Spell and Affirmation
According to someone I spoke to, one of the difficulties in making THE SECRET, is that there are two conflicting ideas of the participants. One school of thought says that you continue to focus on the goal. The other school says you ask once.
Asking once is similar to a spell. Continued focus is more the affirmation technique. Apparently, that is one of the reasons why Abraham-Hicks was cut out of the film. She (or who she channels) states to continue to focus.
One of the examples in the film of continuing to send energy after the idea is the man who has the $100 bill taped up to look at. The dream board example as well is continued focus. (The dream board is the pictorial collage made to represent life dreams.)
The person I was speaking to said that in a spell, you continue to send energy after it to make the manifestation. The affirmation method is obvious continued focus. I disagreed stating that I let the spell go and don't continue to focus on it, since that is pulling or holding the spell. My focus is releasing it to do its work. He says that the belief of releasing to do its work is a kind of energy sent after the spell.
In any case, I thought people might find the two schools of thought interesting. To me they are not conflicting. I teach both methods as a way to focus spellwork or on affirmation.
I use both techniques also. It is funny that they cut the film to only present one way.
I thought I would go over some of THE SECRET, section by section, starting with the title and introduction.
Quote:
THE SECRET
The secret was buried.
The secret was coveted.
The secret was suppressed.
This idea has been brought up before on other message strings. The secret has been in plain sight all along? Hiding in plain sight is a very common tactic.
Just a reminder that the full original film is online at the link. It is the version with Abraham-Hicks included.
