Over on the main board, and in one of my posts, I mentioned the game of Horse.  This was the forerunner to "one on one".  Two players, a basketball and a net, or at least, a hoop.

This is the way the game is played.  There's no tip off.  Usually the one controling the ball is the first player - Player A

Player A makes a right handed hook shot and drops it through the hoop.  Player B now takes the ball and attempts to make the same, right handed hook shot.  If he misses - one point for Player A.  The game is now one/zip Player A.  However if Player B makes the shot it's one/zip Player B.  Player A is given the ball again.  This time he goes for, say a set shot.  If he makes it - one point in his favor.  Player B attempts to make the same set shot.  A miss - no point.

Game is 10 points.  The first one reaching that is the winner.  Each shot done by one or the other players has to be followed by the same shot. Hook shot - Hook shot...Set shot - Set shot. etc.  The one with the ball is the one who "calls the shots".  In this game attempting to take the ball from the other player is not allowed as it is in one on one.  This is a more relaxed, non strenuous game.  I never was very good at it because I was never interested in sports in school.  I was there to get an education, not be a jock.

In my youth, Pony, (about a hundred years ago), I was pretty good at some sports.  I liked basketball and volleyball the best.  I wasn't good a baseball at all.  And of course in my day girls didn't even think about playing football.  I also enjoyed track a bit.  I still love bicycling.

I thought McD's quit giving quarters back when they started donating to black history month.

Y'know....that kinda irritates me!  We can have a Black History Month, or a this/that history month but we don't have a Confederate History Month, or a Native American History Month.  Native Americans were here a helluva long time before the Blacks got here!  Confederates have contributed a helluva lot more to history than Blacks have!  So why are those two groups getting the brush off?  That seems a whole lot one sided to me.

Sure...there have been a number of Blacks that have made notable contributions, but as a group they haven't contributed squat!  So why do they get their own special month?

Fair is fair!  C'mon folks...let's be playing the game fairly!

Pony,
Here in N.C. May 10th is Confederate Memorial Day. Our county has May as Confererate  History month. The Battle flag is flown on our court house lawn, and R.E.Lee's headquarters flag is flown on his birthday. There is pics posted of this. I consider ourselves lucky to be able to observe our heritage here.
