many children play on the freeway while concluding the fast-moving objects are whizzing for their amusement. Other children like to light the matches, being content with the flash of sulphur as ignition of the mind. Two things have the same beauty - a snake's fang carrying poison, and a student's pang carrying desperation. Seldom do the children grasp the shared essence: both are sharp, both penetrate, one kills the body, one robs the soul.

 

Ethyl - children are the reason we are here and suffering; children play in the illusion of things, thinking they have painted the game according to their color books. Clothe the fangs with cotton fancy and soothe the desperation with a patience born of clarity. Don't look for the quarter under the pillow - some things just can't be bought :-)

I did not think we were depressing either.  The topic may say depression, but you read and you see people sharing how they deal or recover sharing hope.  If you did see THE SECRET, they don't say to walk away either.  That would be stinky and lead to a world without reaching out to others who need it.  Their statement on others is to focus on what you like about them in order to bring those qualities out.

Depression? Was it the dark night of my soul or just a closet I found myself lost with myself in? Was I fortunate that there was nothing else hurting me but me? Maybe. Maybe there is nothing worse? Maybe there is nothing better? Which view is better? For better or worse, I choose. That is all. I choose even when I don't.

As the plumber faces the stench of another day for the sake of  Movement, as the Garbage man faces the waste of another day for the sake of Movement, for all those that clear away what would keep you from SEEING, for all those that keep us from being buried under or drowned by what some find less then desirable to look upon for fear of the way it will make them FEEL,because of them, for them, I once again find myself at work. Digging away at the truth, scrape a little here, brush a little there, until, ahhh, yes, there it is. Can't keep it, just my job to bring it back to the light. Once I hand it over, its up to them what they do with it.Some of them bury it again, some of them play with it for awhile, and some of them throw it away. Me, I just move on to the next job. (sometimes I get lucky and its something I can show them how to use to help others ;))Tonight,my tools still dusty ,staring into the dark and glorious sky, I saw created above me a silhouette, a wolf, and I was reminded to come and give thanks to the teachers. You know who you are. Thanks for the signposts, they were a great help once the light came on. ;).I wouldn't be here without you. Bless you all.
