Hey Joy! Spirit's having trouble w/that too. He now puts it on his upper arm (like where you get shots) Then he puts duck tape over them lol. Kinda silly but if it helps, it's worth it. He's up to 75 mg, but his dr (good dr) says he'll prolly go up to 200-400mg before getting any relief. As for the nauseua AND breakthrough pain, try upping your xango to 6-8 ounces a day for 3-4 days, with LOTSA water! Good Luck! |

Hi :) When I had the patch I had them try giving me different brands till I found one that sticks the best for me. See if they will do that it should help :) Also the upper body has thinner skin so it is best to put it there. I agree with Niddy and Spirit upper arm is best but make sure you do not repeat the patch in the same place too soon. Put it on as many different places as you can before repeating the pattern. I told my Dr I was nause and he gave me some meds to help. With the patch I don't think they like to give you much but have you tried flexiril? I hope this helps some :) good luck and mega hugs :) |

Hi, I take ginger root and glucosamine. Also Calcium, magnesium and zinc help with range of movement.

The DURAGESIC® (fentanyl transdermal system)CII patch is a strong medication for moderate-to-severe chronic pain, available only by prescription, that can provide long-lasting relief from persistent pain.
Through its unique patch technology, DURAGESIC delivers fentanyl, an opioid pain medication, slowly into the body through the skin where it works to relieve pain for up to 3 days (72 hours).
DURAGESIC is strong medicine for serious pain. The DURAGESIC patch should only be used when other less potent medicines have not been effective and when pain needs to be controlled around the clock.
If that isn't enough info please ask away :) |

Hello.. I have been on the "patch" for over 2yrs. I was on 50mg. but that was getting me nowhere..Then they upped it to 100mg. I think I slept for almost a year before I got used to it.. But PLEASE don't let that stop you from useing them OR trying them :) .. I couldn't get around at all without them.. As far as them sticking, it depends where you put them and you have to remember to make sure you aren't out in the sun with it showing. Make sure it's under your clothes :/ .. I put mine on my (excuse me) butt..LOL.. The sticky doesn't show (I used to put it on my chest.) and it's out of the sun.. And if you need to restick it most of the time if you leave your hand on it for about a min. the heat of your hand will restick it.. At least it works for me.. And I can change sides (sorry again) of my butt if it's bugging me..hehe.. I hope this has helped.. Take Care, *hugs* |
