Something's been bothering me for years. I so want to be motivated. To clean my house. To write my book. To keep a journal. To excersize every day. To get up early. To have the will-power to eat right. Why can't I? Is it laziness? Even if I really really WANT to change? What's wrong with me? (and no I don't have fibro) Can anyone relate? Thanks everyone, Me |

Hey Niddy have you ever been checked for depression and if you have, have you been on medication? If you have been on a medication for a while it may not be working like it did in the beginning. I know that you have been under a lot of stress and this can lead to symptoms. It would be prudent on your part to mention this to your doctor. gero |

Yeah Gero I am on celexa. I've been on different ones for 12 years, and believe me, I'm even worse without them. |

{{{{{{Niddy}}}}}} I do not believe that you are lazy! Nor do I believe that it can all be chalked up to depression...this may sound bad at first but not the way it sounds...had a small stroke and now a problem with words--glad it's all that came of it! Ok....if things were that bad...you wouldn't let them get that bad--maybe too much time on your hands or too little--maybe with as busy as your life is with other things--we all have different priorities....some that are important to you might not be with someone else....maybe make a list and just do what you can or have time for and do the next tomorrow--assign things to certain days?? Sorry...sometimes it takes me a long while to say short things! *H*&*P* juls |

Niddy I don't think you are lazy at all. I agree with both Gero and Juls. Maybe it is time to see if your meds need to be adjusted. But and this is the part I really think is important, you do so very much!!!! Do me a favor for one day write down everything you do, no need to show the list to anyone but you so really write down everything you do for your family and you and others for one 24 hr period. Then look at it. Read it. Did you need to energy you thought you wanted to clean house with to just make it through the day? You take care of everyone and everything and that is wonderful. But let's see what the first list says. Then make a second list. All the things you think you should do in one day, include everything that you do and don't do everything that you feel you should do in one 24 hr period. Now look at both lists. Mark the amount of time it took or takes to do each item and be real. Give yourself 15 min. to do a 15 min job! Then add up the hours subtract that number from 24 (be sure to have at least 6-7 hours for sleep!) Now im me and tell me how many hours in a day you need. If you are wasting time you will see it. But I think more you will see you are so busy that the least important things slide. Clean house what is the point with kids LOL. The things that are important to you, write your book, keep a journal, excersize, eat right, you will now be able to see where it can fit in. I will help if you want. It is always easier to see wasted or less important items when they are not your minutes :) I hope this helps and sorry for the delay :( I love you :) |

Just an update on this: I had my thyroid tested, and yup it was way low. It was such a relief to know that what I'm feeling in REAL...does that make sense? Dr put me on meds but it could be a while before I see results. I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks for the support, everyone! |
