionally long.)

Lastly, I want to comment on what Niddy said was the greatest misconception people have about CP. It's always a shock to me when I see someone staring at her in a store, or when someone talks to her in baby talk or ignores her and only talks to me like I'm her caretaker or something. It's always a shock, because I don't see her disability anymore. I didn't after the first 5 minutes of that first date. When someone ignorant of what CP really is glaringly points it out I have to wish they could spend that 5 minutes so they wouldn't see it either. The majority of the world never let themselves glimpse that great part of her that is immediately behind the jiggy walk and the slight speech slur. The sad thing is, a lot of times I don't even realize how someone ignorantly insulted her until we have moved on or something.

It's ironic. She is judged by things people can see, and I am judged by things people can't see. I guess we're a perfect pair!

Happy Mother's Day, Angel! (And all you other mothers!)

I may have the story if I do I will email it to you Spirit :) :) :)

Also I understand totally about people judging you.  It is hard and painful when you know they don't care enough to find out the truth.  People talk to Honey when I am standing right there.  I just keep asking the questions I want and they keep telling Honey. :(  Errr :(

OK back to Niddy questions :)

  • What do you fear?
  • What are your pet peeves?
  • What is your favorite thing?
  • What is your favorite plant?
