I had to try it quite a few times before it downloaded. It kept on not being available for some reason. Can you read the other documents saved in that format Solace? |

Hmmmm. I was thinking that perhaps you could not read things in Word format. (.doc files) There are viewers for people who do not have Word, so that they can read the documents only. |

I wonder if we saved it as a webpage within word rather than a doc file if it would make a difference. We'll play with it and see what works. Meanwhile solace I can e-mail it to you if you would like? |

If it is a .doc file, and you do not have Word on your computer, you may need to go to Microsoft and download the Word viewer. It is free. |

Everyone here can read .html files. Otherwise, they could not veiw the community. HTML files are smaller, more portable, and do not keep track of every single saved version of a document. Honestly, I haven't even bothered downloading the .doc file. There is a small chance I could read it without picking up a proprietary peice of software that I don't really need on my system. I could open it in notepad, sift through all the formatting, but then I would be confronted by every revision made to it. This includes things that the author edited out and might not want me to see. In the file cabinet there is a .doc file called a thousand deaths. It had five other revisions, so six thousand deaths and a crude comment about conservatives that I'm sure was not meant to be seen. the .doc file is BAD in my book, and I don't bother with them when I don't need to. |
